Valentine's day
"I hate this stupid holiday. If anyone needs me I'll be spending the day drinking and painting"
.
He looked at his friend suspiciously as he took the beer. It took him a minute to get the top off and finally get a drink of the beer. His friend had good taste in booze at least. His mind was already feeling fuzzy around the edges. He was sure that if he got up and...
"..You sound like a sappy love sick teenager" he laughed softly as he laid down on the couch and settled his feet in the blondes lap. As long as he had known Deidara the blonde had been the type to go from girl to girl like it was going out of style. It was odd to hear him talk like this, but he hoped that he was being honest at least.
"You're right about her being different. She chewed my ass out when I tried being smart with her. It was actually. Refreshing. It'll be nice to have another friend besides you for once. I hope she agrees to model for me again sometime. I usually can't afford to pay someone to pose for me. She agreed to do it for free"
He frowned as he watched his friend get up and make his way back to get another beer. Damn guy couldn’t just help him because he was his friend. Nooo, he had to get something out of it. Sasori really should have seen that coming.
He let out a long sigh and downed the rest...
He looked at his friend suspiciously as he took the beer. It took him a minute to get the top off and finally get a drink of the beer. His friend had good taste in booze at least. His mind was already feeling fuzzy around the edges. He was sure that if he got up and tried to walk he would make a fool out of himself.
"Put in a good word for you? Huh..I suppose I could do that. Not like she's interested in me or anything" he leaned back on the couch then sat back up to look at the blonde
"You aren't just going to fuck her and leave are you? She's going to he to come here to model and if you make her hate you it's going to get weird.
He leaned forward as he listened, nodding as he looked over the rough drawings his friend had already made. Both were good ideas, and he was particularly interested in one of them. His friend always had great creative ideas, he was sometimes envious at how quickly he was able…
He nodded, pushing himself off the couch to walk back to the fridge to grab another beer. He had to keep it light this evening, after all.
“Yeah I guess I’ll help, hmmm. What do I get out of it?” It seemed tedious to have to make so many stars and hang them up. He wasn’t one to sit down and make tiny little things for hours on end. He liked getting things over and done with if he could get away with it. If Sasori was going to make him do work, he wanted something back.
He frowned as he watched his friend get up and make his way back to get another beer. Damn guy couldn't just help him because he was his friend. Nooo, he had to get something out of it. Sasori really should have seen that coming.
He let out a long sigh and downed the rest of his drink in one gulp. By some miracle he managed not to cough it right back up. Deidara would never let him hear the end of that. He forced himself to swallow, but now his face was as red as his hair. He cleared his throat and tried to act normal before he answered
"What do you get out of it? You just offered to help and now you want something out of it? Ugh..well, what is it you want exactly? Nothing too crazy please. I know that's difficult for you but try to restrain yourself"
Help? OOC
(( Okay maybe I'm just doing this wrong. I'm trying to reply to posts and such and when I hit that new little button and go to reblog as text the pop up window just goes completly white. Am I doing something wrong? Is this happening to anyone else? Help plzzzzzzzzzz ))
Ooc
((Guys I promise I was gonna reply to everyone tonight but my stupid internet is out and posting on my phone is a pain in the ass. Ill reply to all you lovelies as soon as I possibly can <3<3<3))
He leaned forward as he listened, nodding as he looked over the rough drawings his friend had already made. Both were good ideas, and he was particularly interested in one of them. His friend always had great creative ideas, he was sometimes envious at how quickly he was able to come up with them.
"The second one is best, hmmm. I could help out too if you want" he looked at him.
"That's what I was thinking too" he looked at the dumb little drawing he had made and ran his fingers over it lightly. The thought of actually being able to create something worth while was immensely appealing to him. Most of what he had made lately had been such garbage and churned out so quickly. He was going to make sure he took his time on this piece and make sure it turned out just the way he wanted it too.
"Maybe I'll be able to do other work with her. If not I'm sure just creating something worth while will get me out of my rut. Maybe if I stop creating shit I'll actually be able to sell it"Â
It had always been his goal in life to be a succesful artist. He wanted people to buy his works, to go see them in galleries, and have them talked about all over the world. To leave a lasting impression that would talk about for years to come. That's what he wanted more then anything in the world.Â
"I'd like your help. It'd be a pain in the ass to make all the stars and string them up myself. Plus I'd like them to look random and you know how I am. I'd organize them and string them up by size and shape or something" He sighed and took a drink of his whiskey once more. It was sad but true that he was anal when it came to things being organized. Deidara had no such qualms.

