After time stood still for 2 years during COVID, 2023 feels like a big year with many milestones unlocked on a personal and professional front 😊
Jan/ Feb - passed the 3 month mark at work and started getting more comfortable in my role. Was also busy with all the wedding prep on weekends! I remember designing the invites on Canva, getting them printed at Bukit Timah, and buying all the table decorations on taobao hehe
Mar - got hitched to my best friend, and the day was perfect 🥰🥰 I had so much fun!! it was also nice receiving the well wishes from everyone, it reminded me just how lucky i am to have so many people who love me and care for me.
Jun - took my longest break after 6 years of working, and travelled the furthest I have been since exchange - Turkey!! The weather there was great, the scenaries were beautifullll, and the hot air balloon ride was definitely a core memory of my lifetime. I can't wait to go on another trip like that again 😢 oh yes and I took my first ever biz class flight, all thanks to Kenneth 😄
Sep - Dad's cancer relapsed 1 year after his surgery. Before his treatment cycle started, i requested for a family day trip to JB to celebrate my 30th birthday, because this is the best overseas trip we can manage for now. Hopefully when dad recovers, we can go for a proper one in China or Taiwan 🙂 he is done with 4 weeks of radiation therapy already, just 1.5 more weeks to go for the cycle to end!! As always, Dad's a trooper and a fighter. Despite all his anxiety and pessimism, I still admire him for his self-discipline and resilience 💪 honestly it's not easy to visit the hospital every day for 33 days, so I hope this will be the last we hear of his cancer
Nov - hit my 1 year work anniversary and also got promoted!! I honestly wasn't working towards it actively as a goal in the near term, so getting a promotion was really a confidence booster. At least I can now assure myself that I know what I'm doing, and that I have what it takes so i should just stop my self-doubt.
Fast forward to Dec, we're now getting our rented place ready for move in!! Super excited to start a new phase of life in Jan next year, living like a married couple with Kenneth 👰 i cant wait to see how this would unfold - may 2024 be an even better year ahead filled with good health, great opportunities and lots of laughter, love & happiness!!
