I compiled my favourite takes from the refs I took to animate my shots. After discarding many other takes, these refs have to be applied to the specific characters which often means you have to edit them along the way. It's about understanding what gestures and timing you can use, which ones you better omit for clarity, and how all that translates into the character you're animating ( his/her movement style, talking, energy, etc). And then, on top of that, you add the artistic pass making sure the poses are appealing and graphic, and the movement feels right.

Early on in the show, we were tasked to do a piece of test animation to help familiarize ourselves with the characters/rigs as well as the style of the show. We only had a week to do our test and we called it, "Heist Week". Everyone did some really fun, expressive, and over-the-top tests that really helped us to discover and explore what the style ultimately became.

For my test, I chose Police Chief. I absolutely loved her design and felt she was such an expressive and fun character. It was a fun bit of exploration.