Her lips twitched bemusedly at his abrupt change in demeanor, setting her papers aside to take the drawing pad and pencil. She was actually a bit nervous about modeling for him. Frankly, she still didn’t see what appeal he saw in taking the time to paint her but..In a strange way, she was glad that he did.Â
“Gotcha.” She scribbles her number down in the corner of the page, taking a moment to study the sketch. Did she really look like that? The way he’d drawn her eyes was, well, amazing. He’d managed to capture the moment so well, and she found herself wondering what a finished piece would look like.
“Oh?” She brightens immediately at the mention of incorporating the sky into his piece, handing his materials back to him. “That sounds like a brilliant idea.”
"I thought that you would like that. I'm probably not going to want you too done over or anything. You don't exactly look like the type to get all dolled up anyway" It didn't even cross his mind that that might be offensive to her "If you have a simple white dress I'd like for you to wear that. Maybe"
He gave her another sheepish smile as he took back his drawing pad and looked her number over, memorizing it instantly.Â
"Thank you. Obviously nothing's set in stone. I'll be sure to text you and let you know what I'd like you to wear and any other information. I'm really happy you're letting me do this. This is exactly what I needed right about now"

“Fries unless yall have onion rings,” he smiled hopefully.
“And….” He paused, quickly scanning the drink menu, “Any dark beer on tap is good.”
Genma passed the menus back to the waiter then relaxed back into his seat. He didn’t necessarily do anything today, but he had a long night the night before, spent most of the morning hungover, then did some much needed chores.
Looking around he inspected the restaurant closer. There weren’t many people there, but he attributed that to the time of day. It was kind of an odd hour, in-between most people’s meal times.
Shrugging he crossed his arms behind his head, sitting lazily and a bit improperly for the establishment as he waited for the server to deliver his drink. The one thing he really wanted at the moment.
"No onion rings, sorry" He gave a small smile as he collected the man's menus and went towards the back. It didn't take him long to ring the order in by memory. He had gotten very used to memorizing orders after doing it for so long. He never needed to write any of his orders down which was a nice talent to have. It always impressed tables that he was able to remember even the most complicated order. Of course, there was always one dickhead that would purposefully try to mess him up. He hated people like that.
He went to get the man's beer for him, sidestepping his co workers who were being forced to scrub everything. Thank God this guy had showed up. When his manager started to open his mouth to yell at him to get cleaning he held up the beer as his excuse, flashed him a smug look, and disappeared back to the front where his customer was sitting. The man seemed pretty laid back and alright.Â
He set the glass down in front of him then stepped back. "There you are sir. I'm actually really glad you came in. Since it's so slow our boss is making us clean the back spotless. If you weren't here I would be stuck back there with them"

Genma smiled at his waiter. A burger sounded like exactly what he needed at the moment.
“A cheeseburger would be awesome. Ya swear they’re good?”
He glanced around the restaurant, realizing he had somehow landed himself in an at least quasi-fancy establishment.
now unsure of his pick and chastising himself for yet again making dumb decisions by refusing to pay attention to what he was doing. The waiter seemed nice enough and a cheeseburger sounded delicious, so he decided he’d stay.
"Scouts honor" He held his hand up in the typical Boy Scout salute, schooling his face into a mock expression of seriousness. He gave him a smile and lowered his hand, resting it on the back of the other chair as he leaned against it.Â
"It is very good though. Plus, if you don't like it you can always give it to me". The burgers the only thing I really like in this place. The other food is good, but I'm not one to eat fancy food. Mostly because I can't afford it" He straightened up once more "So, one burger with fries I'm guessing. What would you like to drink?"

Genma strolled in the restaurant lazily. He had been starving since mid-afternoon, but had been too lazy to cook. His roommate was at work, and the need to satisfy his growling stomach had finally outweighed he lack of will to move, and thus he stood, waiting to be seated.
Eventually a hostess appeared and led him to a seat. The bartender flirted a bit with her before following her to a table. As the girl handed over the place’s menu, Genma realized he didn’t even know what type of restaurant he was in as he simply choose the closest, not overly-packed food provider that served alcohol to his apartment loft.
