tessitore:
“I am just trying to make sure you are comfortable. My teeth are quite large and the most I can do for you is use something to numb the pain. You will feel unusually warm and then the sensation of floating will course through you. I do not wish for you to be afraid of me. I will use my fangs to administer it and my saliva can close and heal the wound. I am not without mercy.” Moira explained.
“It does not have to be right now though! I am touched enough that you would even consider doing something for my own well-being. You may even decide where you are bitten to try and alleviate the pain.” I know the easiest area but quite frankly it is mortifying.
"Hmm..." Jane gave a slight pause as she worked this out in her mind. "how about... when you feel like you need the blood you let me know then?" She gave Moira a small smile hoping that this suggestion would make Moira more comfortable.
tessitore:
“…….” Moira could only stare at her as the gears started to turn in her head. She knows what she is offering, right? You realize you are acting as food? She swallowed before reaching up to undo her bow. “Before I accept that, I need you to know what you are getting into. I do not have small fangs like my spider friends. And although I am venomous I keep those retracted at all times.”
After tugging down her collar, she opened her mouth to reveal several sharp teeth with a gap for her largest fangs. “If this makes you uncomfortable I suggest not going through with it.”
Jane had initially thought that she had misspoken and upset Moira while she stared at Jane. She couldn't read Moira's expression because of lack of facial features and she dared not try to use her Empathy.
"I..." she flinched slightly, the reveal of the teeth had caught Jane off guard. "...Don't doubt that it would probably hurt but giving you some blood is hardly the worst thing to happen to me... physically at least." She added the last part after a slight pause. Jane didn't want to say it out loud but she felt like Moira might be more uncomfortable with the idea of this then she was. It felt strange to meet a god who seemed so apprehensive to offerings and even empathetic towards someone who was not on their level.
Quiet Nights
lovelyferdinand:
“I’m closer to Fae than Humanity I think sometimes. But I will take that as a compliment.”
The two sat in silence for a bit. Ferdinand mulling over the other girls words.
“I have friends. And my two children. But I still feel alone sometimes.”
She’d glance over. “Do you… have anyone? A family of your own?”
"Hmm..." she thought for a moment, looking up at the sky trying to think of the right words without sounding to depressing.
"They... all passed a long time ago." Jane said a little hesitantly, trying to play it off as if the thought did not bother her too much anymore. She wasn't looking to start a competition.
"Do you still see your friends and children often?" She asked, trying to turn the attention back to Ferdinand.
collectivecasualty:
The spirit’s head sank. He wanted to reply, to say…something. But he didn’t know what. With the amount of ‘same old same old’ David got, her response had him defeated. He just felt…confused. He took a moment to pull himself together, looking off into the distance with that guilty expression still pasted all over him. Finally, he looked at Jane. His face was at least somewhat normal, considering what it consisted of. He didn’t look murderously insane, nor wracked with confusion and guilt. It was much more humane. “I’m…I’m sorry. I can…” He interrupted himself with a brief chuckle. “…I can get carried away with greetings. I’m sorry about your Sweater.” He brought up his hand just infront of him for a moment, looking at his claws. “…Sharper than they look, huh?…” Then again, they did look very sharp to begin with.
Jane had stopped looking at him, his facial expressions were stating to make her feel slightly uncomfortable. There was a slight pause before let out an annoyed exhale. She guessed that she probably wouldn't get the answer to her question. "I suppose they are." She tried to sound more engaging then she actually felt. Her headache was making her feel more grumpy then she normally felt. Not to mention she was still quite cross with the entity.
"I take it you're the source of all the static from earlier then as well?" She guessed, finally looking back over at him.
Quiet Nights
lovelyferdinand:
who knows- it must be older than I actually am, but not that old overall. Or else I wouldn’t make so many mistakes or feel so alone.”
"I like to believe that most sentient creatures do have a soul, though I'm not a expert in that to be quite honest. Except for the fae and you don’t look like one of those.”
She turned her attention in front of her, absent mindedly looking at the now closed storefronts.
“But what I do know is, age has nothing to do with not making mistakes or not feeling alone." There was tone of melancholy in her voice as she spoke.

collectivecasualty:
Jane’s reply left David rather visibly confused. He had only ever recieved one or two replies like that before. Did she…want to die? And badly enough that she would be fine to delegate it to some strange creature that just showed up and began stalking her?
The creature’s only response was a paused, followed by it suddenly teleporting away from her to the other end of the Bench, almost responding to her comment on the cold. “I…I wasn’t going to…” He actually felt, and sounded guilty about this now. All he had started this with was a little curiosity and boredom, and now the situation had very suddenly depressed him.
