Rules:

-I really don’t have much rules I care for, just basic Tumblr RP etiquette, respect for what I’d like to do with my own character and no god modding. Other than that, will get along great!

-This is a 18+ Blog, Minors don’t interact. Mun is 27+ Years of Age. This blog will have explicit materials and dark themes like- Fowl/NSFW language, exploring themes of mental health, character deaths, graphic character harm among other topics. All will be tagged appropriately.

-Another thing! I am really, really bad with first time meeting threads so I prefer to just have our muses have the very basic knowledge of each other that a first meeting thread gets you. (Things like, name, job, ambition, such like that.) I won’t ever allow Adam to know your muses deep dark secrets right off the bat cause… That’s dumb.

-If I don’t get to a reply after two days of waiting, you have all rights to remind me.

Bio:

Belial was Captain of the Guards tasked with protecting the inner sanctum and court of Heaven and its Council that resides within it. Having taken to Lucifer’s side, Belial breaks his Oath and revolts with the other Sin’s however, he had done so while inside the Court of the Council where he was close to opening its doors to the revolution outside when he was cast down to Hell with the others.

After this act for the Revolution and his skills with leadership, Belial was chosen to be the next king in charge if something had happened to both Lilith and Lucifer.

After Charlie was born, the title of “Crowned” went to her as she’s the next blood relative in line for the throne. Belial graciously stepped down but remains a back up in case a catastrophe were to happen with the Morningstar family.

The roaring crowd of guests stood at a good distance between one another as they piled in the palace from its magnificent doors. A grand hall where staff of the Sin’s worked with a flurry of platters containing anything you could want. Fine cheeses, large portions of meat, mugs of mead or even the finest of champagnes.

From where The Liar stands, about halfway up a fine staircase leading to a upper floor, he could see the crowd from one end of the banquet hall to the next. Sporting a black suit and red satin tie, he leans on the arm rail of the fine staircase, his drink of choice of course being something without alcohol. Call it a superstition but every time he drink, something happens that needs his attention so his chosen path of sobriety is one made from security.

Nestled neatly at the back of the hall, just under a fine chandelier, rested a large stage with a rather energetic band that played an electrifying orchestral set filled with trumpets, trombones, a cello and drums among other instruments. Hopefully, wherever their Lord may be, they are able to see what happens next as the lights dim a hint, the band begins their next song with a roaring of trumpets that’s enough to make a particular angel in Heaven feel a twitch of envy.

All eyes turn to the stage, again the trumpets play, the drums sound and a rather large rose materializes in the center of the stage.

“An angels smile! Is what you sell!”

That rose begins to bloom and a woman with striking red hair and a voice made to make men blush and women envious begins to stand in a fine rosy red dress that sparkles in the dim light. The band stops playing with each line of lyrics as the opening song begins.

“You promised me Heaven! Then put me through Hell!”

Her lips are something of perfection, captivating on all counts and as she stands fully, that flower dematerializes to slowly form into the microphone she now holds in her hand.

“Chains of love got a hold on me!”

The way her delicate hands hold the microphone is something a lonely man would wish upon himself. The crowd cheers, some in the crowd whistle encouragingly, enthusiastic patrons already begin to shake their hips and pull their partners into a jive.

“When passions a prison you can’t break free!”

When the band begins playing, it’s a beautiful synchronization of instrument and vocals that brings the lights back on and the crowd of party goers into the right mood as the woman on stage lives for just these moments.

For Lial however, his foot merely bounces to the beat, eyes scanning the crowd for any evidence of their Lord till a figure joins his side. A look to the left and standing there is of course their host of the night. He greets Beelzebub with the normal grin his always given them coupled with a bow of respect. “Lord Beelzebub. I hope you had a chance to watch the opening song.” His back straightens and he looks back out to the crowd. “I’d say this is one of your best planned events yet. Not a worry in sight. Make sure to save a glass of champagne for me to toast to you later.”

“Well I suppose I can come up with some excuse, but I’m really just here to say hi. But if she isn’t available then I’ll come back when she’s in a more sociable mood.”

“What? No goats blood? Crucifix? Black candles? Not even a tarot card? Entities have gotten really lazy these days.”

Should I bring Belial back? Maybe. We’ll see. He’s like… permanently in his vacation verse.

