Halloween Cosplay Meetup Iowa
Alright guys, it’s that spoopy time of the year again! This year we wanna invite you all to celebrate with us! We are gonna be celebrating out at Jordan Creek Mall/Town Center in Desmoines,IA! We held our Sweaterstuck meetup there last year and it turned out really well! The theme for this meet is gonna be a cosplay in a halloween costume. For example I am going to be doing Feferi Peixes in a witch costume! As usual there will be goodie bags, this time we went all out with goodie bags so thee will only be 10, and that will be at a first come first serve basis. I will be bringing a bag of candy/trinkets and some not filled goodie bags for everyone after the first ten. As always there will be a giveaway, we have picked 3 prizes from Tentacle Kitty to give away. One more thing. Since we will be in a mall I would like to discourage any body paint, and if you paint your face please be careful. :) Time for the facts.

Iowa Cosplay Meetup
Hey everyone! So, it’s official we are having a park cosplay meetup in Desmoines Iowa on Saturday September 12th! Now, I know we said “cosplay meetup” but that does not mean you have to be in a cosplay to attend! We just really love it when you do come in cosplay! The first thing I wanna let you all know is we plan to go to Merle Hay Mall in Desmoines for food before we head to the park at 12:00pm. We encourage you to come munch with us at the food court! You also may bring a sacked lunch to the park if that is a better option for you. But please remember to throw your trash away! :) We will be scuttling over to the park at 1:00 to get things set up and ready to roll! Though the meetup won’t be starting til 1:30 officially. We are gonna be meeting near the Carousel! I am sure if you go over near the carousel and look around you will see some people in cosplay near some picnic benches! Or at least a girl wearing a blue hood on her head! As people arrive at the park we will be handing out goodie bags! If you have not been to one of my meetups before, we have a first come first serve policy of 20 goodie bags! Then we will do our traditional meet and greet! Where you will get a sticker badge that says "Hi my name is ____ !“ Where you fill it out with the name you prefer to be called! Tell the group your name and a fun or silly fact about yourself! Sorry this page has been pretty inactive this year! It has been a very busy con season this year for me, plus some personal stuff. But I have good news! I am looking into having a meetup here soon! Though this one won't be purely homestuck based. It will be more about just cosplay in general! (This does not mean you can't still cosplay homestuck at this meetup!) We wanna expand these meetups beyond homestuck. I won't be stopping Iowastuck meetups of course. Just throwing another kind of meetup into the mix!
Anyway, I am just seeing who would be interested in this. It will have the same aspects as our Iowastuck meetups with games,goodie bags, and the usual give away. We are wanting this to be our Picnic Meetup! Meaning we want to hold it in a park!! So we would love if you reblogged and if you are interested, or have suggestions for where we should hold this meetup to add them to your reblog! :D Keep in mind we will need a nice park!

Can anyone go and can you cosplay as anyone? Is there a website or will the blog have all the information and is there any requirements/pricing?
Hello! Yes anyone can go to our meetups and you can cosplay as anyone. The blog will have most of the information. Our facebook page is updated right up to the minute the meet up starts and sometimes during so that is honestly your best bet, but we keep both tumblr and facebook updated with the need to know info! There is no price or requirement.
Going to Anime Iowa?
Hello Iowastucks! This is Bren, letting you know some important Homestuck facts if you are going to Anime Iowa this year!
But let me start out by saying how excited I am to get to see everyone again this year. As you know our Perkinstuck meetup was our very first meetup and was held the day before Anime Iowa last year. So this convention will mark one year that we started these meetups. Now this year we will not be having a meetup on the day before Anime Iowa starts. But that afternoon/evening we will be having a giveaway which I will give more details about at a later date. Which will include the prizes,time of gathering for the giveaway, and location.
Another announcement is that I will be hosting this years Homestuck photo shoots. I am very excited about this, and I hope you all will make this an enjoyable experience. I am not a super loud person, so I would appreciate it if you guys tried extra hard to pay attention and be quiet when I am talking. I will have a couple of people with me in case I do need a loud voice or anything like that. But I hope they will not have any work to do at all! :D
We are having a shoot on Friday at 4pm on the back patio, I will be cosplaying Aranea Serket all day that day same version I did for Nebraskon. So if you have questions about the shoot during the day please feel free to seek me out!
The other shoot is going to be on Saturday, at 1pm in the same location. I will be cosplaying the Disciple, it might be a bit harder to pick me out in this cosplay but again feel free to seek me out for any question, etc.
I am really excited about this everyone. I really hope we get through the main photos as quickly as possible and get to do some shipping photos! See you at Anime Iowa! :D

Alright guys, so as some of you have heard we are holding our 4/13 meetup the Saturday before. Since 4/13 is on a Monday this year. We plan to have goodie bags,some raffle prizes, and tons of other fun things. We have decided the theme of this meetup will be 50'stuck!
So the meetup will take place on Sunday April 11th, 2015 Meetup will be held in downtown Iowa City,IA 123 South Linn Street Iowa City, IA 52240 We will be meeting up infront of the Iowa City Public Library, @12:00 pm We will have some really awesome goody bags to hand out! As always we try to get around the ammount of people who have RSVP'd when we are making these goodie bags. So remember to RSVP so we know how many we need to have ready! Goodie bags are first come first serve. The theme for this meetup is 50'stuck! We are really excited to finally be doing this theme. If you show up wearing 50'stuck cosplay you will get one free raffle ticket! Instead of a giveaway this time, we will be having a raffle for a couple of prizes. As you may or may not know. We hold these meetups out of our own pockets. We think this will be a good way to get some funds for the next meetup! We also except donations. Prizes will be announced closer to meetup date. Raffle Ticket Prices: 1 for $1.00 or 10 for $5.00
