Favourite Quotes - The Death Eaters
poems by Richard Siken (x)
Lord Voldemort: So many men, they risk so little. They spend their whole lives avoiding danger, and then they die. I'd risk everything to get what I want.
Bellatrix Lestrange: And what do you want?
Lord Voldemort: [pauses] Everything.

“Semantics. You may call me a terrorist, but I and my devotees know the truth. It’s our job to make the rest of the world aware of this truth, by any means necessary.”

What They Don’t Know || Bellatrix & Tom
bellatrixdruellalestrange:
After a split second ovary explosion and, Bella tried to compose herself enough to act normal. It was never fair the power that He had over here, it had been strong since the beginning. He had loved her once, so sweetly.
“I’m delighted to see you as always, my love,” Bellatrix responded with a shy smile, stroking her tingling hand. He always knew how to turn her insides to mush, she became putty in his well versed hands and loved it!
“Shall we go?” He asked her. “I have a gift for you my Bella, something to really sink your teeth into.”
Bella was full of glee, taking his arm, she let Him lead her away towards her warehouse.
***
Bellatrix assessed the situation. The muggle had managed to endure the boiling wax much more bravely than most. The screaming wasn’t as frantic as it usually is. What next, she mused. How should I enjoy him?
The sight was glorious. Bleeding deeply at the small of his back through the vigorous skin shedding, and making whimpering noises. His hair and body was slightly glimmering from stress sweating which, in turn, was making the waxed body ache. The muggle blubbered with each droplet of sweat. His blue eyes bloodshot, eyelids drooping lazily as he was magically prevented from passing out. Bella believed it was time to begin nail peeling.
With catlike grace she slinked towards him with her hands outstretched. With a gentle tug, she began scraping at the fat with her nails. The muggle screamed, the same noise with the frozen mouth just higher and louder. Once a small bit of skin scratched upward, she pinched it and slowly began peeling it off his tensed chest drawing out a long howl from the boy. Bella laughed darkly, and began flicking her other hand over the newly exposed flesh listening to the frequency of man’s screams. She enjoyed tearing his chest until she could see the muscles working through his final tort layer.
Looking back at her Lord, she grinned at Him. He was slung across his throne staring at her, softly smirking. Bella blushed under His gaze, she forced herself back to the task at hand. She wanted to please Him. So Bella stood in front of her victim, the muggle had already lost both feet and had his ulna pulled partially out so Bella could play puppeteer with his arms.
Oh, Bella knew how to please Her Lord. She outstretched her hands towards the heaving chest of the muggle and slowly pushed her nails into the flesh, the back of her hands touching as they were inserted into the warm mess of a chest cavity. Her Lord restricted the muggles howling to spare their ears from trauma, due to Bella’s slow intrusion. Once inside, Bella began pushing outward, taring the man’s chest open, enjoying the way muscles snapped and blood flowed. Beautiful as a waterfall, Bella thought.
Bellatrix liked to show off, to preen and perform and blush under his gaze, and Tom rewarded her with smiles and praise, dark interest focused entirely on her antics. She had always enjoyed taking her time with these things, savouring each stage of the torture, and since he had already set aside the entirety of tonight to entertaining her, well, there was no harm in letting her play. The muggle wouldn’t die any time soon -- no, his Bellatrix was far too experienced at this, and they would likely be there for another few hours yet before she tired of her games and allowed the muggle the sweet and blessed freedom of death.
There was a throne for him -- his throne, all his, placed here especially for him -- and though it was merely symbolic at this stage, Tom appreciated it all the same. Soon enough he would rule over all those beneath him, but for now this replica would do. He sat in much the same way as a king would: straight backed, regal, arms resting lightly on the arm rests, gazing down across the room with an expression blank but for the small, approving smirk that curled up one corner of his lips. A true king, with one of his most loyal and devoted followers showing off before him.
Her antics were amusing, for the most part. The muggle’s throat already sounded like it had been scraped raw from all the screaming, and the wounds littering his body balanced carefully on the line between skilfully inflicted and sheer brutality. But that was his Bella: she never had been one for subtlety, and even her work as an executioner couldn’t ingrain enough finesse in her work to give it the polished quality that some of his other loyal devotees’ torture had. There was something charming, however, about her complete lack of restraint, and Tom watched with a mixture of mild amusement and morbid fascination as she demonstrated her… unique way of administering pain and her complete willingness to get her hands dirty.
