(Prospector goes by Pearson in this fic, last name hasn’t been decided on yet lol)
Prospector clipped on his overalls, picking up his hat from the dresser and walking to the bathroom to fix his hair. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes, he continued his routine. Speaking of, making his way to the kitchen he knelt down by the dog bed near the back door, petting the large wrinkly mound he called his dog. “Daisy, time to get up girl” He whispered, watching the old dog’s head slowly raise up. “Good morning pretty girl, you hungry?”
He always made his dog’s breakfast first, along with filling the water bowl up to make sure she had some water later on. After making sure Daisy was fed, he started on his own breakfast, occasionally glancing out the window to track the sunrise, making sure he was never late for work. Even without a clock, he was never late, sometimes even early if he was lucky.
Slipping on his boots, he tapped his thigh to signal Daisy to follow. “C’mon girl, we got some work to do. People to see, rocks to break” He hummed to himself, checking all the usual spots to greet his friends. Starting with the Angler, he greeted him with a quiet smile. Sitting on the dock, they didn’t say much. Most idle conversation was asking how the two of them were, or talking about Daisy. Speaking of the loyal bloodhound, she swiftly tried to get into the bait bucket. “No Daisy!” Prospector shot to his feet, lifting the old bloodhound with relative ease. “That’s not for you girl! We’ve talked about this” He used his sleeve to wipe the bait off her mouth, carrying her to Trapper and Trader. “Morning Trader! How’s Trapper?” Prospector sat Daisy down, leaning against the traveling cart.
“Ah, Mr. Pearson, it’s lovely to see you. Trapper and I are doing well, made some good sales recently..” The man tapped his fingers against the wood of his table. “I’m glad you’re doing well my dear friend, just remember not to be late for work” Pearson just chuckled, shaking his head. “Of course, of course. I’ve never been late a day in my life. Speaking of, I’ll catch you some time” With a smile, he walked back to his job site, Daisy quick in tow.
