What was the post you're apologizing for?
Here’s a screenshot of the post for which we apologised:
[image description: A post originally published by an anonymous entry on the “I once had a neurotypical tell me” blog on September 11th 2014, 7:30:37 pm. There is an image of two kittens as an avatar and the post counts thirty notes. The original post reads as follows:
"really getting tired of tumblr autistic people acting like they’re the only neurodiverse people who can consider their conditions a source of pride and strength, while the rest of us have to call our depression/ schizophrenia/ whatever an ‘illness’. like. if someone wants to consider their depression that way, cool. but I don’t, I am okay with my depression, I take pride in my depression, and people who imply that i’m only allowed to think of it as some tragic illness can go to hell.

Today, somebody asked asked me "what's wrong with you?" when I was gently kicking my own chair, so I told them that I was autistic but I was trying very hard to not disturb anyone and that the large crowd was making me anxious. He then asked me "So you're like Timmy from South Park or something?"

Autistic people don't have an imagination.

My mum told me about how my (suspected autistic and bipolar) dad was adamant that I wasn't autistic, just a 'naughty kid'. After I was diagnosed, he complained about Mum not referring me earlier after realising they could claim disability benefit and carers' allowance.

An apology
Dear followers,
We deeply apologise for our latest post. It has no space here on IOHANTM and has since been removed. Screenshots have been taken, however, for our accountability and future reference.
We're currently discussing what exactly went wrong so that we may prevent this from happening in the future. Know that the majority of our mods are both autistic and mentally ill. Once this post came to our attention thanks to Zi Zhen (omegaleveltelepathsdoitbetter) we both agreed and shared vois feelings on its contents.
Let this be clear: we do not condone nor accept any intra-ableism on our blog. Whomever wishes to be intra-ableist can do so at another venue. This blog strictly focuses on the micro-aggressions, discrimination and violence we as neuroatypical/neurodivergent people face by the hands of neurotypical people and abled society.
Once again, we are very sorry for any stress or grief this post might have caused and we will strive to not let this happen again.
Thank you for your understanding. Wahnenhardt

I once had a neurotypical person tell me to start looking on the bright side of things. I had tried to kill myself the night before.

I once had a neurotypical tell me (during a psychotic episode) that since the hallucinations were coming from /my/ brain, I was really doing this to myself. They also said I should be able to "think them away."

I had a neurotypical therapist flatly refuse to talk to me (alter) when I told her that the main person in our body wasn't around, because I was protecting her. She then snapped "If you keep sending these people out, why am I bothering with you?"

i once had a neurotypical tell me that because i was mentally ill i would 'snap + hurt someone one day, it's just science !!!!'

I got told that I could just "get over" my PTSD and triggers, after saying I literally cannot sleep with the door open at night.

A neurotypical once said to me 'You're not autistic, you just don't like people' after I had tried to explain to her about my autism.

I'm nearly 50 years old and only learned that I had type 2 bipolar disorder (later also learned that I had borderline personality disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder as well). I've had neurotypicals (or people insisting that they were neurotypical, by God, even if the evidence indicated otherwise) tell me plenty of things, but the ones that stand out most are the times when I was told to just stop being so selfish and looking for attention. That some people really had it bad, but I didn't.

My neurotypical psychiatric nurse once told me that if I was a Christian then I should pray until the suicidal thoughts went away.

I once had a neurotypical tell me I was "Mr. Sensitive" for not wanting to see or talk about their work due to my anxiety and depression.

Is it ableist of me to get annoyed when people submit sentence fragments? They just always throw me off and I have to complete the sentence in my head in order to feel comfortable again.
i don't believe so, it's perfectly okay to have trouble parsing things in your head.
Knowing that uni exams would probably make my anxiety worse I linked my flatmates to a resource abut how to help someone with an anxiety disorder. One of the points specifically said' don't tell us not to worry. If it were that easy, we would.' first comment from a flatmate? 'Awwww, don't worry, it'll be fine!'. Did you you even goddamn read it?!