“Oh wow. I. Am. Wounded. By. This. Very. Complex. Display. Of. Wit. Surely I can never recover.”

“Sorry, I reel it in next time. Just. For. You.”

Just as he expected, she had no clue what he was thinking, but really could he blame her? They were still enemies regardless of their little ‘cease fire’ arrangement. However Lial knew that these Exorcits were deprived of the exact same thing he was when originally stationed as the lead captain of Heavens court guards.

It was freedom.

Certainly it was hard to explain as yes, in a way, the Exorcists were free to do as they pleased but the expectations to do what she said, being trained to deal with anything, inhibited them from so much. Because it was all for battle, wasn’t it?

“No. You won’t.” He said matter of factly. “Your grips too tight, you’re far too stiff and you lack any experience in this.” Thats when he started moving. Little steps, a nice gap between them and slow, easy movements that was a snails pace compared to a real waltz.

One, two, three. One, two, three.

“Having trouble keeping up?”

Lial would be right, freedom was not even a concept for Trisha as she was one of those Exorcists so stripped of free thought she appeared of no emotion. However, when she looked down at his hand she held tight, there may be the slightest glimmer of… curiosity at least. It was a start and at least she was not already stabbing her dagger into him straight away.

“I… won’t?” She repeats back to him, not used to the notion of being told she was doing something wrong, not since the last time she was trained. That was so long ago now, having taken to solo training most of her time to hone her skills.

Surprisingly, as he mentions her grip, it actually loosens and her body starts to soften like she was doing exactly as he said. Though they were enemies, this challenge was one of that she saw him having the lead and since she knew not what it entailed, she followed.

As he took a step, the tension came back as if anticipating it to be a move of attack, but she saw no aggression. Only… motion; motion she had seen from afar before, yet never participated. Not one to fall behind, she began to step with him. It was still stiffer than it should be, but she began to follow. Only issue was that each step, she was getting too close like she was lunging for an attack, but stopping short. She knew not how to relax.

“I do not struggle to keep up. I only win,” she goes over, but there’s the slightest furrow of her brows as she had no idea what she was doing. That was… a strange feeling. “Is this… a dance battle? Are we not in a ceasefire?” As she spoke, she was looking down at his feet as if trying to anticipate the next step the whole time.

Good, she was slowly starting to get it, just a little. The hand on his loosened which was a good start but she was still having some major issues but she hasn’t stabbed him yet, as she was also identifying herself right about now.

With each step, her tension would raise, like she was anticipating harm, to protect herself or to attack before she is. The thought process was purely akin to a wild animal and really, that hurt him. To think an Angel would become like this, one that was supposed to reside in Heaven. Poor girl.

“There’s no winning here.” He reveals, their movements still slow and he looks down at her while she stared at his feet to learn. “This isn’t a battle, it’s just a dance.” That’s it. Nothing more than that at all. He wondered if she could even understand that.

“You’re still very stiff. I get it, we’re enemies and all that, but for a minute, I want you to try and let go of all that. I’m not here to hurt you, I already told you I wouldn’t. That’s still a promise I won’t break.” He stops his movements to give her a moment to decide as he talked. “I want to show you what you’re missing out on. So, if you can give me even the smallest amount of trust, all you need to do is close your eyes, breathe, and let me guide you.”

Was it a nap? Or a full on sleep? Who could tell when that’s a practically all you ever do. In either case he was dreaming of sitting back in his desk chair, eyes closed, feet up on the desk, not altogether uncomfortable until he felt a very strong presence staring at him. He opened an eye and almost fell out of said chair when he recognized the face of the person…. Or angel… sitting on his side of the desk staring at him disdainfully.

Perhaps this had been on his mind lately, after Adam had fallen and told him that those he had been tasked to protect in Heaven had all been killed, Lute herself right before the first man descended. So there she sat, the Eldest, staring blankly at him with as neutral of an expression possible toward someone you hate.

After the initial shock of seeing here there, Lial sat up straight, his hands in his lap. Of all the Angels to come see him, the Eldest of the singers wasn’t one, especially since he was told of her passing.

When the First Man fell to Hell, one of the first to greet him there was Lial. After all the Sovereign Prince of Hell needed to ensure the population of Sinners wasn’t in danger, Lord knows the sort of hatred that spawns from being cast out, Lial also knows it all too well.

