Prevention and treatment: Find out the cause of the disease and minimize the occurrence of trauma. The evil is that most cases can be cured, so human intervention should be minimized. Some hematomas can turn into abscesses and require incision and drainage. Occasionally, there are extensive hematomas throughout the body and should be eliminated.
Like hematoma, mucocystitis swelling is a painless, fluctuating soft swelling. However, its development is slower than that of hematoma, and its puncture fluid is a transparent liquid. It can also occur in the hock and wrist when the stables are insufficiently litter.

Treatment: Even with surgery, it is difficult to cure a large hernia in the flank of an adult cow. This type of hernia increases in size at the end of pregnancy and decreases in size after calving. Therefore, it can be considered to be eliminated.

The disease is a group disease of beef cattle, heifers and steers raised on overcrowded slatted floors.
