The Brick Connection House, Vadodara. The house revolves around the concept of connections along with central courtyard and the interaction of various volumes and floors with each. The exterior is a simple geometry comprising of a bold brick mass with exposed concrete overhangs and large openings. To break this organization, an interesting circular silhouette is introduced in the façade. The house is vastu compliant and a vast compliant house is in simpler terms a climate responsive residence. The house is conceptualized to be minimal, giving more importance to the spaces than individual elements. Three materials – brick, concrete and wood sum up the material palette. Project Name: The Stripe House Design Brief: Designed for a retired couple, 'Stripe House' is a single-story house with a build of 1500 sq. ft. The brief for the project was to design a contemporary house with a touch of Indian elements. The concept follows an open plan space with white walls to give a spacious appearance to the house. The partition between living and dining space is designed in such a way that it gives a sense of privacy even though the planning is open. The Tv unit is a customized four-legged teak wood piece making it the center of the space accompanied by a wall clock. The ceiling of the stone-topped dining has a combination of fabric and wood to give a luxurious touch. The kitchen is a seamless design with a breakfast table supported by a single teak wood leg. The bedroom with wooden flooring and dark furniture, balanced with white walls and vibrant art gives a cozy and calming feel. Project Name: Nehaben's Daughters' Room Interior Project Description: A kid's den is what we would love to call this project. The client Mrs. Nehaben Chhawchharia has 2 very young and charismatic daughters who were very sincerely excited to get their room renovated and experience the journey of design to execution of the elements they dreamt of. They had a love for colors and were so enthusiastically sure of incorporating all the colors they loved. Hence the interiors we designed had a full play of colors but used them bright and crisp, to hold on to the spatial quality and grandness of the room space. We designed a dedicated study corner with a library for both young girls and a connected double bed that faced a long line of wardrobes that showcased a vibrant play of triangular forms and colors. The low corner sitting area was the main interactive element for the friends of the 2 girls, so basically we tried to bring out the liveliness in each element just like the nature of children. Not only the kids but even the parents and elders ended up loving the overall feel and vibe of the room. The client is fond of wood and natural Burma polish so they have maintained the whole furniture polish in the same. Huge opening and open planning provide an excellent amount of light in every corner of the house. This condition of the site clearly appealed to a minimal design. The design was achieved by using pure and simple color pallets. A bright and welcoming foyer enters directly into the formal drawing-room. The rooms are designed comfortably to suit the occupants. The brief, interestingly, called for a place that would provide stress-free living of a hotel — as the client travelled extensively and was used to staying in hotels. Thus, the home would have to put convenience, security, luxury and comfort as primary require- ments above all else. The site, a 5,000 sq-ft penthouse still under construction when the design team came into the pic- ture, afforded great views of the Holkar Cricket Stadium. The structural framework of the 11 and 12th floor duplex was ready, but the walls weren’t up.
