A small, irritated click of the tongue as Kayoko realized her mistake too late and watched the girl's retreating figure as she ran out of the bookstore and out of sight. By now, plenty of people in the shop were watching the scene unfold and when the female turned to look at them, they all averted their gaze and began whispering among themselves, while others shook their heads and openly glared at her.
A heavy hand suddenly fell on Kayoko's shoulder and she looked up to find the store's manager staring disapprovingly down at her. "Excuse me, sir-" Ah, that's right - I'm still a guy. "-We apologize for bothering you, but our store has a strict no-violence policy. And as you seem to have violated it more than once today, therefore, we would kindly ask you to leave." A pause. "Before any more of these outbursts break out."
The female returned his glare with full force before making another irritated noise and brushing the man's hand off her shoulder, which had turned out to surprisingly easy. "Whatever." She turned her back on the man and began to make her way towards the exit, hands deep in the pockets of her pants. "I was just about to leave anyway."
Stepping through the bookshop doors and out onto the street, Kayoko made a turn down a narrow alley, where she leaned against the wall and heaved a deep sigh. Staring down at her shoes, the female shook her head and ran a hand through her fringe, just so she had something to do with her otherwise idle hands, her eyes still red as she kept up her disguise.
Well, that ended all future trips to the bookstore for her. Not like she cared that much about it anyway. She had never really cared for books or anything of the like. She had never been that much of a reader and now that she thought about it, she really had no idea why she had initially thought that going to the bookstore would soothe her mood a little. So far, it had only made it worse.
Not only that, but for some reason, she felt guilty at upsetting that girl earlier, making her cry and run out like that all of a sudden. Kayoko may not be the most friendly or loving person in the world (the truth was way too far from that) but she did have a conscience, albeit a very limited and seldom used one.
"Fuck." She muttered through gritted teeth as she suddenly turned and kicked at the wall she had been leaning on. "This sucks...!"
