Awe and its role in our well being: I caught part of a radio interview about the science of awe earlier this week. From the immediate calming effect we feel to the physiological effect of lowering inflammation in our bodies, we humans are wired to benefit from awe. So, for anyone needing a reason to 'stop and smell the roses', here it is. When awe presents itself to you, be reminded to take a moment to enjoy for wellness sake.

I had something of an epiphany the other day: I go for annual checkups for overall physical wellness (fortunate, I know), but I have never gone for a mental checkup. And that's actually kinda scary considering how fucked up I am.

I think 2020 voters in U.S. should be required to display who they supported for president. I'm just curious who can support Trump at this point? What does that even look like?

Reeling. My mind is absolutely reeling to learn from a Trump supporter that they forgot about his bragging of grabbing pussy. How? How The Fuck does someone forget that?!? What the ever-living fuck is wrong with these people? I'm dying here. My soul feels crushed.

I agonize whether to ask: how are you?

What if you're having a brief and welcomed moment of wellness, and my question reminds you of that which you are trying to escape?

I regret that I took for granted the ability to trust another.

It's easier to see things in the light from the dark than it is in the dark from the light.

It is not that I necessarily want to die, but neither do I want to live. I hesitate to speak it knowing the alarm it would generate around me. And that internalizing makes the burden even more heavy. I just feel so fucking exhausted. And no: I am not suicidal. I just need to express myself.
