Needed a quick project to pacify my stress and anxiety before sleeping.
082514: Craft Coffee Revolution If there's one thing I'm sure of, I am always game to try new coffee shops around the metro. Today Paolo and I visited two shops in QC for The Start. One of which is Craft Coffee Revolution. I've been hearing a lot of good things about this place and I'm glad that it did not disappoint me.
Craft's cappuccino is probably the best artisanal cappuccino I have ever tasted. There was a perfect blend of acidity and sweetness in the cup. I felt like I didn't have to worry about my hyper acidity at the moment because it wasn't too strong (which is an important factor for me). As much as I want to describe this coffee, I am limited by my knowledge and experiences in the coffee brewing industry. I'd really love to know more about it though. Anyway, finally crossing this off my list!
Try: Cappuccino and Frozen Brazo de Mercedes.

081914: Thesis Workspace Been really sick lately but I have to hustle aka do thesis and internship work simultaneously.
081214
Hoarding glasses and mugs inside my room because I've been bumming a lot lately. Only went out to see my hypochondriac friend to accompany her to the hospital and to get some sushi and burger in Makati afterwards. 081314
August has been really good. We finally passed thesis already! What's left is thesis writing and one more term for our output and internship. Also, I've been very emotional lately because my brother's wife is pregnant! Our family's been waiting for this moment for a long time already and I can't believe I'll be an aunt real soon!
081414
Tea and late night conversations. Plus good music and warmth.
081514
Hung out with my high school friends over beer, 40 floors up, just like how we planned it. Coming of age decisions and conversations about the future is always frightening and exciting at the same time. I live for nights like this... and early morning shoots the next day. So excited for our new project.
Last April, I made this movie poster for my friends' thesis film. Today, I found out that their film is part of the Philippine Consulate General's (New York) Sinehan sa Summer 2014! How great is that, really!
I've worked with Harry, Czam, and Chloei in TeamComm during AY 13-14. I can attest to how hardworking and passionate these people are toward their craft. So happy that they have trusted me with the design of their film. Even if I haven't had the chance to watch it yet, I know that the film is really promising. I'm also giddy that my design is somewhere in NYC right now. (Really really feeling emotional about this, huhu.) I'm looking forward to catching it during our organization's annual film fest!
Anyway, if you're in New York right now, you might want to catch Sisiw this coming August 13, 2014 at Philippine Center, NYC. Sinehan sa Summer 2014 will be from August 11 to 15, 2014. Admission is free, just send an email to [email protected] to reserve a seat.
Sisiw (My Pet Chick) is a short film about a family that relies on luck and activities that produces easy money as their source of income. The youngest child, a 6-year-old boy, tries to make his family realize the importance of long term solutions rather than continually depending on easy money.

For the rainy weather.
080414: Rainy days and Mondays
Today, Belle and I met up to finish a video we've been planning to work on for weeks. It was drizzling outdoors and it was also extra windy but we still decided to walk instead of grabbing a cab because obviously, we make good choices in life.
Spotted another "why" upon crossing the street. This is our second why graffiti in 2 weeks. The first one we saw was at BGC when we went out with DC last week.
We originally planned to spend the whole afternoon at Yardstick but when we arrived there it was closed for some staff training. (We kind of braved the weather for nothing.) Thankful though that Toby's Estate is nearby so we ended up staying there instead. Toby's is actually my favorite third wave coffee joint. I'm no coffee expert but their coffee just stood out from the rest.
Finally some warmth after the rainy walking session we did earlier. Here's a hot cup of Flat White coffee and a decadent chocolate cupcake to go with it.
Highlight of the day: Belle and I got a little bit emotional in public and kind of cried while we were talking about the changes in our lives. This is really cheesy and we're not really cheesy, you know. Honestly we did more talking and eating more than editing but we're kind of 90% done with the video.
I'm always happy to spend time with this weirdo even if I see her almost every week (or day even). Her recent personal advocacy is about valuing every moment she spends with her loved ones because at this point in our lives (where everything is changing) she knows that every moment is not going be the same for everyone anymore ... And I really couldn't agree more.
080114: The Offspring
Here's my first ever contribution for Young Star! I feel incredibly happy that I have had this opportunity. Been following the publication for a while now and it feels kind of surreal to be able to take photos for them. It's also my first time to get published on the local newspaper, wah! What a way to start my month!

080214: Hello again
Today I have finally decided that it is time for me to keep a personal blog. I'd like to think that I'm more of a visual person than a writer ... and yes, this mindset continually hinders me from developing my writing skills. I'm not exactly sure how it happened but when I started taking my majors, I feel like I have forgotten to write casually. Maybe I wrote too much academic papers or maybe I was simply intimidated by others that I chose to quit writing and started to focus on aesthetics instead. So to be really honest, I am quite terrified how I'm going to maintain this blog.
Anyway, onset of the year, I've set a few goals for myself and I'm quite happy to say that I have achieved a few already. Today, I was able to talk to my parents after the longest time and I'm excited for my five-year plan. Well, I still don't have a "concrete" plan yet but things are looking positive. Goal is to graduate by 2015, continually improve myself, build my portfolio, gather enough confidence, and also continually stray away from the "system". From there, hopefully, I can bravely say I'm ready for 2016.
Lastly, after getting over my "is it too unpleasant" issues, I caved in to putting this sticker on my laptop. This will serve as a constant reminder to question everything I do and if whatever I'm doing is good.
