Google IO 2018 Highlights
Google showcased the latest developments in Android, Google Assistant, Google Maps, Google Photos, Artificial Intelligence, and much more in its last week’s Google IO in Mountain View, California, at the Shoreline Amphitheatre.  With keynotes, sessions, and presentations over the course of the three days, the developer conference is a platform to announce new software products and tools for developers as well as consumers.
While there were lots of announcements at Google we have shortlisted 5 awesome announcements made by Google IO in 2018.
Smart Compose
AI is all about productivity. Gmail can autocomplete entire emails. Google hopes that, based on the context of the recipient and the initial text you enter, you’ll be able to just keep tapping away at that Enter key and let the AI fill out your messages for you. Read more
Google Duplex
Google Assistant is becoming smarter. Now a natural sounding voice can make a phone call appointments and reservations for you. Google showed an example on stage that showed someone asking Google Assistant to call a hairdresser and make an appointment for a woman’s haircut at 12PM. Google maps
Something new has come up with Google Maps. It was built to assist everyone so in light of that, a new tab called For You is being added to Maps. It is designed to tell you what you need to know about the neighborhoods you care about, new places that are opening, what is trending and personal recommendations. Google created a score called Your Match to help you to find more places that you will love. Your Match uses machine learning to combine what Google knows about hundreds of places with information that you have added.
