Review:
Better than the movies is a contemporary romance rom-com written by Lynn painter. The book revolves around Liz Buxbaum who is a romantic by heart. A true romance lover who loves music and the romance movies. She a sucker for 90’s movies just like her late mother. Things get a little more interesting when her childhood crush Michael decides to move back to town. Liz will do anything to go to prom with Michael, even if she has to bow down and ask help from Wes Bennet.
Wes Bennet is Liz’s attractive and annoying neighbour and her childhood nemesis. Since they were kids, Wes has done everything to make her life hectic from pulling pranks to fighting over the parking spot. Things have never been okay between the two. But now Liz needs Wes Bennett’s help, to get noticed by Michael so Liz can go to prom with Michael. As the two start there plan, Liz discovers that she actually likes Wes’s company. The two starts to grow closer forgetting everything about there years of hatred. Now, Liz needs to think about who she desires, her childhood crush or her childhood nemesis.
My personal view is that it’s an amazing book. A book which made me giggle and cry at the same time. One of my favourite scenes from the book is when Liz makes a playlist just for her and Wes. This scene was such an OhMyGod scene. A scene I could pay to read once again.
