[ gently runs her fingers against her neck, lost in her thoughts about the previous night's nightmare ]
SOURCE; DO NOT REMOVE.
"I thought we were fighting for freedom."
SOURCE; DO NOT REMOVE.
The images played through her mind over and over again as they had done since that day. The revealing--the realization--the battle--the heartbreak--Vergil's back as it turned towards them to walk away--all of it. It was something that she always thought about, and it always appeared in her dreams as well...
--but this time it was different. Something about this dream was very strange, yet familiar--as if it was something out of those horrible nightmares she used to have before she had been saved by the leader of the Order.
She watched as the nephilim twins took battle once more, both activating their demon triggers, both aiming to slay the other because there was no coming to any sort of truce on what they each stood for. There was no diplomatic way around it anymore--in order for one to prevail, the other had to die. Though, this time around, instead of Dante coming out on top, she watched as the thin blade of the Yamato pierced through his heart, pushing deeper and deeper through flesh and the soil beneath him like he had done to his brother before she had stopped him. Kat opened her mouth to scream in protest, but her lips parted and her throat ran dry, and her feet wouldn't move no matter how hard she tried to move them.
There hadn't been a thing she could do except watch the scene in horror. As the silver-headed twin lifted his head towards her, his face flashed the image of the mask he would wear when sending out messages to humans--a mask she once saw as a sign of hope was instead the object of fear and terror.
One step, two steps--he began to walk towards her, the tip of his thin blade scraping against the ground. Still her feet were planted, unable to move. Scared jade hues peered up at him, but the image of the mask appeared on his face again. A blood stained blue rubber gloved hand reached out towards her, and in a split second it was curled around her throat--
A scream of horror finally sounded from her lips and echoed from the walls of her small room as she sat up in bed, completely covered in a cold sweat. Her heart was racing and she grasped at her throat as if she really had lost that supply of precious air.
Drawing her knees in close to her chest, Kat wrapped her arms around them and buried her face against him, still trying to regain her breath as she shook from the fright. She hadn't had a dream like that in quite some time, so why did she have one now?
Was it some sort of vision?
She didn't know what it was or what it meant. There was only one thing she could determine from the experience:
Something in this realm had drastically changed.

you don't get lucky twice.
Look away, far into the distance. What do you see, everything you want to be?
Of course he was getting what he wanted, that was the point. Even if he only managed small victories now, in time he would succeed. Patience was rewarded in the end.
She really did need to start making decisions based on how she felt, Vergil could agree. It was mostly because he could manipulate how she felt if he was around more often, as was evidenced here. Dante was the block he ran into, but only because his brother was so blindly refusing to consider what he said that there was no room. Dante would not talk or listen. Bull-headed and naive.
“Yes…now they’re free, but for how long? That’s what I’m trying to say, Kat. Humans on an individual level, you for example, can do great things, but if you put them in a group? For every human like you, there will be countless others who would bring you down. I know that you know that. Even if they can keep it together for themselves when it’s just them, you still have demons who will interfere. Humans don’t stand a chance if someone like Mundus appears again.”
Still she continued to shake her head at his words. It all made so much sense but to believe it would almost make it seem like everything she had fought for had been for nothing--and that was what she was going to stick with.
"No--I--I refuse to believe that, Vergil!" she replied. Perhaps this conversation was going to get nowhere, because no matter how bad he was going to make her feel, she wasn't going to change her ideals. She didn't fight to allow the humans to be ruled by someone else. She fought for freedom and now she would fight to protect it.
"If you say it like that, then it's the same for demons, angels, nephilim--Stop grouping the humans as weak creatures. Stop underestimating what good they can do!"
--it seems to have been quite some time.
Dealings with a medium
He’d never been, or at least he’d never felt normal. The way things were going, well, he wasn’t sure ‘normal’ would ever be a word to discribe himself. Rufus had thought it would all go away. He was on his own now, run away from home, making a business of his own. It was not likely his father was looking for him anymore and the young entrepreneur was well on his way up in the business world. His company sales were rising!
So why did he constantly worry about his vision being on the fritz? Occasionally seeing monsters walking about the streets, on the T.V, even once or twice his lovely condo seemed to be a mess of rotting decay and ooze.
The blond had gone to a doctor. Nothing was wrong with his eyes… Whatever he was seeing— it was in his head. A soft sigh, journeying out into the streets.Fine white and grey pinstriped suit and a crimson tie. English cut. Black leather gloves and shoes. The image of a rich young man. Not a man filled with worries and secrets. Gun hidden away in his suit jacket.. A precaution— even with all the security in the world this town wasn’t safe. Catching the scent of the Virility factory made him almost gag. The man couldn’t understand how everyone said it was so good. Admittedly he haden’t tried it…. but the scent of it was the scent of sickness.
Venturing around the corner. He felt a shudder in his bones. Just cold air or something more?
A girl. Black hair, pale eyes. She stood out from the rest. Why had he even noticed the hooded girl? So pale except for the freckles across her face. Something compelled him to smile at her as she looked at him.
A dark shadow seemed to be creeping over the streets….
The "freedom" that the world had obtained since the demon king had been destroyed had come with a price. There was no definitive line between limbo and the human world anymore--it was all one place that ran together and created chaos. But this was the only way--if they hadn't done this then the world would still be brainwashed and controlled by demons without even realizing it.
It was what had brought to this man's place of residence today. Since the world had changed, there was this mindset that plagued everyone. Many thought they were just going crazy and that they couldn't see something like demons. Others thought that there were still terrorists on the streets. And this man? Well his was one of the wealthiest there was and there were rumors that he was going crazy too.
But she knew better. She could understand what he was seeing, and since she and Dante were working together to get a business off the ground for those who could actually believe they were seeing demons, she figured this was one of the best customer finds they could possibly hope for. Help the rich man--get some much needed money.
As he smiled at her, a small upturn of her lips was given in return. She folded her hands behind her back and tried to appear as professional as she could, despite the fact that she wasn't dressed all that professionally at all.
"Hello."
Might as well let it be known that she was here to see him.
ooc; I've been MIA. But I'm gonna attempt to make some replies you guys.
