“Being observant is a wonderful skill to have, especially if you can apply it to all aspects of your life.” Adelaide certainly wishes there were times in her life that she’d been more discerning of those around her. Would have saved her a lot of trouble.
The tall woman who had been trailing behind falters in her steps, glowing eyes growing wide as she stares down at the young lady with a look of near-astonishment. She’s quick to catch herself, however, steeling her expression and straightening her lips into a straight line. She was absolutely right, unfortunately. Not that she could blame them. The Kingdom of Albion was more or less the same in some regards.
“No need to apologize. It’s understandable to have such strong feelings about your home.” She assures. Leaning down, she glances back at the squirrel that looked up at her. What a funny little creature.
“A-Abel?” She stammers, nearly choking on her words. Her lips split into a grin, the urge to laugh rising up. How appropriate of a coincidence. Hesitantly, she raises her hand towards him but stops just a few inches short out of politeness. “What a… nice name. May I pet him?”
Seth smiled a bit. It was nice to see people that could at least understand the reasons behind Imperial policy. She then looked to Abel and gave him a few scritches on the head. “Yup, named him myself.” Looking back at Adelaide, she nodded. “He’s a bit of a shy guy, but if you’re really careful, he might take a liking to you.”

❝ THE EMPIRE NEVER SLEEPS! ❞
“BECAUSE PEOPLE LIKE YOU ARE PLAYING DDR IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!”
*ahem* This is not derps, no.
This is a Trinity Blood joke I’ve been sitting on for like three years, and it was long past time I made this thing. (First comic of 2019 whoo!)
Seth is a meme queen, no one can tell me any different. Cut her some slack, Abel, she’s been waiting like 500 years for a chance to rickroll someone!
Special shout out to @sisternightroad! Your TB blog listing gave me the motivation kick I needed to finally set pen to paper for this! Thank you!

“Why would you do this to me, Abel? Memes have been dead for 800 years now.”
Glad to see the TB love still going strong since going dark about three years ago.

“Ah, am I that obvious?” She asks, unable to keep down an amused chuckle. Not that anyone would need to be that perceptive to tell that she was not from around. Adelaide tend to stand out when she wasn’t wearing her sunglasses to cover her eyes; most people notice a tall woman with heavy scars and glowing metal eyes. Partly why Adelaide wasn’t chosen to do many undercover missions.
“I appreciate that. However, it’s my understanding that the Terran are not to be harmed anywhere within Empire? Is that not taken to heart in all places?” It’s after she asks that she realizes she might have spoken too familiarly with this girl. She scoffs quietly, shaking her head. “My apologies, I don’t intend to offend. Just curious is all.”
The nun is drawn from her thoughts by a blur of white moving into her line of sight. Her optics settle on the fuzzy creature, eyes widening down at it.
“What do we have here?” She muses curiously, leaning just ever so slightly closer to look at it. Not that she needed to considering the range of her eyes, but it was more of a gesture than anything.
“I wouldn’t feel too bad about it. I’ve been told I’m too observant for my own good sometimes.” She looked to the squirrel and pet its head.
“Terran that are citizens of the Empire, yes. They’re not to be harmed. But outsiders are considered just that, people from the outside world. There are reasons the Methuselah of the outside are not allowed back into the Empire after they either choose to leave, or are banished. Peace is paramount here, and the risk of outsiders disturbing that peace, or bringing their wars to our borders is too high of a risk.” Seth gave a quick sigh before shaking her head. “Sorry, I really love my home...I’d never want to see the people here hurt in any way. I got carried away.”
The squirrel looks at Adelaide, giving a tilt of his head.
“This is Abel! He’s my pet squirrel.”

Picking her suitcase up from the sidewalk next to her, Adelaide trails behind the young lady within a reasonable distance. Although it was relieving to know she could take her where she needed to be, that relief was short-lived. Her steps falter and confusion writes itself over her face momentarily. No questions asked, what an odd thing for a girl this young to say.
“Ah, yes, that sounds perfect. Thank you….” Adelaide had to remind herself of where she was. A tense thought that prickled her nerves, nonetheless she was trying to keep a pleasant countenance. “I take it this city is your home?”
Seth turned around to face the newcomer. Maybe she shouldn’t have quite worded things the way she did, but the fact was, it was the safest place they could go to not attract attention.
“Sorry if it sounds a bit sketchy, but I figured an outsider like you might benefit from someplace that understands discretion.” She stretched a bit before continuing to walk, a little white squirrel climbing up her shoulder.
“Yeah, I’ve lived in Andolu for most of my life now. It’s where most Terrans live in the Empire after all. It’s a nice coexistence with the Methuselah, the most peaceful place for everyone I think.”

“Excellente!” That was comforting, hopefully the girl was being truthful in that regard. This place made her more nervous than she wanted to admit and she didn’t want to spend extra time wandering around. Finishing the last of her tea, she fishes a map of the city out of her pocket and unravels it for the both of them to see.
“I’m just looking for a hotel, if you would. Nothing too lavish.”
Taking the tea cup back from her customer, she began to clean it before returning it to a hook. Looking over the map presented to her, she looked it over. Taking a few minutes, she would take a few steps to see which street they were currently on.
“Come on, I know I perfectly good hotel a few blocks down. They don’t ask questions, and the rates are low.”

While she didn’t exactly have high expectations for street vendor tea after having the tea Sister Kate serves regularly, she accepts it with a polite nod of her head and a word of gratitude before taking a sip.
“Wow, it’s really good!” She blurts, her orange ‘irises’ growing wide. Clearing her throat and collecting herself as she goes for the young lady’s attention once again. “Sorry to bother so soon, but you are familiar with this area, no? I’m wondering if you could point me in the right direction.”
The tea seller would beam with pride with that reaction. It always felt good when people enjoyed the tea she made.
“I’m glad you enjoyed it.” She’d also giggle a bit as she watched her guest collect themselves. Seth would tilt her head to the side. “It’s no bother at all, I’m probably one of the best guides in all Andolu! Where are you trying to go?”

Mun: I realized two things when wanting to add…
Yeah, and then when you’ve made them all, you start falling behind on like most of them like me.
Mun: True as well…..my poor personal blog is collecting dust again. I mean, I can make another blog for Dietrich……..it’ll take forever to make cause of my work schedule and all….
//Yeah, I could list on my hand the number of blogs collecting dust as well. And yeah, work schedules are hard to work around this stuff.

“Sounds wonderful. I’ll have one, please.” She shuffles through her pockets until she finds her wallet, drawing out the two dinar for the young lady to take.
“Alright then!” She took a cup that was attached to the kettle and poured the tea into the cup with care. Passing the cup over to the newcomer as she took the money in turn and put it in a pocket. “Thank you very much, I hope you enjoy it.”

“Ah, tea does sound good. Bien, pardon, what sort of tea do you carry?”
“Only the finest brewed Turkish tea this side of the Empire! Brewed it myself in fact.” The young tea seller beamed with pride.
“Come one, come all! We have tea, only two dinar!”
