Is it possible for a soap opera to gaslight you? Asking for the entire fandom.
i cannot get over this gif đ
look at carla's little face. the entire scene she cannot contain her smiles, her excitement, her giddiness and happiness oh baby đ„ș
and lisa's little face is like 'umm hmm we're taking things slow' *small nods* 'but i'm so happy and hopeful everything's gonna be okay again' đ„șđ„ș

The eye contact between Lisa and Betsy! âThatâs right darling, I fixed it, I got your other Mum back.â Iâm SOBBING!!!! đ
CORONATION STREET | January 22, 2026
Iâm getting second hand beer fear through these gifs! đ đ€ą
I know we were all distracted but Lisa mentioned her Mum today. đ đ đ
WE ARE SO BACK!!!!
đš Spoiler Vid đš
So itâs not a little note or an invite card. Itâs a great big A4 sized letter. At least now fanfic writers (the MVPs of fandom) can have Lisa explain everything in the letter that we inevitably wonât see on screen. Itâll have to do (I guess).
The nation rejoiced
Haha! Why is this the first time Iâm seeing someone say âBecky with the bad hairâ. I must have been deep in the black cloud of doom!
Stop this now Corrie! Can we just have some peace at number 6 for five minutes?
I canât wait to see this , Carlaâs face in the last two photos kill me đđ
The hands on the hips. The âwhere are you getting your audacityâ face. Lisa Swain, buckle up because Carla is clearly having no more of your shit!
Lisa in that preview clip - "She'll say I knew we couldn't afford the kind of holidays that we had, or even the mortgage"
Lisa when the whole corruption story was first brought up - "We weren't driving around in a Ferrari or nipping off to Marbs, quite the opposite"
I guess the writers changed their minds then? Interesting?
Is it *actually* inconsistent writing, or had they not yet decided at that point to bring Falconer back?
'Cos surely they would have fleshed out a corruption storyline before it was ever mentioned on screen? Otherwise what was the point of even hinting at it? And Falconer was talking about foreign holidays pretty much immediately after her resurrection, so, lavish holidays that Lisa never questioned were always a part of the corruption story... Except, apparently not so much when they first mentioned the corruption story.
Was the original plan to have Lisa actually be a good detective, investigate Falconer & learn the truth on her own? Or was she going to have a breakthrough during therapy? Or had Lisa's guilt and grief deluded her so much that she'd completely forgotten all of the holidays she'd had with her beloved dead wife? Because the "quite the opposite" in that quote kind of implies that they were not going on any holidays at all
I assumed that RF was working for Curtisâ gang for a long time and getting paid for info, to lose evidence, make charges go away etc in the way most junior rank police corruption works. Whether she was recruited by the gang or by Costello Iâm not sure.
Then when the Counter Corruption cops started to investigate her she knew it would all come out so she stole a large chunk of money from the gang and faked her death. She told Costello in the alley âI canât spend my moneyâ. I feel like that only makes sense with this revelation about spending on the mortgage/holidays if she was getting backhanders for a long time but then also got a big lump that she hasnât been able to wash maybe?
Lisa telling Carla that RF was bad with money could mean that she was living beyond their means and spending money Lisa knew they didnât have. This should be a red flag for anyone but especially a copper who knows the signs of corruption. Even if Lisa assumed that RF was just getting them into debt with her spending habits Lisa would know that this would make them both more vulnerable to being corrupted in the future and should have put a stop to it. But then paying off the mortgage early doesnât indicate âbad with moneyâ to me and really does make Lisa look complicit.
âWe werenât nipping off to Marbs, quite the oppositeâ now feels like a lie from Lisa to Carla given everything Becky has said about holidays they took. Makes her look really guilty when actually itâs probably just inconsistent writing yet again. I feel like I should rewatch to figure it out with the benefit of hindsight but I reckon Iâll just find more inconsistency which will annoy me more.
this is such interesting dialogue. betsy didnt say "like she has been this whole time"
she said "like she always does". she said "of course you know [what shes going to do]"
im giving myself a point and you cant stop me
âDo you think sheâll ever forgive me?â
âBetsy?â
Thank you Kit! Anyone watching this from the POV of the child of a narcissistic parent needed to hear this line.
I really hope the whole âIâll take you down with meâ only lasts long enough for Betsy to let Becky have it. I honestly cannot be arsed to watch more of this womanâs scheming.
He's the One For Me | Corriedale | 2026-01-05
I was Vanity before I was Swarla and still want them both to be endgame.
But if someone wrote a fic where Carla did look up âThe Woolpack near Hottenâ I wouldnât not read it, yâknow?
