"That was a pretty rough run, little brother. Are you sure that you don't need a healing spell? An extra health potion?" Azariah questioned his twin, a teasing tone in his voice. They had just finished clearing an entire dungeon of beasts, and portaled out once they got what they came for.
"You did that on purpose." Ares shook his head, still trying to catch his breath as he sat back. "I know you took my potions last night, just so that I would have to depend on you today." the young warlock sighed. Az didn't even need the health potions, since he had his own enchantments that helped him heal faster on his own. "I could have died."
"Oh, don't be so dramatic! I've no idea what you're talking about, you probably just lost them at the inn." Az denied his twin's accusations, even though they both knew the truth. "Now, you know I will always have your back, Ares. You don't need the health potions anymore, you have me."
"Was that both a lie and an indirect confession?" Ares asked incredulously, "What happens when we accidentally get separated? I'd have to circle back to find you, because I can't create my own portals yet. Do you know how often those beasts reform?"
"Yes, and I know you can handle them now. Your offensive spells are off the charts, and I'm not surprised. I had to be the healer for someone." Az lifted both of his eyebrows at his brother. "I may be the older twin, but you are the tank between us. Just look at how easily you mastered the elemental attacks. I'm not the one who can make it rain fire and ice.”
