Not Insatiable but Insatiable. Imagine, new intern working for Bob A. You see Bob B coming in with his caboodle bringing Bob A lunch and a kiss goodbye and think "so cute" then a couple weeks later you see Coralee stopping by to pick up Bob A and dropping him off in the early mornings and think, carpool only to see her kiss him goodbye one lunch afternoon and assume him and Bob B broke up BUT Bob B comes the next day for lunch and kisses him goodbye now you're all incensed and confused because Bob A is not a two timer but he kissed Coralee AND Bob B only to see the three of them having dinner the following Sunday like, "oh, makes sense"
From now on I will only accept love triangles if they end in:
Polyamory
The main character rejecting both love interests and staying single
The two love interests giving up on the main character because how hard is it to make a damn choice?
OK BUT IF THIS ISN'T INSATIABLE AMIRITE??
Sadly, it pains me to admit that I was one of the people who signed the petition to cancel Insatiable but after getting halfway through the show, I’m glad they didn’t. It’s true, I am the type of person who judges a book by its cover and in this case, tried to burn that said book before even reading ten pages.
Insatiable is a great show and it makes fun of its characters when they think that being skinny changes everything. It shows that life doesn’t become magic once you’re skinny and your insecurities don’t disappear either.
Netflix’s Insatiable: Expectation vs Reality
Expectation: Cliche Fat-to-skinny transformation story where the main character attempts to get revenge on her bullies by winning a beauty pageant.
Reality: A deep, thorough look on how bullying and a not so great parent shaped a person with an insecure attachment style who tried to feel something positive through overeating and after losing weight thinks that everything will be perfect just like a cliche fat-to-skinny transformation but it’s not and she doesn’t understand why which leads to 12 episodes of her trying to do things for all the wrong reasons but also shows her trying to grow as a person.
