About Kyoto Animation
I’m fully aware that I hadn’t been active in a while, but I just feel the need to speak on this matter.
I woke up today to the news of the unspeakable tragedy Kyoto animation, the anime studio which has produced one of my absolute favourite titles, has suffered. I’ve been speechless ever since.
Kyoto animation production has always been like the warmest hug in time of need, when you have no one else to turn to. All of their titles I’ve had the pleasure to watch have impacted my life greatly. I can honestly say that their work has helped me and developed me into the person I’m today.
It might sound like an exaggeration but I clearly recall this sort of out of this world aura of the purest kindness and gentleness surronding every single person when they are watching the Clannad series. At least every single person I know who has watched the series. I’ve never been one to believe in miracles and magic but I do believe, based on what I’ve seen, that this absolute piece of art, that Clannad (and Clannad AS) is, has the ability to awake this childlike, most genuine type of kindness many have already abandoned and forgotten.
It’s event like this that remind us how fragile and volatile everything around us really is.
Don’t take things for granted. Never. Express your love and appreciation for what you love and appreaciate. Because it might not be here the day after.
I’m heartbroken. My thoughts are with everyone affected by this horrible, horrible incident. Condolences to the wonderful animators and employees at Kyoto Animation who passed away, condolences to their loved ones. It takes beautiful people to create beautiful stories.
Please, make sure to help the studio if you’re at least remotely able to do so here.