He awarded her a smile as her hands broke through the front of the muggle’s chest. His mouth was open in a silent scream -- as amusing as it would be to hear him sob and scream out his agony, both of them valued their hearing, and so silencing his cries was the best option -- and his back was arched, like he was trying to get as far away from the angel of pain and death behind him. Arching an eyebrow at her and motioning for her to continue, Tom threw a leg lazily over one of the arms of this throne, resting his chin on his hand and making himself comfortable. They would no doubt be here for a while.

you’ve got your reputation and your good intent // alice + tom
alice-not-herself:
It was a strange sort of game they played, of cat and mouse when neither were quite sure who was predator and who was prey. Polite, for of course he was; they were of similar lineage, or so she assumed, for only Borgin and Burke would employ only those of the highest breeding that would consider work as a shopkeeper in Knockturn Alley. Anything less would sully their so-called good reputation and turn up the noses of every bitch and bastard that called upon them for services of the sort that only the Purebloods could need. Alice knew the game well, knew that stiff politeness well, because despite her own lowly breeding, she was as good as one of them. Fortescue in name, Fawley in execution– at least when she was between the walls of the dank and dim little shop she knew better than she had any right or reason to.
Politeness and stiffness and formality alike were what they both used with one another as if this little room were their chessboard and both were waiting for the other to crack. She would have laughed in that dry, humourless way of hers at the very thought that Riddle knew not the woman he dealt with. Borgin kept records that would put Skeeter to shame. Alice’s history, her alliances, her social standing would all be at Tom’s perusal should the man only ask, to say nothing of her career. She was hardly the first woman to wear the ridiculous leather coat over her shoulders and would certainly not be the last, but had made waves of her own right. Alastor Moody’s partner; Kester Moody’s protegée; rumoured to have brought a smile or two to even the surly, stoic face of crotchety Barty Crouch. She was small but utterly devastating in a duel, fast as lightning and unpredictable as a tornado. Her reputation had leaked outside of the Ministry’s Level 2 many years before her path had crossed Tom’s.
They were both pretending. Alice merely wasn’t quite sure what lay behind Tom’s mask.
That he noticed whatever aggravating pull he had over her was a different matter entirely. It was easy to fall into the part of a naïve woman seeking an illicit thrill; she’d watched both of her step-sisters flick the switch on and off at will enough times to mimic it near-flawlessly. Straight to business, Riddle went, while Alice’s phone burned a hole against her side within her pocket, reminding her that she’d paused to check the state of her appearance before presenting herself to him, as if it actually mattered. Playing the role of a simpering half-fool who should have known better and didn’t was much, much different than baring her underbelly to the beast she didn’t know. That his too-pale eyes left her stomach kicking up against the cage of her ribs was a matter she refused to examine in any great depth.
He spoke to her like a child; she bit the inside of her cheek and endured it. A fool, she reminded herself; not so stupid as to lose his interest, but certainly not half as sharp as would alarm him. To tout knowledge of dark magics was acceptable, but anything beyond that was certainly not. She had no interest in giving him more ammunition than was absolutely necessary. He had proven himself time and time again the most useful a contact this side of the moral grey line– providing, of course, she met him blow for blow. “Hedgewitchery,” Alice dismissed, tone as prim as the ankles that crossed when she found her seat across from him, disinterested eyes dropping from his face to the locket he held in his hands as if it were worth half as much as he’d like her to believe. Scratched, and even he’d said as much– scratched, not etched, not engraved, not moulded into the metal that was untarnished but likely polished for her benefit alone. “A bloodline dried up because they can’t manage more than a paltry blood rune is nothing to write home about, Mr. Riddle. I’m assuming it still has bite because it feeds on those it harms, takes a bit of them back with them– what, a drop of blood? A piece of flesh, a fingernail? And what is that– it wants to be gold but it’s on a chain of something far less valuable. Plated, is it? Shame. I’ve no use for another locket that spits at wandering fingers.” Her own gentle smile didn’t waver, and her voice never shied from half-dismissive but as painfully polite as his own. “I’ll be needing a better story than that.”
