Kouki had to admit that Michi was probably right, there was no way that the murders would stop now, especially now that things had gotten started. It was very difficult to find any positives from a situation like that but not impossible. For instance it gave Kouki and all the others a chance to perhaps come closer together, furthermore, he could hone his perceptiveness and detective skills that he never wanted or needed⊠but they were there. Holding his hands on his hips he closed his eyes in thought.
âYeah, y-youâre definitely⊠right⊠there is n-no way this is gonna stop but⊠we can hope for the best at the very least, and just⊠push through as the struggles come our way⊠I hope.â
He took a breath, Michi was hard to talk to, perhaps one of the hardest girls in this building to talk to, Koukiâs talent was all about reading peoples emotions and how they were feeling, and trying his best to behave in a way to best suit peoples needs but Michi was⊠difficult to read. However he decided that it was best perhaps to just go along with whatever she was saying, he figured that if she was so hard to read she must not want to be read, so perhaps the best way to deal with her was to simply go along with her words, ignoring any hidden meanings behind them if any at all.Â
âI dont think all adults are like that⊠I mean my mom was a wonderful woman, she was so kind and loved seeing people smile⊠I do miss her quite a lot⊠I hope sheâs okay, and not too worried⊠my only wish is that if somehow I dont make it out alive, my mother is comforted⊠I want her to be happy ya know? AH Sorry! Th-That was w-w-weird aaah im sorry im sorry! I hope me ranting like that was nt awkward or anything aaah im sorryâŠâ
Kouki for a moment there had forgotten who he was talking to, and just started blabbering on, but realizing not only was it Michi but also that it was a girl brought him back to reality, and utterly terrified him. And here he thought he was getting over his fear.
Well, colour her surprised, at least; she didnât think he was just going to agree with her. Is that how this conversation is going to go? Michi doesnât necessarily mind being validated like this, so she canât quite complain, but having meek Kouki agree that someone will probably take the bait and murder again was...
Surreal. She canât help but laugh to herself.
âRight? Maybe thatâs not something to be smiling about, but throw people in a situation like this and theyâll either get along or fall apart! I just wonder which weâll end up doing.â
She hums in exaggerated thought, before ultimately shrugging. Who knows? Not her!
But then Kouki is talking about his mother, and her smile thins out a bit. Right. The people who care about them on the outside. Michi hadnât put much thought into it, but...
What was going on out there?
âHey, say things like that and youâll jinx yourself. I can understand, though - I know a few pretty great ones, so maybe weâre just stuck with a shitty bunch of people. But, hmm... Since weâre in here, I wonder what theyâve been telling our family and stuff? The field trip should be long over but none of us are home, so itâs gotta be obvious somethingâs up.â
And then she adds, as if a second thought,
âAnd, itâs chill. Donât apologize so much; you were just talking about your mum.â
