During my trip to Wellington I was exclusively using manual focus for the first time, and it took me quite a while to get used to it. While I loved the control and versatility it gave me, it's gonna take me quite a bit of practice before I get any good. End result was quite a few shockers, and I was pretty disappointed with a lot of the photos from early in the weekend, but I think I did get a lot better over the course of the trip. I had also hoped to get a chance to improve my portraiture, but my subjects didn't give me a lot of chances as our weekend was way too fast-paced for me to practice properly, so that remains firmly on my to-do list. But hey, our selfies were pretty comical. Any tips from you guys would be much appreciated!

On my trip to Wellington, we did a long walk through the Wellington Botanic Gardens, following the path down to town so we could head up to the grounds of Parliament- a route which led us through this graveyard. I don't know what it was exactly that struck me about this place, but it really got to me. It's probably a bit sacrilegious to take pictures of gravesites, but I just felt this urge to take as many pictures as I could. The moment I took the middle picture is one of the moments that really stands out to me from the whole trip, something about seeing the names of children so young listed on a headstone makes you really realise just how lucky we are to be alive. Rest in peace.
