I feel guilty but I’m glad Carlos didn’t make it out, cos I really couldn’t take another Luke character wandering the world without his friends and with an overwhelming sense of loss that he can’t alter in any way.

But I genuinely adore Sam saying in the laying low live that they found an island with the bitter sweethearts cos imo that means that all of them, including Lucas, are together again. And I’m taking that as canon.

I’m also glad Luke had those incredible moments both with ‘betray’ and the ‘spare the dying’. It was his words and actions that first accidentally reset the sweethearts and destroyed his relationship with Sam’s character, but here it was his words and actions that saved Sam’s character and then extended his life until they both realised it would never be enough. And I love that parallel and I guess almost redemption.

Something about Pete helping Carlos to trust and Lucas helping Ashen to trust as well.

More Lock Stock character thoughts because I'm still thinking about that ending and just - I think Carlos and Maureen are the only ones who had someone left behind who would mourn them

Pete certainly didn't. He was a Thing to the Krag Twins, to be used and played with and kept for their entertainment. The Porcelain Police would have broken him down for parts, they're unsentimental.

Cheeky very likely didn't, at least not anyone close. All the people he cared about are dead and he was clinging on to the only place he knows. There might be some people in the East End who remember him, but it's not with any kind of real connection.

But Carlos clearly had a relationship with the ratfolk in the Mudlarks. They saw him as one of their own, they blessed him, they were very likely ready to defend him in the tunnels and were the ones helping in the lead up to the final showdown.

And then Ale.

Ale, who gave Maureen the list that Carlos wrote.

Ale, who grew up with Carlos.

Ale, who would have performed in the same venues as Maureen.

Ale, who would have seen Maureen walk into the Queenly Court and request aid. Who knows that Carlos is an informant for the Mudlarks. Who would see the news, and even if they never announce the names, she knows

Imagine knowing your childhood friend and a fellow performer you were friends with died, but because they were seen as enemies to the people you work for, you can't mourn them outwardly.

Neither of them were really close to her by the time the adventure starts, but there's still a relationship there
