id even go to say that if stranger things WAS written specifically with mileven in mind and not as a slowburn queerbait, it would easily solo every other ship and pairing in the entire show. because they DO have potential, and if it was a different story with different writing, then of course they'd be good for eachother!! they'd be amazing for eachother! unfortunately, the duffers didnt know what they were writing and changed their minds about literally everything at the last possible second. so uh.

Katsuki and Toga pushed Deku and Ochako towards each other!
"...I hope you know that I love you, Ochako. That's why I wanna push you to love too!"
Toga knows that Ochako is in love with Deku, so she pushes her forward, past the guilt of asking for more than she has. Thus, Toga acknowledges that what Ochako already has isn't enough – her life isn't complete without that love - without Deku.
This episode title, 'More', is a double entendre — not only does it add 'more' context to the 8 yr time skip, but also reflects on Deku and Ochako's mutual wish to talk (and therefore be with each other) 'more' often.
The girl who lives off love helps the one she loves most to pursue her deeply buried love too. After all, true love isn't selfish. Toga tries to get Ochako to realise that taking steps towards the one she loves wouldn't forsake her duty as a hero, because love is exactly what saved both of them. Ochako was saved by Toga's love cos of the blood transfer, and Toga was saved by Ochako's love cos of complimenting her smile instead of questioning her for it. Being called cute instead of a monster. Now she lives happily as a vestige within Ochako, and she can smile as much as she wants without being shamed for it.
Now, Toga pushes Ochako towards her love, hoping that it will free her from her guilt. That it will keep her happy forever, the same way she is now that she's a part of Ochako.
That Deku's love will save her, just like Toga's did.
"What I'm saying is that if everyone's special to you, nobody is."
Deku is who he is cos he loves everyone and everything so unconditionally. But Katsuki gets him to realise something important - you can't love everyone the same. Sometimes you gotta put your own wants and needs first, and this is advice for Deku cos he struggles with that a LOT. As Katsuki said, if a selfless person doesn't put themselves first sometimes, they'll miss out on a lot, and they won't get to live their life to the fullest!
The way Deku looked at Ochako when he thought about what Katsuki said to him makes it clear that she is the person he wants to put forward. He won't be able to pursue his love and talk to her more if he doesn't start putting her above everyone else. Otherwise, she'll be just another person, and that's not the case in Deku's eyes.
I mean, look at those eyes. Whenever they look sparkly like this, I am officially gonna call it "the look of love".
He runs after Ochako with Katsuki's words in mind, and with that, the two hearts that beat for others...

this is like. the most insanely complex and tragically well written thing EVER oh my gosh. WHAT THE HECK. I CANT EVEN BE MAD ABOUT THIS BECAUSE LIKE. its not queerbaiting or bad writing, its just TRAGEDY. oh my god long rant incoming.
so yeah, the "straight couple" ends up endgame, the popular queer ships are kind of used as plot devices to get them together (well not really but for the sake of simplicity ill say this), WHATEVER. WHO CARES. because in this case, the implications/truths of how this happened ACTUALLY TEACHES A REALISTIC AND VALUABLE LESSON while staying narratively consistent and well written in relation to the 8 season plot that has ended well, surprisingly. like this person said, THE TWO PEOPLE WHO CARE ABOUT DEKU/OCHACO THE MOST end up pushing them together because they can never be with the person that they care about, and in the case that they could, it would just end up in tragedy because... well, lets think about it for a minute.
toga was a villain who spent her life chasing both ochaco and deku, pushing their boundaries as heroes to see how far they'd be willing to go to save even someone who was intentionally out to actively harm them, only really ever wanted love, and died saving the person she loved the most as a final act of redemption.
katsuki actively bullied deku his entire life, made just existing difficult for him because of his insanely fragile ego and internal struggle with masculinity as well as the fear of being embarassed or one-upped by the one person who essentially got everything he ever wanted. they eventually started to understand eachother, became rivals and then friends, but katsuki blamed himself for most of the bad stuff that happened to deku and the people deku cared about for like 99% of that time.
so even in the case that bkdk and togachaco WERE canon, OBVIOUSLY we are looking at terribly unhealthy, tragic dynamics unable to be saved by the narrative. the case here is actually "right person, wrong circumstances," because despite how much both of these people have been canonically shown to care about the other, it can never actually pay off in any other form except love that pushes them to become the absolute best version of themselves possible. while the idea of a canon lesbian and gay couple in this anime is obviously AWESOME, i cant really be upset at the writers choices because it actually makes perfect sense considering both arcs. while i dont think deku and ochaco NEEDED to end up in a relationship necessarily, i do think its a good thing that they did, because it means that toga and katsuki actually served a purpose and that the entire fandom isnt fucking crazy for clocking that the strong feelings both of them had (whether technically canon or not) were important to the story. i think its kind of beautiful how the two people who cared about them the most ended up encouraging them to pursue a shot at actual love because even if ochaco wakes up next to him in the middle of the night or deku's top song on his spotify wrapped is mr loverman at least they both used what they learned from the tragic, forbidden love they were given to build something real and possible.
and that, ladies and gentlemen, is how NOT to queerbait and upset your gay audience while including meaningful representation, following through on your writing, not having gay endgame ships and finalizing the main hetero couple, and making it satisfying to literally every viewer no matter which side they are on. hats off to the writers, im genuinely happy with the way this anime finished.

