It's lowkey scary how when I'm being mistreated or disrespected by a complete stranger, I'm so good at defending myself and standing up for what I deserve but when it's someone who I love and hold deep affection for... I can't do the same.

I let them use me at their convenience, walk all over me, limbs tired and mouth aching with a million tortured thoughts and bitter words I wish I could scream at them. But I never do. Somehow losing them feels worse than the freedom I'd get from standing up for myself.

I rather be tolerated than discarded completely.
