Rando fiction story off the top of my head

The sun beat down steadily on my back as I walked down the cobblestone paths. My eyes swept over the angry reds and lashed out vines around me. Tears stung my eyes and cold sweat dripped down my body. I couldn't leave this place though despite the horrors it held. Monsters of pure black substance and pearly white teeth gazed at me with dark purple eyes as they tried to rip me apart. They're not real I tell myself though those words seen like a lie. Near my friends day by day I see the beasts around us but they take no notice. I feel grateful they don't only I need to be plagued by such horrors then I can protect them from their grasp. Ensure they are safe and I'll keep the terror and fears and trauma shackled down to just my own mind. It is my curse to suffer alone.

While The World Celebrates The World Cup Don’t Forget Us

An incredible incident at the FIFA 2026 World Cup

48 teams. 3 countries. Billions watching. Flags, chants, pride everywhere.

The whole globe will celebrate football as freedom, joy, and being yourself out loud.

But right now in Sudan and in refugee camps across East Africaqueer and trans people are still in bondage.

We are LGBT refugees

We fled home because being queer meant prison, violence, or death.

We ran to Sudan, to Kakuma, to camps — places with no legal protection, no safety, and very little aid that sees us.

Some of us were betrayed by our own. Some of us lost everything.

We’re still waiting. Still hoping. Still surviving.

So while you watch the goals and the trophies this July 19, 2026 🔥⚽️🏆

Thanks. I'm a person who fled persecution and left my six bedroom house and a shop inorder to save my life in 2020.

When I fled I went to Kenya were i requested UNHCR to provide me with protect and they took me to their camp called kakuma refugee camp. When I reached there the truth was there was no protection just to see fellow refugees being killed by my naked eyes and no UNHCR came to solve the situations.

I live a life full of discrimination, attacks, isolations, torture and the worse was starvation and most of the times I used to take porridge and water with my friends not only that but also to get medication it was very hard because all the doctors were homophobic to our sexual identities.

The insecurities were many and we decided to call for a dialogue meeting with UNHCR and the government of Kenya. This was in 2023 December. Disappointingly what they told us was inhuman. "The government told us that they had no room for queer refugees in their country 'Kenya"... This forced us queers to look for another nearby county that would accept us to be host refugees and that was South Sudan.

All of us are now here in Sudan in gorom refugee settlement camp.

What makes us annoyed is that what we thought to get safety was wrong only to find that is again worse that Kenya. The levels of inhumanity here are on high levels. This is why I reach out and spread awareness so that we can get support and advocacy. Any kind of support can make aton to our suffering.
