âMy mistake.â
He has always been predictable, and what secrets he can keep become easily apparent when she prods at him.Â
âYou know, itâs tasteless when you refer to him as such. âYour General.ââ It would be dishonest ( and, thus, not entirely out of character of her ) to say that some small part of her didnât like hearing it, but Vox speaks too openly for Arrisâ tastes. And, though there must surely be those who realize what goes on, none would dare speak of it out of fear of reprimand. Vox has no such fear. The fear of her, and what sheâs capable of. Any other and she would be quick to change their mind and yet, for now, Arris finds it an endearing quality on him. Still, the intricacies of her business with Hux are beyond what she expects her brother to understand, and it would be appreciated if he could learn to just-âŠshut up.
                     For Arrisâ sake.
âBut what a dangerous assumption to make â I donât believe I ever mentioned that we were intimate, and I should hope you arenât spreading any undue rumors around. I know youâre rather fond of talking, sweet brother.â
âOf course, if I had to make idle gossip, I would say that our fearless leader still feels humiliated by a defeat already taken too personally. Iâve told him as much, but ALAS â â It is stated with such drama, as arms are thrown across her face to shield her eyes. A laugh, disingenuous. The show is entirely for Voxâs benefit, even when it doesnât truly benefit him. â â he does not want to hear sense from one so far below his station.â
He grins at her, shaking his head. âLowering yourself into baseless gossip with the rest of us? Your General will be so ashamed.â Because he was pretty sure while she denied it he knew that she was just playing innocent about the whole thing. Cause well - the whole ship kinda knew.Â
Not that he was going to tell her that, he wasnât no snitch.Â
âYou know guys - they just want to feel powerful. All you gotta do is -â He stops himself and looks down, scratching the back of his head sheepishly. âYeah - on second thought. Totally not going there.â not with his âlittleâ sister - that was just way too weird.Â
âSo - you uh - want to go down and grab some caf or something? I mean - if you want to.â Anything to try and derail her from conversations about her and the General that he really didnât want to hear about. Because if that started coming up she was just gonna start ragging on him again about who he may or may not be seeing in his off hours.Â
It was precarious enough as it is, thank you very much.
âI myself could do with the walk on down there. Been stuck here all day - need to stretch my legs.â He adjusted himself in the chair and made a couple slightly exaggerated stretching motions with his legs and arms.Â