Ochako and Toga's connection transcends life and death
I'm an anime only, but I think I realise why Ochako is seeing Toga here in this field.
I'm guessing this is her vestige. The last remaining parts of her are living inside of Ochako after giving her all of her blood.
She defo still remembers the day she lost Toga like it was yesterday.
As long as blood runs through Ochako's body, Toga's spirit resides within her - which is what I'd like to think - but, as the biology student that I am, I can't help but wonder that after 8 entire years, wouldn't the blood cells donated by Toga have all died and been replaced by Ochako's own blood cells? If so, then she's lost all physical aspects of Toga. Her vestige probably still remains cos it's separate from the physical body and she loves Ochako so much that she wouldn't wanna part with her.
Maybe her vestige remains as long as Ochako is still alive. And Ochako wouldn't be alive if it weren't for Toga giving up all her blood.
So, in a poetic way, this is an example of a symbiotic relationship - one so strong it transcends the living world - where they've both depended on each other to survive.

i believe that it is a lie to say that those of a religious heart were the ones who said that being gay gets you sent straight to hell. not a single straight person could possibly understand that loving with the intensity of a million suns burning and shining for a single earth is an incomprehensible hell on its own. when i first discovered my capability to love only the gender that i am far too familiar with, i truly was damned for eternity.

I've known their real names from the beginning. Some people have figured out Kinger's real name. I think I've only seen one person guess Pomni's name, I think I saw someone guess Zooble's name for the wrong character, and I've seen one person guess Ragatha's name, but that's all so far.

