It wasn’t built for precious things like Ruth or her brother. So rather than let them wade through all that muck, he’d cleared the way for them. Like all good parents do. It began with Catholic school and when that began to show signs of tarnish, he pulled them. Had them home schooled all while he worked within the community. Greasing whatever wheels he needed to make it a more palatable place. He was well respected. A pilar even.

So with Ruth here in his lap...speaking so earnestly, he had two options. He could lie to her and tell her she’s right. Whatever thoughts stirring her in such a way should be condemned as inherently sinful. Or be honest. It was a simple choice, though as she squirmed in his lap...perhaps he had a bit of bias. “You’re my little one and always will be, but you aren’t so tiny anymore. You’re flourishing into a young woman,” his voice was soft as he spoke, the hand on her thigh moving to take her hand, “You’re going to have urges-- needs. To say that they’re sinful implies some sort of divine law...what could be more divine than you, my love?” His hand guided hers to her lap, pressing there gently to spread her thighs, his eyes never leaving hers though he could feel a sense of...heat rising in him, “Your body is a sacred thing.