He really just wanted some booze with a side of food.
He eyed the menu, not sure what he wanted to eat, and decided to wait to ask the waiter for suggestions.
The sound of the door opening made the redhead straighten and glance towards the front. Finally, someone he could get money from. He stretched out his back as he watched the hostess lead him to a table in his section. The man didn't appear to be the type that usually came here. They usually got business men and women or people at the higher end of the money scale. The food they sold here tended to get pricey for people with normal incomes.Â
He gave a small shrug and made his way over to the man at the table, giving him a polite and completely fake smile. "Good afternoon sir. My name is Sasori and I'll be taking care of you today. Could I interest you in trying our hamburger? It's not actually on the menu, but they are the best in town"
Normally, he would suggest the most expensive thing on the menu, but this guy seemed like he was more into simple things rather then expensive foods. God knows Sasori preferred a simple meal to a complex one. He was fairly easy to please.Â
Slow Day at Work
It was times like this that Sasori hated being a waiter. Well, there were plenty of times he hated being a waiter. Like when he had to deal with stupid people, when he had to deal with drunk people, when he had to deal with rude people..but that was besides the point. He hated when it was as dead as it was right now. If he stayed in the back of the restaurant the managers would catch him and make him scrub the walls or something.Â
To avoid such a horrible fate he was hiding out in the dining area, pretending to go around and clean all of the tables. He went as slowly as possible to avoid doing extra work in the back with his co-workers. As much as he hated wasting his time like this, it was much better than wasting his time on his hands and knees cleaning under the counters in the back.Â

She finds herself unable to do anything but merely stare in response as the excitement becomes audible in his voice. He found the look on her face to be…captivating? Hell, she’d have never expected a compliment from him. A smile pulls at her own lips as she watches him begin to sketch out ideas on paper. It’s obvious that he has a great deal of passion for his work, and she can most certainly relate to that. His whole face seems to light up just at the thought of drawing, and drawing /her/ of all people. He looks…nice, when he’s smiling; she eventually decides. Is he…/blushing/?
“I can relate.” And she really can; it’s the same thing for her when it comes to physics. “Oh, there isn’t any need to pay me, really.” She looks a bit surprised that he’d even offered, waving a hand. “I have classes every day of the week, excluding weekends of course.” She pauses, considering her schedule which she hasn’t bothered to memorize very well. “I work at the dojo in the evenings, but I’m off on Tuesdays and Fridays.” Another pause. “My number? Ah, sure, yeah. Did you want me to write it down or…?”
It was just a little embarrassing to go on a rant like that in front of someone he hardly knew. He tried to keep his excited rants confined to his head but, every now and then he would forget himself in front of someone. It was okay if it was Deidara, the blonde hardly teased him about it anymore, but he hated showing that side of himself in public.Â
He cleared his throat and hurriedly slide the drawing pad to her along with his pencil. "Yeah, you can use this. I just offered to pay because it seemed like the decent thing to do. Night's will work best anyway, I was hoping to incorporate the night sky into this piece"Â

He opened his mouth to say something perverted in response, only to get interrupted. He frowned in irritation then pouted, but continued to listen anyway. He was surprised that his friend was asking for advice and being serious about it. He was more than welcome to help him out. Even though his best friend was a total dick to him, it felt nice to know his opinion mattered. He nodded and finished off his first bottle of beer. “Sure. Hit me with your best shot. Whatcha got in mind, hmm?”
He gave a small nod and opened up his sketch book to a blank page so he could illustrate exactly what he was talking about.Â
"Well I had two main ideas. Both of them would have to be here so uh..thanks in advance for letting me use your place" He smiled at his friend before continuing "When I saw her for the first time she was zoned out, thinking about the stars. The look on her face..that's what I want to capture. It was amazing. My first idea was I could just have her sitting at your giant ass windows at night. You have an amazing view of the night sky, I'm sure it would get that look from her once more. It wouldn't be anything too complex. Just her sitting on the floor and looking out at the sky, maybe touching the glass or something"Â
As he spoke, his hand was steadily working over the paper. In no time he had a rough doodle of a girl sitting at the windows and gazing out at the stars. He moved on to the next page as he started on his next idea.
