ย ย ย Countless times the excuses were repeated like a mantra,ย โItโll be just like living surrounded by friends or a big family,โ andย โItโs quiet and weโll feel much closer there.โ
ย ย ย ย ย Sina knew the truth though no matter how hard her parents tried to cram this idea of fellowship down her throat: her dad had been fired and theyโd fled the city to avoid the scandal that he claimed was all falsehood. ย Whether or not it was, the sixteen year old didnโt know nor care since she would always love him anyway and trust what their small family of three thought was best for them.
In practice though... it was a terrible time rather often.
ย ย ย ย ย Previous schools had their drawbacks of course, but private school could only ever match it in itโs small student attendance and the things she saw and heard from the others her age and even younger would impress even the most hardened of city dwellers. ย There were rumors she knew were true like a kidโs stomach getting carved up with a pocket knife and even things she saw for herself, Richie Tozier using phrases that would make her own grandmother burst into tears.
ย ย ย ย ย However, of all the locals that came close to her age, the one she found most unsettling was none other than the teen sheโd been stupid enough to knock a shoulder against in an attempt to avoid Greta who seemed to take an interest in digging through reasons her family moved to Derry. ย Sina froze in dread, staggering from the contact and her mouth went dry just as the conditioned apology was about to escape her lips.
ย ย ย ย ย The thought of his infamous pencil case of flies bubbles to the forefront of her mind making her gulp with revulsion,ย โO-Oh... I didnโt... Iโm sorry,โ
AS TOLD BY DARKO PROMO MADE BY @zcgzwang
henry-bowers:
โHeheheh, Ooohhh, Iโm shakinโ โere.โ Henry gave a cold smirk towards his friend and shakes his head. โI think it suits ya a little bit more, but if it really busts your balls then Iโll call ya yer actual name.โ Henry was nineteen years old but still acted like he was a prepubescent kid. If there was anything that the asylum didnโt really bother was for the patients to get a proper education. Though that would be too much wouldnโt it? If a goose laid golden eggs at their doorsteps maybe the faculty would give a shit to actually give them good food and some education. Just speaks the childish nature of the adults. โNo need to get serious. Who knows, maybe I can teach ya on how to actually have some fun in this shit hole. What do ya say, Tig? You up for it?โ
To Tigโs credit and sometimes his downfall, it was easy to get on his good side just as quick as his bad.ย His eyes go bright again and he leans in to give a small playful bump of their shoulders to make his upturned mood even more obvious.ย Funny how just a small gesture could completely change the tone of the conversation...
โYou mean itโs possible??ย Here I thought best you could hope you had for a laugh is if some sorry sap has a conniption,โ He grins, jittery at the show of camaraderie that he had been lacking over the past year.ย Of course heโd gotten a few moments like this... but they mostly ended in bitter disappointment and plenty of bruises.
โLead the way, boss man,โ
henry-bowers:
โHeh, if they were to make a shitty documentary about me, I would probably get a hell of a lot more sympathizers, but I donโt need fuckinโ pity. Iโm in this shit fest, and only god knows of when Iโll get out.โ Henry sighed almost in a content matter, almost as if heโs sounding like heโs used to everything around him. Despite the age he was back then, asylumโs would spare no mercy on children. Treating them like a test subject more than a patient if not worse. Drugging them to the point where they become unresponsive. Zombies walking on the cold tile floor, obeying commands as they should be. If one becomes a problem, it comes with much more fatal consequences. Henry had to face many of them physically. All of them caused by Koontz. A man warden of the asylum that has hated his guts since day one. Still does to this day. Probably always will. Hopefully Tig will have it easy, not that Henry cared. โMy dad? Hm.โ Henry hummed, โThe better question is, kid. What didnโt he do?โ โTake it from me, kiddo, raising your son to be a little bastard could have your neck sliced in a mere second because you think that treat him like shit is the best way to raise him.โ
Well he knew sympathizers werenโt always the most fun to deal with but they were a hell of a lot better than everyone else who just looked at you like some kind of freak or monster.ย There was no way to tell how accurate the recounting of crimes would be from the other man though the comments on his father gave him a vague idea that at least in that regard they had some small shred in common.
โGuess I couldnโt say thatโs a winning strategy of parenting... but I doubt he thought youโd actually turn on him, I bet.ย Maybe just wanted you to be afraid to do it.โย In that regard, Tig could respect him.
Theย โkidโ comments were grating on his nerves though, still assuming they were around the same age even if Henry was something of a veteran here in Juniper Hills.ย Hell, if anything Tig was a few inches taller so he canโt help but move in a bit closer and glance down with a colder expression than before.
โCโmon Bowers, you know my name... try using it before I actually bother getting annoyed,โ
Just a couple of scrappy boys... Forever thankful for @henry-bowers rping with my problematic OC, FIGURED IโD DRAW THEM A BIT SCUFFED UP, Henryโs hair baffles me.