The charming smile never once wavered throughout her thorough dismissal of the first item he’d set aside for her -- in fact, it widened, lips curling up in barely-concealed amusement. No, Alice Fortescue was not one to be wooed by a pretty little trinket, not when she was likely used to dealing with magic far more dangerous than this on a daily basis, not when her entire act screamed of the money she had free to lavish upon artefacts. Their meetings were a game to both of them -- each one tiptoeing carefully around, hiding their true intentions behind smiles and polite words and casual discussion, searching for that one thing that made the other tick. Alice Fortescue was good -- she never slipped up, never betrayed anything of her true thoughts or intentions besides, perhaps, the occasional lingering glance, or the few extra seconds she wasted on her appearance each time before entering the room (Borgin found that quite amusing indeed, and never failed to recount almost the exact same tale about it every single time; to which Tom smiled, laughed politely when it was expected of him, made the man feel like he was important and valued and special, special enough that Tom Riddle would continue to work here as such a stellar employee, would continue to work for him because he was so invested in this paltry little shop and its conceited managers and its stuck up, spoiled customers with their misplaced holier than thou attitudes).
But Tom was better.
Tom, who was nothing but smiles and politeness and charm; Tom who was so appealing, so open, so nice. Tom who had so many wrapped around his finger, willing to do anything for him. He didn’t have Alice under his thumb -- he doubted he ever would; she was too stubborn, too devout in her views, too devoted to good; or at least, her perception of good -- but that didn’t matter. She visited him fairly regularly, and that was all that really mattered in the long term. He’d figure her out completely soon enough, he was confident of that, and he was more than confident that Alice wouldn’t be able to figure him out in the meantime.
“No such messy enchantment, I’m afraid, although you aren’t too far off. It absorbs the energy and vitality from whomever is foolish enough to touch it -- it quite literally drains the life from your very body.” His own smile matched hers perfectly; mirror images of each other, each playing their part, buyer and seller, the roles so familiar and well-rehearsed, this comfortable back and forth almost second nature by now. “But of course; I hardly expected something so meagre to grab your attention so easily.”
He replaced the locket on the table between them with a practised care, removed the protective gloves and picked up the next item he had set aside: a small, stylised golden ring. “This next one is perfectly safe, so long as you don’t wear it.” The wry quirk of his lips assured her that he was sure that she was far from likely to ever do such a foolish thing, and it was merely a standard precaution, a disclaimer he was required to tell her just in case something did go wrong, to ensure that the shop wouldn’t be liable for any harm that might be brought about by an unfortunate accident.
“It’s imbued with some very powerful dark magic -- but harmless, unless you actually do put it on your finger. This particular curse causes the wearer to slowly rot away, and the ring cannot be removed until the wearer is dead.”
FTL: Marauder’s Map||Tom and Sirius||June 14th 2015
notanotherblack:
The code had been quick and easy. He’d been able to steal from the original map’s interface, which was more than half of the battle in any app, and he’d only needed one page. The rest was simple: an automatic language installation that would set autocorrect to an embarrassing mockery of the pretentious asshole’s original message to Sirius himself.
When the day came to test it, Sirius tried the installation on an extra phone he had around. The Marauder’s Map welcomed him, he pressed the center seal, opening a false menu where he then selected “Add Location.” There was just a second as the phone froze, and rather than the map tracing itself across the screen, a single phrase was displayed: mutationem linguae. The screen cleared, then displayed the menu once more. “Add location,” he pressed. The app closed itself, mimicking a crash.
Anyone who used it would simply assume it didn’t work: that the code was corrupt. But it worked. It just didn’t do what was expected. Quickly, Sirius flicked back to the homepage, into the settings, and then to the languages section.
Autocorrect: DUMBASS
Sirius set it back to English, deleted the newly installed language with its severely limited dictionary, then uninstalled the app while smirking. He would certainly lose a customer, but Merlin did he love his job.
Tossing the extra phone aside, Sirius turned back to the handwritten installation instructions on the parchment on the coffee table, then finished them off. He let the ink dry before folding it and shoving it in his back pocket and grabbing a jacket. The text had told him to wear a red jacket–which had set off a red flag in Sirius’ mind. Having never once been in possession of a red jacket, Sirius ignored the order and threw on his usual leather jacket on the back of which he had attached a sign saying “This jacket is red.”