"The other thought I had would involve more work for me. Instead of having her seated beside the window I was thinking of creating stars myself. Just simple cut outs in different colors and sizes. I'd string them up with fishing line from the ceiling and have her stand among them like it was her own little galaxy. I kind of like that idea, mostly because it would connect with the childlike wonder on her face when she thinks about the cosmos. I don't know if you think that would be stupid though. Or maybe you had another idea?" He looked up as he finished his outline of the girl amongst his homemade stars, reaching out to touch them.
Catching My Eye
“Religion?” She muses that over for a moment before shaking her head; tone light. “More like a sort of spirituality I’d say.” Surprisingly enough, she’s actually enjoying his company and conversation immensely. He doesn’t seem weirded out by her odd fascination with the cosmos.
That doesn’t stop her from nearly falling over in surprise at his request. He wants /her/ as a model? The thought seems a bit difficult to believe and she stares at him for a moment, jolted entirely from her pleasant revelry. It’s not that she’s too insecure about her appearance; she just doesn’t usually bother to put in the effort. And she knows that it shows.
“Umm…Sure?” She agrees, still blinking as she nods. “If you’re sure that you want to draw me, I’ve got no problem with that.”
Well that went better then he was expecting. She had even agreed! He couldn't help the smile that spread across his face at the good news. already his head was filling up with ideas on how to pose her and what he could have her do. Without thinking all of those thoughts proceeded to tumble right out of his mouth.
"Really? That's wonderful. Why wouldn't I want to draw you? The look you get on your face when you're contemplating the cosmos is absolutely captivating. I was trying to capture that look earlier but I didn't even start to do it justice. To do that I'll have to spend time and make a project out of it. I was thinking a painting. Probably more subdued colors, nothing too bright and dramatic. Well, maybe a bright splash of color in a small amount to bring something out. Maybe your eyes or lips. That's kind of played out though. Perhaps something in the background.." His eyes were practically shining, his fingers making quick sketches across his notebook. The pages were quickly becoming filled with different versions of stars, waxing and waning moons, and a whole slew of planets.
When he realized he was rambling and doodling witout paying her a single care he abruptly cut himself off. He cleared his throat and tried to ignore his flushing cheeks as he reluctantly met her gaze.
"Uh..sorry about that. When I get on a roll I tend to lose myself. Anyway, I'd be willing to pay you for your work. I can't afford much, probably about fifty dollars a day. If it's okay could I get your number? We could figure everything out and arrange a date"
Slumber Party (Closed)
He blinked when he recognized the name then smiled. Not bad. He was actually surprised he found a girl attractive. To be honest, he was starting to think he was leaning the other way. Not that it was a bad thing, but it explained a lot. “I actually know who she is, hmmm. I walked her home once. I’m impressed” He smiled, patting his friend on the back.
"I'm not sure if you should be impressed. We spent the first half of our conversation biting off each others heads. She had quite a mouth on her" He held up a hand as if to cut him off "And don't you dare make any kind of perverted comment about that. Don't even try to deny that you were going to"Â
He finally lifted his eyes to look at him with a half annoyed, half amused look on his face. "Odd that you would know her as well. It isn't that kind of thing though. I have no desire to be with her. I just want to paint her. She actually agreed to model for me even though she barely knows me. I have an idea for a piece though. Maybe you can tell me what you think?"Â
It was rare that he asked Deidara's opinion on any of his art. The two of them were just too different with their views. When he did seriously ask what he though the blonde would usually give a straight answer. Getting the thoughts of someone with a vastly different style could be helpful at times. Even if he didn't use any of his tips it could make him think of something that would vastly improve his work.
Slumber Party (Closed)
He raised his eyebrows in surprise as Sasori spoke about the girl. He blinked several times too, just to make sure he wasn't dreaming about this. Sasori, being social?? Surely the world was ending! He took another sip, hoping the alcohol wasn't getting to him. Though, he did have a pretty high tolerance to it. “Seriously? Was she hot? What’s her name, hmmm? Are you gonna nail her?” he grinned, grilling his poor socially inept best friend.
He could practically feel himself twitch in irritation at his barrage of questions. He should have known better then to tell this to him, this was bound to happen. Deidara was always bothering him about his social life, or lack thereof. Sasori didn't see why it was any big deal. Deidara was more then a handful already. Another friend like him would probably kill him.Â
"Yes seriously. She wasn't horrible to look at. Her name is Saya. Don't be a crude jackass. There are other things that are more important then sex"