"doomed yuri is harmful because it isnt realisti-" okay you can shut up now. im a lesbian, proud wlw over here, and i am not here to speak on behalf of all wlws in the world, but merely myself, when i say that doomed yuri is 100% realistic and i have been SEARCHING for a tragic love story between two woman that isnt the entire plot but is significant nonetheless within the plot except the plot doesnt focus on being queer and rather normalizes it by incorporating it into an already complex story that explores many socio-political issues and develops audience attachment to several well written characters. trigger warning, this post is NOT about arcane. "b-b-but if you want that, you should watch arcane-" okay thats enough out of you I WILL WATCH ARCANE HOLD YOUR HORSES this post is about mha. *dramatic "aww" sound effect plays* oh no, did that scare some of you off? im sorry. i know the words "my hero acadamia" are basically slurs after what 2020 did to the world but heres an idea for you! if you dont wanna read a post about my hero acadamia, then dont read a post about my hero acadamia. but if you do want to read a post about doomed yuri, then keep reading, because thats what im going to be talking about. specifically, MY experiences with finding an incredible, beautiful, wonderful, tragic, not at all healthy doomed yuri incorporated into a plot dominated by implied, fanon doomed yaoi that never even ended up canon anyways. what a shame. i came to my hero acadamia for the yaoi in the first place knowing damn well it wasnt gonna be canon yet i still wish it was. came for the yaoi stayed for the yuri type shit. and okay, lets be honest for a second. it is SO incredibly ironic that a blatantly transphobic, sexist writer was somehow able to curate not only the most famous and iconic non-canon tragically doomed yaois of all time, but somehow one of the best written CANON yuris as well??? woah. dont get me wrong, i hate how this guy wrote the two transgender characters because obviously... well, their transphobic. and yeah all the woman are written in sexist ways (most, sorry. not all) but its not even all that bad for typical anime (not saying this is a good thing) and to say the yuri and yaoi makes up for it is well false. issues are issues nonetheless but BOY oh boy have i yearned for yearning like this for as long as i've been alive. to find a story that so perfectly captures the experience of growing up only craving one thing and that one thing is love from someone you will never get it from while metaphorically showing how the innate biological NEED for something that society deems as "wrong" destroys you because it internally isolates you which in turn actually isolates you from everyone else you care about... its genuinely an eye opening experience. toga's need for blood is obviously literal, but can be metaphorically interpreted as so many things. blood could be revenge or power. blood could be love. blood could be friendship. blood could be stability, or money, or fame, or glory, but do you want to know how i interpreted blood in her story? her biological need for blood translates with my need to receive love from somebody the same gender as me. did i just take a literal aspect of a queer characters story and turn it even more queer through symbolism and interpretation? hell yeah, because art is meant to be interpreted. and so many more apsects of what ive found in this story resonate with me even more. obsession. jealousy. infatuation. lust. everything that feels "dirty" or "wrong" that is so often villainized, it actually feels healing to see a mentally unwell character who has very blatantly obvious traits that are not meant to be portrayed in a positive way that deeply resonate with me written as a villain instead of a hero. to me, toga perfectly captures the honest desperation of being in love with a straight girl who doesn't return the feelings you hold in the same way. the pure, unfiltered, raw desperation. desperation to the extent where you would literally do anything to get her to prove that she cares.
the key word here is she.
there are so many toxic love stories about jealousy, obsession, love, desperation, and tragedy. but so very few of these stories are well written, and even fewer involve non-sexistly written female characters. and only a much smaller, much more impossible number of those stories involve both parties being woman. and this one is the only one ive found that feels real to me because its like watching an over-exagerated version of my life play out in real time. it is not beautiful to relate to the villain. it is not fun or edgy to relate to somebody crazy. it does not make me the alpha to see myself in somebody mentally unwell. and it does not make me different to relate to the heart wrenching attraction to woman who will never see me in the same way. all of these things are very common, very real experiences that should not ever be glorified or romanticized. its terrible, actually, the only thing i am romanticizing about this is how poetically beautiful it is that i finally found a piece of media that represents how i love and what i go through to try and feel loved. if anything, toga suffered a much happier fate then me, because at least dying actually did get uraraka to admit that she truly cared about her. she got her proof in the end, and even if it wasnt real, which we will never know if it was, she finally did get to experience real love in the last moments of her life. tragic queer love stories should not be the 'norm' as to what is experienced in real life, but seeing it in the media i come to love should be more normalized as it is not that difficult to accept that not everybody has positive or reciprocated experiences with love. every single one of my own personal love stories have ended in tragedy. its comforting to see myself in popular media. its why i as well as so many others became so attached to byler before it got nerfed in the last season. because i held on to will byers in hope that he would finally get to experience the love i never had. unfortunately, i learned that representation often comes in the most unexpected ways. dont go looking for exclusively queer media to find accurate representation, because chances are, if you are anything like me, you wont find solace in reciprocated teenage love stories.

