Went to school today after 2 days of inclement weather, and it doesnât feel like a Friday â˘_⢠â¨đ§TT - TWICE
history mind mapđđ yeah, Iâm true biology student but Iâm filling my leave from college time with studying history!
Spanish vocabularyđ
When you write the cursive with regular print together, which do you do first? Like, do you layer the cursive on top of the regular or is it the other way around?
Is this for the titles? If so then I do the regular first and then the cursive on top of that!
22/8/16 Todayâs haul, just a few things for heading off to university!! (So sorry for not posting in ages, summer has been super packed!! Thank you to everyone who has stuck with me)
Your blog is awesome! :) It helps me so much x
Thank you so much!! I am incredibly sorry Iâve been so inactive. I hope it is still of some use just now!!
What were your results? I got a C for AH Bio :( I was predicted an A
Hey! I got As for AH biology and chemistry and higher psychology!!Iâm sorry to hear that you should definitely appeal! It could be a mistake
Did you get into vet school? Or are you appealing your results?
Hi, sorry to everyone whose sent me asks and messages I will try to get back to you all at some point, Iâve been incredibly busy the past few months!!But yes I did get into vet school!!â¨â¨â¨â¨â¨
What do you major in?
Hey! We do things differently over in Scotland. But Iâm going to university in a few months (provided I get my grades) to do veterinary medicine! What about you?âşď¸
what textbooks would you recommend?
Hey! For what subject? Although I donât think Iâm the right person to ask!! The only textbooks Iâve bought are the ones my school has specified!!
Do you have any active study tips?? Like tips for studying for exams? Thanks!
Hey! Iâm just going to list a load of things that I find work for me! Start early! Push yourself to start today instead of tomorrow. Give yourself as much time as you can to study!Motivate yourself! For me, my motivation stemmed from the fact that I have a conditional offer for my dream course of veterinary medicine. I needed to study hard in order to reach the grades I need to get in! Practice questions! Cannot stress how important these are. I have been known to focus the bulk of my revision only on practice/past paper questions. For me, I find these invaluable, especially as I am a kinaesthetic learner. Even if youâre not, they provide you with a basis for what your exam will be like. Future questions may be similar. Summarises! I find that after I have gone through several past papers, theyâre often areas which I am weak in. I like to make summaries of my notes on these areas until I feel confident with them! Rewriting notes! For me, reading notes doesnât yield much benefit. Instead I prefer to rewrite old copies of my notes into more condensed versions which are simple and easy to glance over.Flashcards! I find these great for learning terms or steps in a reaction for example. Looking over them multiple times a day helps me to remember them. Take breaks! I learn and study so much better if I take regular breaks. For me, I find that a 25min with 5min breaks works for me. In that time I do nothing related to studying and clear my head for a bit so I am ready to continue.
I hope some of this has been helpful. I wish you the best of luck in your exams!! đđ
5/6/16 Handwriting tag! Thank you so much @persephone-codes!! I tag anyone who wants to do this!
how is your writing so perfect?
Omgđ kinda rushed it slightly so it's a bit too messy for my likingđ seriously though I love your handwriting like can i have it?
how do you revise for maths?
Hey! Maths is a very problem based subject. The way I revised for it was constantly doing practice papers, past papers and text book questions. At my school we had access to past prelim papers which was great because they are much harder than the actual exam. If you can get confident with those then youâre definitely on the right track!Obviously there is some concepts and things to need to learn and remember eg formulae or specific values and I found flashcards or sticky notes really helpful with this. I would place them around my house in places I would constantly see them. For example on the outside of the shower door so I could read them while I showered!!

Some of me class haven't started studying and the test starts on Wednesday. Any advice?? đ
Okay, so youâve got 4 days. I donât know if youâre in school at this point or not? What I would do:Focus. For me, the fast approaching test would motivate me to get down to grips with the work, but this may not be the case for you. If so, I would recommend looking at masterposts on motivation (I think @areistotle has one).
Manage your time. Obviously if youâre on study leave or something then you have full days to work with, if not thatâs still fine. Select the most important parts of the course and focus most on them. Do practice questions and past papers - these are invaluable! If you can do them until theyâre so easy and boring then youâre doing great! If you find you have time, make summaries of your notes/textbook/class presentations. Condense everything into a few sheets so it doesnât take long to look at and review. This really doesnât have to be the prettiest piece of revision ever, just choose a method which works for you.
Take breaks. Honesty I know I struggle to stop as I keep pressing myself to continue if I have only a short time until an upcoming test. But seriously, regular short breaks can help. Find a period that works for you, eg half an hour with five minute breaks. Donât think about your studying during the break. Do some burst exercise or read a page of a book or even do some juggling (this really helps you to focus on something else for a short period).
Donât panic. While a little stress helps to motivate me, too much overwhelms me and I cant work so well. This test is not the be all and end all of everything. Maybe you can resist it if you need to or maybe it wonât even matter at all what your grade is. Thereâs always other tests you can improve on.
Be positive. If you go into the test feeling like you can ace it, then you actually feel more positive and for me I feel like I can attack the questions much better.
I wish you the best of luckđ I hope I have been of some help (apologies if it doesnât quite flow I wrote this really late at night).
Hi, I want to study psychology in university and I would like to know which subjects did you take in school??
Hey! Thatâs ace! Well Iâve applied for veterinary medicine so my subjects will be different to yours probably! But Iâve done SQA qualifications, and I took AH chemistry and biology, higher psychology and then an add on GSCE astronomy this year!
