I've always had plans to make more stuff of them. I have a whole story and everything, I just take 3 million years to do anything and am very anxious and particular about this story being as close to perfect as I can get. So I kinda keep redoing some things indefinitely, admittedly.

Galatea would be purely function over form. Maybe on occasion she would wear something exceptionally revealing or flashy ("lure" in prey, just without the physical fish lure etc etc)
Sara likely wouldn't, especially considering the lace code has been dead in the ground for years lol. She would probably avoid red and white though, just for her own sake, not because anyone would know what it means.

I'm also quite proud of the first illustration. I know kris doesn't have long sleeves but I thought it looked cooler so I just made them long. I got my printer to work properly so I can scan in drawings and not have it be 2 pixels big lol.

Is it like physically possible for Galatea and Penelope to kiss? I’m thinking about this cause of that one comic you made a few months back. Like I’m genuinely curious and have does Galateas mouth/portal work in general,
do her tentacles have suckers, can they move off of her or are the fused all around her body? Do they stretch and squish at will or do they stay the same length and she can just use them like extra arms?
Are the eyes around her body pseudo eyes (ie they’re blind or motionless) or does she have something a kin to 360 vision?
How is it that she can control and alter the taste of her blood or is it naturally sweet? How do the parasites work in the water ending
How is it that she can shoot lasers (?) out of her mouth hole portal thing, does she have teeth? Or a beak? I’m very hung up on this sorry
I think that’s it, I’m making a fic that’s gonna be more of a toxic dynamic compared to others and I wanna try and understand Galatea’s abilities better ^^
I've only loosely established some of what she can do, since most of it is explained away by 'she's literally an eldritch being, what does it matter?' but I did have some actual logic in mind while making her lol.
Probably not possible for them to kiss in the regular sense. Her mouth is just some ambiguously magical portal that technically also leads to a stomach, but she does have appendages that "live" in there. She's got two pincers that function like teeth, and any number of goop tentacle arms she can make. Literally everything in there is retractable.
They don't have suckers, and she can move them around at will like limbs, including stretching and squishing. She does actually use her eyes to see, but she likely has some weird sense of space like certain blind or eyeless animals do, even without the eyes. She would be some level of impaired without them.
The way I always saw her abilities is basically just god mode powers, but limited to only atoms that make up her body. Like, she can do straight up whatever she wants with any atom that's a part of her. It may not be easy, and it may be strenuous, but I'd wager it's fully possible. Her blood is made up of her atoms, so she can do whatever she wants with it. She altered the taste of it to be sweet, but since she's looking at Penelope like food, she purposefully put parasite eggs in the water to see if she would eat it on her own without realizing. Once she realized she drank it, she just triggered them to spontaneously grow and hatch. Now she's got a quick meal instead of playing the long game lol.
She doesn't have a beak or teeth, the lazer thing is just more atom manipulation. She converts the particles that make up her mouth/saliva into light and 'shoots 'spits' it out. Or something to that effect, I'm no scientist lol.

I’ve been meaning to ask how you made the assets for SAS like I understand how to make the dialogue sprites but not everything else and I’m planning two games and one of them is super complicated and is gonna have hella environments and the other one will be really simple and I’m using rpg maker mv exclusively (hopefully I’ll get my for the bigger one I gotta brainwash my rich friend into gifting it to me) and I have no idea how to use plugins (I’ll figure it out or I’ll raw dog it) but I’m mainly struggling with the assets :’)
ok I love rpgmaker as an engine, and making games is super fun, so I'm gonna genuinely dump far more info than would be warranted for a random ask, because I too also had no idea what I was doing at one point and wanted to make a game.
MV is a solid engine, the only reason I changed is because I could (the sale), and there was a good few QOL changes I really wanted to have along with more advanced plugins. But mv is still perfectly useable to make some really cool stuff.
If my suggestion means anything- do the smaller game first. Do not overwhelm yourself with something super huge, or even regular sized if you cant handle it yet. I had to go through like 2 separate game ideas before I gave up and pivoted to SAS where the art and story would do the heavy lifting, since I wanted something extremely simple functions wise (since most things were too confusing at the time), and something confined to one map.
Now in terms of assets, I'm not sure what you mean. I'm assuming you mean the tile sets used to create the map? Other assets like the animated cursor are all plugins, so refer to the plugin info for that stuff.
I used the default tile sets and then just, rewrote over them, to make sure the file could be read properly by the engine, since the file size and ratio matters.
This or something like it would probably be helpful to read.
MV uses a tile size of 48px, so the tile sets are being read in "squares."
Each square is a tile, so if you have a larger sprite you want to use, you just need to make sure you know how many tiles it's going to span across.
The candles and dresser take up one tile. Everything else is multiple tiles. So every time I put down a trash pile, I'm putting down 4 tiles together. The bed & dresser are also on a different tile set sheet, since the trash needed to be able to be placed on top of the other tiles.
As for bust sprites- you don't *have* to do what I did, but the way I did this was: I made all her sprites the height of the game window itself (624px). The width was only as much as I thought I'd need for her sprite. That way, I'd never need to position her up and down, only left and right. This is kinda scuffed though, but it's comfortable for me to work with, so I'm keeping this method for the time being. Feel free to use this sprite as a placeholder if you want lol
I used Glavs message busts for Penelope, but because Galatea kept getting cut off since her sprite was so damn huge... I ended up resorting to the classic, manual, yet very annoying process of showing her sprite as a picture, and then animating it fading in/out every single time. Which was the entire process using the plugin was supposed to avoid.
To animate galatea on the map, I just made a file as if she was a character, made the 2 frames in the walking left & walking right position. Made the event image her sprite, and then just made it walk (move) but fixed the position so it only cycled through the left/right.
I will say, and I cannot stress this enough, plugins are your friends.
There are so many really solid plugins that make things way nicer and easier. The vast majority of plugins have documentation on how to use them, so you don't need to raw dog it lol. If they don't there's likely an old youtube video or forum post floating around somewhere of somebody explaining it. The community is where you're going to find 99% of the help and resources you need.
I would have said to go to the rpgmakerweb forums- but the boneheads in charge decided they're going to close it down. After everyone got all bent out of shape over it (myself included) they at least started archiving all the plugins after the backlash, so hopefully plugins on the forums (a 10+ year old goldmine of info and resources about everything to do with this game engine) wont be lost. But everything else is still going to the shadow realm it seems.
The forums are still up in a read-only mode, I'd look for TheAm-Doll's comment on page 5 with all the links to other resources and places everyone is migrating to. If you're going to do anything in this engine, you're going to either need or desperately want community help/info.