henry-bowers:
Henry grinned at him as if he was proud to have struck a nerve on Tig. Thatโs all that he was mostly there anyways. To annoy the shit out of the other inmates out of pure boredom if the dimples on the cylinder wall wasnโt enough to keep his mind at bay from losing the only thread of sanity it has. Needless to say, Henry was running out of good saps to mentally mess with. Many would think that he wouldโve learned his lesson by now, but with the years heโs been in the caged hell hole, why does it even matter anymore as far as looking to get out? He has given that up a couple of years ago when he had turned eighteen years old. Still imbalanced mentally, he looked for other ways to pass the days. Tig seemed to be his new play toy. The more words he was spewing the more he was interested. Not that he really cared to spill about his crimes and what not. He could use a smoke though if only they had given the patients a fair amount of time of breaks and some cigarettes available. Too much to ask these days. Henry could only give out a sigh before rolling his eyes, chewing his inner cheek. โKilled my dad when I was fourteen. Bastard had it cominโ. Then some mother fucker framed me for the numerous killinโs of the missing or dead kids from my hometown. So, in short, I have been in here for a long ass time. Got any other questions, amateur?โ
โFourteen....โย The way he says that word is riddled with more emotion than heโd honestly care to show, visibly panicked by the idea a kid fresh into his teenage years managing to kill his own flesh and blood.ย Of course he couldnโt be a hypocrite considering his own circumstances but managing it that young was honestly unnerving to him.ย ย
Regardless, there had to be something real fucked up about the system if a fourteen year old landed himself in this hell, bypassing any juvenile facility and thrown straight here, mass murderer or not.ย They were supposed to be soft on brats.
Heโs quiet for a moment, frozen in place with his hands stuffed in his empty pockets, pinching the liner with a bit more vigor than normal.ย Tig finally glances back Henryโs way, a bit more guarded than before,ย โThat age and qualified as a serial killer?ย Think I woulda heard of you... or at least thereโd be a shitty documentary about it,โ
Thereโs one last curious detail heโs just bold enough to inquire about... never very good at keeping his damn mouth shut.ย โWhatโd he do to you?ย Your dad I mean,โ
I recreate myself; that is my only power.

henry-bowers:
โOoohhhh, goodie โฆโ Henry replied sarcastically, leaning against the asylum wall underneath the shade. Despite the corniness of it, Henry hadnโt thought about โฆ friends in so many years. The only friends he ever had was his gang โฆ and theyโre dead. All three of them. Patrick, Victor, and Belch. All of them killed by the same being that had brought him to this awful place. Henry wouldnโt consider his inmates friends, but people that are disturbed as he is if not more. An inmate that has eaten his mothers brain and has claimed it has made him smarter. What was next? He sighed heavily and looked at Tig. He seemed to be a lot different than what he was used to. Not sure to really claim to be this persons friends, heโll humor him for the sake of entertainment. โI do of what I can to make myself less bored. It beats sitting on my bed all day counting how many dimples the walls have. If you were here for as long as I fuckinโ have, you would understand.โ Henry stated, โGot in here for picking fights? Amateur.โ โTry getting locked up for the murder of your father and false accusations of the numerous murders.โ
It wasnโt the most flattering of occasions but he saw no need to be overly friendly on a regular basis, giving a shrug to the sarcasm since it was understandable.ย Already this neck of the woods was getting on his nerves but then again thatโs why he wasnโt so great at keeping friendships even if he tried to make them.ย The people in these parts often did fucked up things to people who didnโt deserve it so in the end there was no way he could get along with them.ย Doing bad things to bad people though... thatโs where he was on the line.
That was really the only line there was.
โI got downgraded for it... what I actually did I donโt think I should talk ab....โย He started but did a double-take when Henry easily opened up about it, and the subject wasnโt that pretty either.ย ย โShit... did you have a bad lawyer or something?ย How old were you?โย ย
Maybe Henry had been in here for at most a year though he wasnโt sure with him saying something along the lines of โas long as I haveโ... he seemed to be pretty well accustomed to the place but numerous wasnโt a word you threw around when it accompaniedย murder.ย ย He might be naive, trusting a new face not to lie about his crimes when he claimed it wasย โfalse accusationsโ but despite everything that had happened, he still tried to see the best in people first before assuming they were scum.
Monday Mood
henry-bowers:
โSmartass.โ Henry cocked his head a bit, his full attention on Tig. โYou remind me a lot of someone that I used to know. A certain trashmouth. Kind of nostalgic. Makes me fuckinโ sick.โ Henry snorted and spat on the ground. Though he did have a good point. Standing around watching all of the people here just planting and playing around does get boring after a while especially if its just the same routine. Perhaps a bit of change is not always so bad. Besides, most of the security guards were always watching him if he ever considered of trying to escape. As desperate as Henry was to escape, he wasnโt going to risk himself getting shot at. He had tried to find people that would come to visit to manipulate them to get him out. So far he has hardly gotten visitors. He would have to know Tig a bit to see how he is. Who knows. โHenry. Henry Bowers.โ He spoke, taking a couple of steps towards Tig. โWhat brings you to this hell hole made of cinder blocks and despair? Not too often we get visitors here. Ya here for a reason?โ
โHa... What can I say, I ainโt creative or crazy enough to entertain myself so better off to risk making accidental enemies trying to ease the boredom,โ He shrugged, hands stuffed in his pockets eyeing his new prospect up and down.
He didnโt like feeling that reliant on others but it was the same sort of concept in school before he dropped out and got himself in trouble: things sucked if you didnโt have a crew to run with since all that was left was studying and work.ย The other older teenโs behaviors seemed fairly normal in his eyes, at least for now and that was good enough to give it a try so Tig smiled in spite of himself.
โI wish I was visiting... got downgraded for picking fights... Well I didnโt really pick โem necessarily... but if youโre the first one to throw a punch, you get the blame by default.โย He laughed at his own joke, not minding if his logic would be lost on Henry since at this point he still didnโt really know anything about him besides maybe they werenโt too different.ย ย โPleasure.ย After a mutual introduction weโre officially friends, no take-backsies.โ
โAnyone else around here worth a damn besides you Henry?ย Wouldnโt figure.. they donโt look like the sharpest knives in the shed.โ