idc. i miss my ex friend group a little more when i have time sit down and scroll through all the instagram dumps i shoulve been a part of but wasnt because the people i refuse to let go of finally have a reason to leave me out of things now that we arn't close anymore. i miss our little og group of four that i created in the fourth grade until i remember that its been 7 years now and i'll never be able to go back. if i had to go back in time and talk to my ten year old self, how could i tell her that we arn't friends anymore? that our dreams of growing up in high school together and being in the same class and hanging out would never come true because in growing up we lost our minds and let fear tear us apart? how could i tell my younger self that it was my fault? how could i look her in the eye and say that i hurt my friends because i was too focused on myself that i couldnt see what was going on with anybody else?
and i especially miss them a little more when i remember that the people i call my "opps" were actually just little kids at my birthday party once too. one in particular who i remember calling my friend. the 5th grade may have been some time ago, but i liked him a lot better when were friends working on some project together at eachothers houses and not ruining eachothers lives because of a misunderstanding. he was so sweet. and so funny. i miss when he was one of the kids in elementary school who i would always tell my mom was one of the "good ones." one of the nice, kind, responsible kids who i always wanted in my class because i wanted to be friends with him. fuck. it pains me. it actually pains me, to actually sit down and think about how we hate eachother now. well, i dont hate him. i dont think ill ever be able to hate him. or the girls he's friends with who hate me too. those nice, sweet, girls. who even my closest friend right now is friends with. how did we go from childhood friends to enemies with beef so horrific it's actually driving my oldest friendships apart? i wish i was different. so i couldve done things differently. and we couldve been friends instead of fighting over... nothing. anymore.

EPISODE 44. SEASON THREE. IM SOBBING. IM SO GLAD I STARTED WATCHING THIS SHOW.
ive made a couple posts already updating my super late-to-the-party mha viewing and i will continue to do so because its genuinely so amazing. i see a lot of posts, especially on reddit, and other areas of the internet clowning on the show and the fandom because of well the fandom and the "surface level writing" but i would like to take this moment to strongly disagree with those two points making it a "bad show." first of all, surface level writing doesnt have to be a bad thing, ever. if the writing is genuinely good and explores deep, complex, and important topics, WHO CARES how surface level it is? a show doesnt need 2000 metaphors and similes within the span of 20 very slowly paced, vague episodes to be considered good writing. as long as a piece of writing knows what it wants to be and follows through on it, its usually good. sure, nothing in mha is written in code. and thats honestly kind of refreshing (i say as an AP english student).

guys i just watched episode 24 of mha and holy moly how have i NOT been watching this show for this many years???
i know i missed peak 2020 tiktok era where everyone shipped bakugo, deku, and todoroki with eachother and had really sick cosplays and the bakudeku slime incident and the cringe audios and peak edits and i deeply regret that but GUYS lemme be late to the party okay 😭
i just needed to come on here and say HOW DEEPLY SORRY I AM for holding out on watching this show because tell me WHY we are barely one and half seasons in and todoroki already surpasses 99% of the filler characters, npcs, and even maybe the main characters themselves in terms of writing. like GUYS its not even funny. the writers are trying to hype deku up SO MUCH and make him seem like he's this super incredible, fascinating guy with so much potential which like, i was definitely buying in season one and the start of season two, but then they kinda screwed themselves over and wrote todoroki in who would arguably make TEN TIMES BETTER of a main character then deku would. because okay, maybe deku has ambition and drive and hes a chronically good person (most of the time) which is like, fine, i guess. hes a lesson in motivation and hard work for sure, but the main thing the writers really seem to be emphasizing here is how he has like. no motivation outside of "i just want to become a hero because its my dream and im a good person and i wanna surpass all might" which is like okay fine, but COME ON. i would much rather have a main character who is actually trying to accomplish something meaningful by becoming a hero, like hmm. TODOROKI?? lets see. we have "i wanna do this for the sake of doing this and also become better then all might cause uh idk he saw potential in me?" vs "i wanna do this to break out of my family's abusive lineage of forced marriages for quirk breeding, assault, and mental health issues driven by a genuinely selfish and evil guys desire for power by proving to not only myself but my evil dad and the world that i can break this traumatic cycle of abuse and power farming by rewriting my own sense of self and using my overwhelming and arguably coolest power in the show for the better." not to diss deku, hes one of the few underdog main characters in anime i dont hate with a burning passion, but COME ON. i mean, the only other thing that really adds to deku's interest as a character is freaking bakugo, who like. is already way better written just on his own anyways. not to be a d1 hater but is it crazy to say that the concept of platonic/romantic bakudeku literally makes the show like ten times more emotionally complex and interesting to invest yourself in. for a character driven story, there are for SURE weak spots in mha. but overall, my point currently stands that todoroki is THE BEST character, coolest design, coolest power, coolest backstory, and the BEST character motivation out of anyone! also ive decided im willing to ignore some of the sexist writing choices when it comes to writing and designing the woman because ochaco is just that goated of a female deuteragonist (im a woman, so dont slime me in the comments for talking about sexism or overlooking it. im also familiar with how woman are usually written in anime so. like. the bar wasnt that high to begin with). also for once, the slow burn straight romance might not make me wanna pull my hair out cause i actually LIKE her and deku's friendship 😭 i think bakudeku, like, the concept of bakudeku cause thats really all it ends up being, is arguably way more complex and well written, and its a shame they didnt chose to explore that in later seasons cause the potential is kinda crazy, but alas, i dont wanna get slimed out so yes i know its slightly problematic blah blah blah not everything needs to be gay blah blah blah character development whatever guys can be friends without yaoi shippers ruining it blah blah ive heard it all. that being said, i highly recommend you read "the way you used to do" on ao3 if you do enjoy the concept of bakudeku, because i read it recently, and despite the fact that its a SLOW slow burn, it kept me up late at night and is beautifully well written. one of my all time faves on that website for sure. fixes literally everything wrong with the pairing but doesnt change the tension and dynamic. nobody is written OOC, but like. there is a lot of cringe swearing from bakugo.

