Bunan Studies Qunlat: Phonology: Summary
After weeks of collecting data, my summary on the phonology of Qunlat is finally DONE. This will go over situations where phonemes (sounds) in Qunlat are generally found and will hopefully be a stepping stone to both discovering canon phonological rules and creating new ones for the Thedas Language Projectâs Project Qunlat.
This summary is designed to be somewhat loose. Every consonant/vowel that follows/precedes a phoneme in question is listed, regardless of whether they actually occur together in a word. What I mean by this is, for example, for [a] (the a in lawn) in the word laws, [a] can occur be between an l and z sound (transcribed to look like this: /l_z). In a different word, tall, this sound occurs between a t and an l sound (transcribed as /t_l). If we flopped some of these, one of the words we would get is taws ([taz]) which (to my knowledge, anyway) is a word that doesnât exist and can sound awkward in English. Though [t] and [z] donât necessarily go together in this pair, for the sake of inventing words for Qunlat, we can make it so in order to come up with more words for the lexicon, essentially giving us some wiggle room if need be.
My hope is that this summary can help to thoughtfully invent words that definitely âsoundâ Qunlat, both canonically and via rules @fenxshiral and the TLP team comes up with to expand the language, and steer away from the process of just âthrowing random words and hoping they stick.â
Other rules may be added over time and changes will be noted below:

Another take on @lyriumnugâs Qunari Mage, this time in Halamshiral finery :)
haha yeah i have a ton of weird kinks
Does anyone else just get like really stubbornly indifferent towards a popular character? Like you donât feel hateful but you feel yourself giving less fucks and falling deeper into fuck deficit every time people gush about how great they are and its kinda like being at a party where everyone else is having a good time and youâre awkwardly standing in the corner with the underappreciated dog.

my biggest pet peeve wiht the english language is that you donât have sin/sina
in swedish if u have two people who use the same pronoun u can always tell whos doing what bc its like âhan tog sin vĂ€skaâ (he took his[own] bag) and âhan tog hans vĂ€skaâ would be that he took the other persons bag
but in english its like if u have 2 ppl w/ the same pronoun:
âshe took her bagâ whose bag????WHose BAG was it her OWN bag or the other herâs bag??????????????
âhe ate his donutsâ were the donuts his own???? did he fucking eat someone elses donuts??? YIU DONT KNOW bc english is a bullshit languageÂ
its funny that people are calling this the gay fanfiction dilemma bc thats literally why i made this post. i was writing a gay fanfic.Â
Iâd be lying if I said Iâd never attempted telekinesis.
Falloutâs canon protagonists.
The Iron Bull Appreciation Month is coming up soon~ (For those who do not know, it takes place in May.) I hope you all are as excited as I am for it! So, letâs break down the monthâs activities:
The first week will be focusing on Iron Bull and his friendships with companions and NPCs. We can focus on important relationships that he has formed with other people like Gatt, Cole, Solas, Cassandra, etc.! Do you love Iron Bull, but didnât romance him? This week would be ideal to gush about the friendship between him and your OCs.
The second week is all about romance. Show us all about your characters and Iron Bull, how they fell in love, all your headcanons, and their relationship dynamic. What does Iron Bull and your OC love about each other? Tell us all about it!
The first half of the third week will be focusing on the important canon relationship: Adoribull (Iron Bull/Dorian). The second half will be about any rare/crackships you have! Did you ship Iron Bull and Cassandra? Maybe you ship him with Cullen or Krem? Vivienne or Aveline? If you wanted to share your ideas about it, then this week is perfect for that.
Finally, weâll close down the month by focusing on the Iron Bullâs Chargers. We all know how much the Chargers mean to him and vice versa, so this week can be spent appreciating and showing our love for them.
These are only the weekly events though! There are many other topics to consider focusing on throughout the month, such as:
Ashkaari: Wee little baby Iron Bull
Hissrad: Iron Bull before he became Iron Bull
Papa/Uncle Iron Bull: the Iron Bull with children
His years in Par Vollen and Seheron
Iron Bullâs humor and puns
The Qun, Qunlat, Koslun
Qunari of the series (Iron Bull, Sten, the Arishok, Adaar)
Iron Bullâs Pansexuality
Polysexual!Iron Bull
Human!Iron Bull
Iron Bull at the Winter Palace
Basically, any aspect of the Iron Bull is fair game!
Remember that old work as well as new work is more than welcome! We just want to see a lot of the Iron Bull circulating on our dashboards. So like before, please keep in mind that you can tag @romancingironbull to help get your work out there! You can also tag @cassandrashipsit, @belowbedlam, as well as me @fatalmirageâ if youâd like it shared amongst more people.
Special thanks to @ohsoang for providing so many amazing ideas for the monthly topics!
I canât wait to see what everyone has planned for the month!
So apparently the Storm Coast is actually located in Iceland.