Jane looked at him, rather perplexed. The sudden 180 in attitude threw her for a loop. She scowled at him and crossed her arms, now annoyed at the entity. She didn't particularly enjoy being toyed with like that. Though Jane doubted that anyone would.
"Could have fooled me." She chided as she rubbed her shoulder. Jane could hear the guilt in his voice but she couldn't bring herself to feel bad. She let out a loud sigh as she pulled out her carton of smokes and lit one, leaning into the bench. "So again, is there something you needed?"
collectivecasualty:
After so long, Jane finally got a reply. A much more snarky one than might be expected.
“Not the popular choice of words.”
From behind Jane on the other end of the Bench, the voice spoke out. Yet should she turn, the was nothing there. But back on the other side, the figure had suddenly moved, now just next to her, sitting up straight. That hideous smile had returned, as had the eyes, the thing tilting it’s head as it continued to stare. Being this close to the creature now, it gave off a terribly cold aura, as if Jane were leaning on a wall of ice.
“But to each their own.” The voice actually came from the creature this time.
The chill of his aura ran up her spine and she began to shiver more now. Jane was not a fan of the cold, but she doubted that wearing more layers would have stop her from feeling this sort of chill. Not even her scarf had been much effect.
"L-Look, if you're planning on killing me, can you get it over with?" Despite the chattering of her teeth, she spoke with a dry tone. Almost like the thought bored her. "I dislike the cold."
She wanted a quick out of this situation. This was not something that she wanted to deal with tonight. And It's not like she would stay dead for long anyways. hopefully she would come back before anyone would notice. Any blood left behind would probably be blamed on the art students.
tessitore:
“Yes, humans have advanced themselves quite far in my lifetime. I grew too fond of them to even consider continuing the rituals.” Moira pursed her lips as she looked up too. “No, I usually move myself outside when I feel the urge coming on. Still this place is barely big enough to house me.”
She looked at her quizzically as she asked that. “I suppose just a mouthful would do. Depending on magical essence present within the blood it would be even less. Why do you ask?”
"Well..." she began hesitantly. Jane had not been too fond of gods in her lifetime. She did find herself liking Moira though. she had been nice enough to host Jane in her home and make her such a beautiful scarf that Jane knew that she was going to treasure dearly.
"As long as it's not... too much, I don't mind giving you some of mine. It can be like a tip if that works?"
immortalbell:
“Sorry! No judgments from me, I know that not every being eats like humans do!” Jane had her hands in her pockets, weary that she may have just insulted Moira. “If… you feeling so ill without having had any blood for so long, then why not go get some from a blood bank?” She asked in a calm voice, trying not to come off patronizing.
“It is a topic I do not usually bring up considering how much people are repulsed by the idea.” Moira sighed as she crossed her arms. “Because blood that is in a blood bank is meant for people in emergencies. People who actually need that to keep them from dying. My consumption is only so I can maintain this form and keep from being a hundred foot tall spider.”
“Being hungry is nothing in comparison to people dying.”
"Ahhh yeah I can understand that. It was a bit of a culture shock to me when I realized that no one did them anymore." She scratched an itch on her cheek a little timidly as she looked up at the ceiling and the doorways. They definitely did not seem nearly tall enough to house a hundred foot spider (and imagine what the neighbours might think!).
"How much do you need then?"

David’s grin only grew wider at her reaction. While she didn’t do much, he knew she heard him. But he didn’t say a word. Ear splitting silence. The only real stimulation was the unnatural cold that had begun to form behind her.
After what seemed like hours, something finally happened. A dark, slim, clawed hand slowly appeared from behind Jane, gently grasping her shoulder. It’s claws were like scalpels running across her shoulder, and hideously cold. The pure silence between motions was like relief, but torture at the same time. The hand grasped her tighter as a dark, faceless, slender figure leaned over from behind the Bench. It’s face completely lacked any form of features, yet it stared her down.
Another torturous silence. The creature’s claws had already left tears in her jacket, and had made small incisions in her skin, it’s cold grasp only serving to burn the cuts with an inhuman iciness. On it’s face, a short, thin white line had begun to appear, almost in the shape of a smile. As it appeared, it seemed to almost ‘crack’ as it slowly spread, going literally from ear to ear in an insane, happy expression. This ‘mouth’ that had appeared began to creak open into a bright white, jagged, smiling maw. Two white dots appeared, as if mimicing eyes, slowly turning into their own bright white lines. The being simply stared her down, it’s insane, joyful smile looking to promise only terrible intent.
