yeah 2d art is hard…….but modding (with textures and 3d components, adding them to the game, and then taking steps to make sure that things work properly) is far harder then 2d art by virtue of the troubleshooting elements alone…or even just by virtue of using Blender and that’s the fax

I don’t think anyone who’s not doing it as a job actually pays for the big name 3D programs; if you see modders using 3DS Max it’s probably a cracked copy.

Personally I prefer Blender to other 3D programs I’ve tried anyway, but if you have a student ID you should be able to get a free student version of 3DS Max.

Since I’m not really that great at digital art and happen to be a known pencil wizard instead, I’m doing a few sketch commishes to hopefully make a few coints that’ll go towards helping with living expenses since the aids treatment I’m getting is kinda costly atm. Even if you cannot afford one, it would still help me immensely if you were to spread the word!

Busts/portraits are around $20 and Halfbody are around $30 USD, depending on desired level of detail.

hot fukin take: given how Vivec seems very ready to hand over the reins to the Nerevarine at this time (which I think is also bc they’re tired after being left to manage the Ghostfence and stuff, basically alone), the persecution of the Nerevarine thing really strikes me as the Tribunal (or more specifically, Vivec) testing the incarnates until one strong enough/qualified enough/able to fulfill the prophecies comes forward to address the 6th House threat. also, ordinators/armigers/inquisitors would be potatoes compared to the challenge of the sharmat and the flesh-divine-warped 6th house creatures. ofc it was also partially bc they were afraid of the Nerevarine being 100% brainwashed by the 3 daedra/used as the 3 daedras’ tool to take back their influence from theTribunal, as well. this theme of testing also happens to be a recurring one in the dunmer/chimer belief systems.

Oh yeah, this is definitely how I’ve been interpreting it. Vivec knows at some point he’s going to have to hand over Wraithguard, and they only get one shot at breaking the enchantments on the Heart; if that Nerevarine goes and dies to Dagoth Ur, it’s incredibly unlikely that they’ll be able to get the tools back again. They want to gain as much influence and control over the nerevarine as possible (and also make sure they don’t side with Dagoth Ur, which Vivec definitely thinks of as a genuine possibility, I wonder why...)

Reducing the information available also makes it easier to spot the real nerevarine - if the information about the prophecies was know and anyone could freely go around claiming to be the neravarine, there’d be even more false incarnates.

So deep and perfect was his slumber that Almalexia doubted he would notice her presence at all; nonetheless, she slipped quietly under their covers, and wriggled up beside him, keeping a polite distance, but placing her hand against his back.

Then she lay perfectly still, eyes open, her face resting on one hand, her hand resting between the man’s shoulder-blades. She watched his face in the moonlight and she counted his breaths.

Indeed, Nerevar slept like a log, if a log were noisy. But his breaths remained deep and even as Almalexia counted them. When ninety-nine deep breaths had been counted, and her husband hadn’t stirred once, Almalexia decided that he had well and truly passed into Moonshadow for the night. Slowly, with careful movements, she sat up and arranged her pillows in the space she had just lain, beneath the covers. Then she slipped out of bed as carefully and quietly as she’d entered it.

In front of him the corner, red as rust and clayed and smeared. Palmprints showed at its edges in the daylight that crept down the tunnel behind him. The sectioned ghosts of fingers, caking the colour onto it, and themselves made of colour. It was hard to stare at. Like it had a gaze of its own looking back at you. Simra turned his eyes and they settled on the tips of his fingers, nails undered with black. Disgusting.

“It needs blood?” Somehow he’d known, in some back-dark cloister of his brain. Of course it did. He tried to say it like it was nothing, but feeling came in at the hems of his voice. Interest, apprehension, stirred and muddled. “Why?”
