Shattered duckling and dream duckling get the exact same treatment from goosemare ( broody in denial affection) but shattered is more pushy and aggressive ( sneaky boy wont be denied bro cuddles) when trying to get goosemares affection so he ends up with more cuddles from his bro then dream ducky And he 100% has picked up a knife and chased cross with it in his mouth and stabbed some of the boys ( but not his bro or horror because horror feeds him lol)

Baby dream now knows and in my personal headcanon is now slightly more protective as he knows nightmare was hurt and has taken this fact as a presonal attack. He wont be as openly aggressive as shattered but I like to think hes more observant and sensitive to nightmares well fair, emotional mental and physical. Also love the idea of him being passive aggressive to anyone mean to nightmare

That is an excellent headcanon my anon friend, and it is in fact very much canon!

While Nightmare was typically the mature one when they were kids and phsycially protected and took care of him, Dream did his best to look after his brother’s mental and emotional well being in return. Just because his brother is bigger and older than him now won’t change that.
