Going to pin this post for those that find me through tumblr and haven't through AO3 yet. This blog is to update fans and readers of my original story, "Daddy Remembers," and other stories of mine. DR 12: Part 2 Update
For those of you in the Sates - Happy Memorial Day weekend! I hope you have a great relaxing extended weekend.
This weekend, please try to remember that we celebrate Memorial Day as the closing of World War II. Victory Day elsewhere, celebrating the same, was earlier this month. These holidays are important to remember - especially now more than ever. WWII was a HUGE fight against fascism, tyranny, and genocide - much of what many of us around the world still face today. Remember those brave men and women who rose up and fought such evils to give us all a better life. May we never have to come to such extreme measures ever again.
Now, on to the update! 😀
I am slowly plugging away at the next chapter. I am finding I am having less and less private time to sit and write. Not only is work becoming a bear, but this new living arrangement I am in makes it difficult to find any quality alone time for just thinking, let alone writing, on such matters.
I do get ideas in my head at various time, and I can occasionally jot them down - generally, as I lay in bed at night trying to sleep. I keep my laptop in my bedroom for such instances. I do sometimes find an hour or two free where I can get a couple paragraphs written or if I'm lucky, and entire page! But it's not enough. Sorry.
Good news and bad news...
Context: My roommates, who are dear friends, and I came together to consolidate bills and save money in this horrible economy. Was going well and being social with them was good for my introverted loner self.
The Bad News: My roommates can't keep from fighting which affects all of us. 😭 So, we're all going our separate ways at the end of our lease towards the end of the year. 😢 That will mean more stress and more money out of my pocket for moving and I'll be living on my own once more and not saving as much money as I want or need. 😢😢
The Good News: Same thing, really - I'll be on my own once again and will have more alone time to sit, think, plan, and write. So, I should be able to get back to the normal schedule of getting these chapters out in 6 weeks (give or take).
So, in the meantime (pretty much for the rest of this year)... thanks for your patience and understanding as I work through this. Please know I am always wanting to get more written and out to you all. I have NO plans on stopping or leaving this story unfinished.

Chapter 5 - A Frustrating & Fun February
John gets a few unexpected visits from someone very frustrated which only increases his own frustrations, but in a different way. More frustrations surround Zoey’s birthday. John and Alexia find some alone time. And Valentine’s Day has new loving connections that is a fun time for the group.

DR 12: Part 2 Update
Hi all. Thanks for patiently waiting for Chapter 5. I just finished the draft, but there is a section I may want to change. I need to read it again with fresh eyes to see if this is how I want the character to be portrayed in this part. So... just a little while longer before release. 😊
Chapter 6 will not be as long as this one - more along the lines of Chapter 4's length. So hopefully, it won't take too long to crank out. *knock on wood* ...and hopefully, life and adulting will stop interfering! 😆
DR 12: Part 2 Update
I just realized it's been a while since I've posted anything or given an update. Sorry about that. This month has been crazy busy. It's an insane time of year for work.
I had hoped to get Chapter 5 out by the end of the month, but that's not happening, obviously. I have been slowly plugging away at it - a few paragraphs here and there when I get the time and brain power to devote to it. I am about 3/4 the way through - currently at 16k words. So, another 4k-5k to go.
And from what I understand, most writers do about 4k-5k per chapter. I am usually 20k-30k per chapter. (What's wrong with me?!) 🤣 So, while my chapters take longer to get out, you're getting 5-6x the content. I hope that makes you all feel better about any delays - it does for me. A little. Okay, a tiny bit. I still want this story out of my brain and written right NOW!! 🤣🤣🤣

Chapter 4 - Kelly's Reward
For getting John a discount on the hotel rooms and letting him use her boyfriend Wally for his scheme – Kelly insisted on some alone time with Daddy and Alexia. However, John brings two friends to play as well.
This is just a bonus scene of fun action occurring after the events. It's short at only roughly 5k words.

Chapter 3 - Hunting the Pride
With John still feeling the heartache over Donna and now Jessica too, he gets familiar advice that springs him into action. Despite his plan for a little fun and revenge, one of the lionesses surprises him giving him an unforeseen opportunity. Alexia’s homework brings unexpected fun.

DR Update
Now, I have the f'ing flu. 2025 just will not stop hammering me. Ugh.
Needless to say, I don't know when I'll get CH 3 out. 😭 ☹️
However, I was stuck on the ending - I wasn't liking it. I know what want it to be, but was having a hard time getting there. But I was able to resolve that and get it outlined. Woo hoo! I just need some non-fevered, non-achy alone time to focus get it done. Additionally, I came up with a bonus scene, but instead of tacking it on at the end, as it really doesn't fit the theme of the chapter despite being related, I'm going to make it Ch 4. It will be short and simple. So, I may just release CHs 3 & 4 together after the New Year.

Although, it's not a very "merry" or "happy" anything here with me this year. Unfortunately, my dog passed away and it's hit me hard. She's been my heart and soul for nearly 12 twelve years. So, I've been a vegetative mess these past few days.
I made good progress on Chapter 3, but that's come to a grinding halt, unfortunately. My push to get something to you all by Christmas isn't going to happen. Sorry. But I am close and I *hope* to get something out next weekend or by New Year's. No promises. But that is now the current plan.
2025 has been shitty. I can only hope 2026 will be better.

Chapter 2: "More Old Friends"
John catches up with more old friends who want to relive past experiences. He also has to watch Donna with her boyfriend during a work trip, but one of his old friends makes it palatable. And then life returns to “normal” as he spends the evening with his daughter and her two friends.
While there are some sexy scenes in this chapter that I think are HOT, this chapter is more story / character driven. This chapter sets some things up for chapters soon to follow. Even if you're not a fan of the sexy scenes early on and throughout the chapter, you will probably like the end scenes. 😆

Chapter 1: "Old Friends, New Year"
Alexia fights a boy. Daddy gets a reminder to keep taking his “medicine.” Both John and Alexia meet up with old friends for new experiences, and they give pause to their emotions.
As a reminder to where we are in the series:
DR 7-9 = Alexia-focused while John devolves
DR 10 = Alexia-focused as we witness Father and daughter blissfully explore the taboo (some friends begin to get involved too)
DR 11 = Both Father and daughter try to get accustomed to their new lifestyle as the their respective worlds expand. (Focus on both.)
DR 12: Part 1 = John-focused (with a bit of drama), and we see him overcome with romantic woes and the ramifications from the lifestyle he is leading, but he shields Alexia from it to let her happily grow.
DR 12: Part 2 is obviously a continuation of Part 1. It will still be John-focused, but we will also see Alexia's world continue to grow and impact him. John will continue to have drama, he will deal with the lionesses - try to survive them and the cheerleaders; deal with work issues, and attempt to retain his sanity as he strives to get resolution to things in this large world he has fallen into (or created?).
DR 13 will be more Alexia-focused and more resolutions are to be had. Lots of blissful happiness, sunshine, and rainbows and some loose ends are tied up. 😊
DR 14 - Strap in, it's gonna get rough! 😆
