You can close your eyes to the things you do not want to see, but you cannot close your heart to the things you do not want to feel.
Tabitha Suzuma, Forbidden (via perfeqt)
I used to think the worst thing in life was to end up all alone. It’s not. The worst thing in life is to end up with people who make you feel all alone.
Robin Williams (via resqectable)
Because a song can take you back instantly to a moment, or a place, or even a person. No matter what else has changed in you or the world, that one song stays the same, just like that moment. Which is pretty amazing, when you actually think about it.
— Sarah Dessen, Just Listen
I've been hurt so bad and I still love so hard. I admire my heart for that.
— Alexandra Elle, Words From A Wanderer
“If you want to succeed in your life, remember this phrase. The past does not equal the future. Because you failed yesterday; or all day today, or a moment ago, or for the last six months; the last 16 years, or the last fifty years of life doesn’t mean anything…all that matters is what are you going to do, right now.”
— Anthony Robbins
The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well.
Ralph Waldo Emerson (via quotefeeling)
She is something so rare that there’s no name for it, an absolutely unfrightened woman whose heart never went wrong. And her hunger to give love, her intensity and inner magnetism – it’s all there. And she cannot help any of it.
Martha Gellhorn, Selected Letters (via meineluft)
You need to learn to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life … work on the mind.
Elizabeth Gilbert (via meineluft)
Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.

And what about when I’m feeling sad or lonely?
Doesnt that make me worthy of love too?
We look up at the same stars, and see such different things.
— George R. R. Martin, A Storm of Swords
I really wish you cared. Cared as in cared enough to notice the subtle changes that once were, and now never cross your mind. The way you used to pick up subtle changes in tone, how you’d never let me sleep if you felt an ounce of sadness in me, how you’d be willing to listen and guide me through my struggles, and never make me feel anything but safe, validated and cared for. I miss you being interested and curious. I miss us asking eachother random questions about our favorite color, car or dream home. I miss delving into deep conversations that would last till 2am, where we resented to sleep.
But maybe I’m going mad from nostalgia upon an older you.
Oh how I wish you’d call me when you wanted to just say “hi” and hang up. I miss you opening up to me about your deepest fears, your biggest dreams, your views on flawed societal expectations and standards, and telling me, genuinely how much you felt about me. I miss you telling me how much you want to see me, and anticipating plans for our next adventure.
Im left in the silence of my own room to convince myself that this is all too much to ask, I know.

“Her own contempt for any forms of pressure society might put on her was so profound and instinctive that she as instinctively despised anyone who paid tribute to them.” - Doris Lessing, A Ripple from the Storm