...which are all forms of DIRECT COMPUTER REPLACEMENT of human thinking and creativity. when the tool is used to further DEVELOP creative human thinking, it becomes a little bit different. for example, some instances that i DO NOT see a problem with include
a high school student using ai to help teach themselves a complex subject like math that maybe their teacher doesnt explain that well
developing complex thoughts and ideas about a subject by having it reflect your thoughts back to you so that you can develop a stronger understanding of what you are trying to say
which are both examples of when human thinking is still the basis of the usage rather then direct replacement. OVERusage or over dependence on ai however, is inherently harmful to both the environment and your mind, and this can be proven in literally SO many ways. but using it for a valid purpose occasionally shouldnt be as villainized as it is. the only thing we need to denormalize is generative ai like ai generated images, sounds, music, videos, art, writing, school work, and the replacement of human jobs. and also the overdependence on it for things that you really should be able to do by yourself. if you need a chatbot to figure the easiest shit out for you, or to write a 2 page essay, then your cooked and you need to lock in. destroy ai art, stop using generative ai when we could be using our brains, but yall shouldnt feel like horrible people for using it occasionally for EDUCATIONAL and i say EDUCATIONAL because it shouldnt be doing any work for you (!!!) purposes.
that being said, dont take this post as "omg she supports ai lets cancel her" like no i fucking dont. i dont "support" the use of it at all. trust me, i had a whole tweakout when a social studies teacher at my school used it ONCE for an assingment. but i dont think the educational usage of it should be villainized, is all im saying. its not an all or nothing opinion to have, nor do i think it should be. if the responsible occasional usage of it helps you enhance your creative thinking, then by all means, dont feel like your destroying the human capacity to think. but i mean if you do use it to do stuff for you then yeah u suck. and i dont wanna see ANY ai shit on this app. hope this made sense.
ive genuinely never been happier to leave a recently released, post-finale, cliffhanger-ass episode of a show traumatized instead of angry. stranger things has genuinely ruined me, and it is SUCH a gift to lowkirkenuinely be blessed with a writer who isnt afraid to commit to her own story and actually answer questions. shoutout to gooseworx for making me want to rewatch the entire show tonight with the context of episode 8 in mind instead of dreading ever having to consume such media again in my life (cough cough cough COUGH stranger things cough cough) because fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on the duffer brothers or whatever the saying is.