Suddenly, the creature flickered and vanished, only to reappear on the Bench, sitting opposite Jane. It’s face was gone and it sat in an almost casual position, it’s hands between it’s legs and it’s head facing towards the ground.
It didn’t say a word.
It was apparent to her that whatever this was had been taking a sick joy in teasing her like this. She had no idea why she had felt so scared by his presence, it was almost like a primal fear. That was probably what had been keeping her from getting up and running away. There was also a part of her that was afraid of this creature following her home.
She has not dared move when he had gripped her shoulder, but she could not stop the shaking and the gasp she let out when he had finally released her. It had felt like she had been holding her breath the entire time. Jane may not be able to fully die, but that didn't stop her from feeling pain or keep her from bleeding. Letting out a soft hiss, she rubbed her shoulder. The cuts were not deep, but they sure as hell stung like a fresh paper cut.
"C-Can I help you with something?" She tried to sound more confident then she currently felt, but the words felt dry as they left her mouth,
tessitore:
“Ah, I cannot have you doing that! You are my guest and I have to make sure you are comfortable.” She gave an offended scoff at her latter statement as if the very thought disgusted her. “Maybe in my early years I would have, but I am a refined lady! You cannot just go up to anyone and ask ‘may I snack on your neck?’ It is unheard of!” Her stomach growled as she protested quite loudly.
“I have not had the taste of blood for a century. I feel like I will die.”
"Sorry! No judgments from me, I know that not every being eats like humans do!" Jane had her hands in her pockets, weary that she may have just insulted Moira. "If... you feeling so ill without having had any blood for so long, then why not go get some from a blood bank?" She asked in a calm voice, trying not to come off patronizing.
Quiet Nights
lovelyferdinand:
“No no it’s fine!” She waved her hands. “I know it’s something of a survival tactic for humans. If they can’t see it, it can’t hurt them. Or something like that. I still find it amazing how often people just don’t notice me, even when I float around in broad daylight.”
“But you’ve… been around longer than you seem, haven’t you? I think the saying is you ‘have an old soul.”
She’d look at the girls eyes curiously. They seemed so much older than the rest of her.
"I doubt there is any point trying to lie to you and deny it." Jane shrugged, sitting down on the bench. "I am pretty old, yeah. Been around for a while. How about you?"
Quiet Nights
lovelyferdinand:
“Don’t worry I’m 100% visible. I never was good at being sneaky.”
She’d more than happily go sit on the bench.
“I might not be alive like a human but I am very much in the here and now.”
"Cogito ergo sum. I think, therefore I am." Jane gave her a soft smile "I know some people have a hard time noticing the... um..." she was trying to choose her words carefully. "Rather, they choose to not notice is probably a better way of saying it. Sorry if I spoke out of turn."
tessitore:
She let out a long sigh and patted her chest gently. “I think I might have done too many orders in one week. I feel like I might pass out.” Her laughter was a bit weak in comparison to before but she pushed herself to her feet regardless. “Are you hungry? I was about to make myself something to stave off the hunger a bit longer.”
Moira waved a hand for her to follow her into the kitchen. “I normally do not ask for the two things I need most in the world but I do think I should consider it. Although how do you ask people if you could have some blood?” She pursed her lips as she looked at the stock in her fridge. “Hmm, something hearty. Curry, maybe?”
Jane followed close behind her into the kitchen, concerned for Moira.
“Would you let me make you something instead?” She offered, hoping to coax her to sit down and take a break. “If its Curry that you want, that’s something simple enough for me to cook for you. I... Uh... I’m not entirely sure how someone would ask for a blood donation. Don’t you gods usually just demand it in forms of ritual sacrifice?”
Quiet Nights
lovelyferdinand:
“Is it that obvious…?” She’d hand her head a little.
“I am… restless?” She’d sigh. “I’ve been meeting new people but I still feel like I am stuck somehow. I’m not flexible like I used to be?”
“Or rather… there is nothing for me to be flexible about.”
“I wouldn't exactly say its written all over your face or anything, more or less... I can just sort of tell. Maybe it was your body language?” Jane half fibbed, taking a sip of her coffee.
“You wanna talk about it?” She motioned towards a bus stop bench. “I’m not sure if its normal for humans to see you or not, but I rather not have people walking by thinking that I’m talking to a light pole.” Jane gave Ferdinand a small smile.
