“Why thank you. Perhaps later I can explain the science behind it all if you’d like,” she smiled as she started to use the transducer probe over the area of Graye’s belly she had applied the gel to. “And here we go,” she spoke, applying gentle pressure and used the probe.
An image soon appeared on the screen after a few minutes. Poison’s eyes lit up with joy and she smiled. “Ah, there we go, Graye,” she spoke and pointed to the monitor, the image being that of the baby, albeit slightly grainy. “Not the best image but at least this machine works. I’m honestly just glad that it functions at all. And on the monitor is a picture of your baby. Good, seems like everything’s just fine,” the medic spoke happily. “Sorry about the pressure by the way.”
Graye was seemingly transfixed on the screen, trying to discern the shape of his baby in the grainy black and white image of the monitor. Once he was able to see the shape of his baby, a big smile spread onto his face.
Poison couldn’t help but smile as well. “Good, everything’s looking good,” she spoke happily. “After your baby’s born I want to schedule you for an ultrasound to see if you have any gallstones or kidney stones. Just a precaution, is all. In my experience a few pregnant people I know tended to also have gallstones as well. I’m not sure if there’s any correlation between pregnancy and gallbladder problems, but I wouldn’t worry about it. Nothing I can’t fix, anyway.”
She then started to type onto the keyboard, placing the probe down on the tray with her tail. “Gonna go ahead and print this for you,” the medic spoke, having inputting the command to print the image and wiped the probe off, grabbing a towel to also wipe off Graye’s belly.
The machine whirled up and began to print the image, taking only a couple of minutes to do so. “Here you go,” she said and handed Graye the picture. “Go ahead and lower your shirt. That’ll be all. Just make sure you stay hydrated and stay eating,” she added, jotting down the information on Graye’s chart.
