He never had much of a taste for irony, but at the moment he figured it was probably somewhat fitting that on the day that he was pulled into a raid against the League of Villains that it was storming like Mother Nature was out to get them.
Can it get any worse? Rang in his head as he moved to get into position at the back of an otherwise ordinary warehouse. He had been told specifically to keep anyone from escaping out of the back fire doors and wait for the orders to reconnect with the group.
It was quiet until he heard one of the the other heroes scream his name. At first he thought he was hearing things until he heard another yell, “What the hell are you doing here, Revenant?”
He didn’t have time to think before he heard some yell his hero name again. Nor did he really consider giving pause before he bolted from his position to see what hell was going on.
While he always thought he had nerves of steel, what (or better yet who) he found definitely rattled them.
“Who are you?!”
a grin was spread across his face, masked by the cloth in front of his face. dabi could go on for day on why you shouldn’t raid the league. at least the current league. they were much stronger, so much more powerful than the old one. they knew what they were doing, and it was all thanks to him. his grin widened, his tongue running over the crystals embedded into his canines. now that was a familiar voice.
“who am i? i’m hurt dabi. you don’t even recognize me?” he paused for a minute, stomping his boot into the hero below him. “well, i guess you wouldn’t recognize me, buuut, it’s nice to meet you, dabi. or should i say, younger me.” he pressed his boot heel into the hero’s throat, feeling him struggle for air. “i almost miss the look i had back then. ah well, having longer hair is fun too.”
he began putting all his weight into his foot, ignoring the gasped pleas from the hero. “dabi, hunny, you have no idea what you’re capable of. you will soon. you’ll learn different things.” he pulled down the cloth in front of his face.
“how fun is this? i get to meet my past.” he can feel the hero struggling underneath him, desperately trying to get air. “god, you look so young.”