It was a quick trip to the bridge, and Sirius located the Italian restaurant while perusing the street, smoking the last cigarette he had. When he found the place, he mulled around it as non-threateningly and as non-loitering as possible, waiting for his ‘mysterious employee’ to approach him. It didn’t happen until Sirius was stamping out the cigarette with his boot.
He raised his head and his brow at the man, then pulled out the instructions and the SD card that had the application on it. Before he gave it to the man, though, Sirius pulled it back. “I have questions first. And I don’t work for free,” he told the man, ignoring whatever irritation he might cause.
“First, where the hell did you get that number? Second, I’m not an errand boy. I’m an intern, but not yours.” Sirius shrugged and looked over the man’s head for a moment, following with his eyes a woman pulling her child into the restaurant.
“I don’t like rude,” he told the guy before continuing. “Hundred. ‘Less you know someone else who can reverse engineer my app.”
Of course Sirius fucking Black would have to be a smart arse about the whole situation.
Tom’s eyes narrowed as he caught sight of the blood traitor loitering outside the front of the restaurant (not wearing a fucking red jacket at all, just an ordinary leather jacket with a ridiculous sign attached to it, probably meant to be amusing; it wasn’t) and he sighed, finishing up the last little bit of his meal slowly before waving his waiter over and asking for the bill. If Black was going to take the piss, he could damn well wait until Tom was ready to come out and meet him.
He had used polyjuice potion, of course -- he wasn’t stupid enough to think that letting an Order member catch sight of his true identity was a good idea. The hairs had come from the muggle he had provided for Bellatrix a couple of weeks ago: average height and build, short brown hair, brown eyes. Completely unremarkable in every way. Of course, it was more than likely that Black simply thought of him as another customer, which would be preferable, but just on the off chance that he had any kind of suspicion of any motives other than simple greed, it just wouldn’t do for him to know that it was Tom Riddle who had possession of his app.
Finally, he stood up and made his way outside to where the blood traitor was still waiting. He had the fucking nerve to withhold the tiny bit of plastic -- presumably with the app on it -- along with the folded piece of parchment that was no doubt directions for use, or something along those lines, and Tom narrowed his eyes, arching an eyebrow and answering coldly.
“Where I got your number is none of your concern,” he said, ignoring the rest of Black’s sentence -- although he did file away the intern remark for later use. It wouldn’t be too difficult to find out who he worked for, and the more information he could get on him, the more likely he’d be to find something to use against him.
I don’t like rude. Well, neither did he, and only one of them was worth fearing -- and Tom certainly wasn’t going to pay that amount of money just for a fucking app.
“Don’t flatter yourself,” he sneered. “I’ll give you forty. Even that’s generous.”
“Apparently, dancing for him and throwing herself at him weren’t enough. Apparently, she had to nearly commit murder to arouse him enough to attack her.”

Chance Encounter || Remus & Tom
@founder-of-rome
It was an ordinary British summer day -- which is to say, it was raining. Drizzling was probably a better way to describe it, really: the sky was grey, what should have been rain hung in a fine mist in the air, and it was more like walking along the bottom of a cold lake than walking in the rain, truth be told.
But while other, less forward-thinking witches and wizards were already soaked through, Tom was perfectly warm and dry, having had the foresight to enchant his clothes with a simple water repelling charm before leaving Borgin and Burkes that evening. Other, lesser witches and wizards might have found the sight of so many others struggling against the grey, dreary weather amusing, but it just made Tom want to curl his lip in disgust. He didn’t, of course -- how you were perceived was everything, and it wouldn’t do for anyone to see his disgust and irritation -- but the sentiment was there, whether it was noticeable or not.
Tom almost stumbled back a step as another figure collided with him but caught himself just in time, counting to ten in his head before he attempted a polite smile to hide just how badly he wanted to remove the man’s insides. “My apologies, I wasn’t looking where I was going.” A lie. It was a blatant lie -- he wasn’t in the wrong, no, that was all the other man -- but it never hurt to be polite.