“I guess Angels can be reapers.” He said quietly to himself, leaning forward on his arms. The man had changed so much since they had last seen one another. The certain fire in his eyes that was once there long ago for duty and diligence was long since snuffed out.

“I know that look anywhere. You’re not the first one to do so.” Whether this was a dream or not didn’t matter anymore, she was there, she was angry and he was… Tired.

He leans over and slowly pours a drink, possibly his last, and slides it over to the ‘lesser’. It’s polite to serve the guest first. “Sorry… about you and your sisters. Adam told me what happened. Gotta say, that wasn’t in the playbook when I was around. ‘Was one of the reasons why I joined Lucifer. Things weren’t right. But I don’t expect you to believe me.”

Lial didn’t need to be told that the words the High Seraphim spoke to him carried major consequences behind them. He understood far better than most that the more responsibilities you have, the higher the punishment if you mess it up and when the speaker of God himself tasks you with something declared to be secret? Well… he could only imagine what punishment may come if Lial had fumbled the bag.

When they entered the large building, it’s immediate that the music hits you. One would expect the separate playing of music from multiple creatures not standing next to one another would create a sound horrible to the ears but these girls…. They played in tandem with one another. Perfectly in sync like they had practiced for centuries.

But then the music stops suddenly when the two enter the building. Complete silence so suddenly was jarring and sort of hurt the man’s ears.

When the Eldest of the group came forward, he could see the defensive fire in her eyes. Lial stood and readied himself to be introduced. However, his eyes looked through the crowd… they were to be tools? They were just…. Girls. This would be a rather harsh adjustment.

The Sentry was silent as he took his new orders in. The High Seraphim demanded it to be so and explained it perfectly without pause or hesitation. Belial nodded once the orders were all said and the dismissive wave of the man’s hand caused Lial to stand to his feet “yes, sir.” A respectful bow was the last thing he would give to the Seraph before taking his leave.

Of course, in the present, Lial had thought about this order over and over, the many red flags within it, how he should have spoken up but unfortunately, bound by an oath and duty to his kingdom, the man could only follow blindly.

The next day Lial would arrive once again to be escorted. A few papers in hand that had names of a few other guards he trusted to take the orders as seriously as himself. When standing before the High Seraph again, Lial gave the papers over.

“Five guards, all prepared and told to keep this information strictly a secret.” But a question itches at the side of his mind, he has no choice but to speak as it forces its way out of his mouth.

“But sir, if I may… Why must this be a secret? Are they… in danger?”

You look tired, Lial… has Hell not been kind to someone who abandoned the innocent? Perhaps you joined Samuel’s fight against Phim’s corruption but that doesn’t take away from your cowardice in leaving two thousand of my sisters defenseless.

Her stare was unbearable and her voice haunting. She spoke with a commanding tone that would have surprised anyone else from Heaven who had ever known her or of her. But she wasn’t here to cater to her previous innocence as she would for Adam or her sisters, even Raphael would get the version of her that he knew best. But not those who had failed Father’s tests. No. She would have her divine retribution, falling wasn’t the only reprimand he deserved.

She switched her crossed legs, palms on each side of her hugging the edge of his desk and fingers tightening to show her wrath even as her face remained almost flat.

A chill runs down the once Angels spine, such an authority to creation itself would make anyone quake and for Lial it’s his hands that shake lightly and tense against the desk. It’s been awhile since he’s felt something like that. If he were honest, it was a thrill. Something that reminded him of home a long, long time ago.

But this wasn’t the time to think about that, his red eyes stare into her golden ones, much like they have before except things were much different. This wasn’t the singer he once knew, she wasn’t that naive protective Eldest he had come to know. No, she grew into what she is and that… that’s a piece of the puzzle that had always been missing.

He takes the accusation on the chin, as he always has. The Great Liar, Oath Breaker… Titles meant next to nothing to him and that goes double for those who accused him of cowardice.

But the question…. Who she truly is? Now that he wanted to know… needed to know.

“Phim was an insane man who let power go to his head… I’ve always wondered why he kept you and the others like prisoners in a cell… Enlighten me, I want to know the truth and how detrimental my mistake really was.”
