Schematic Composition (originally by Sophie Taeuber-Arp, displayed at MoMA)
I chose to replicate this work because it represents both order and disorder. It’s seems to be very exemplary of our lives- we strive for some organisation but encounter surprises that disrupt balance and symmetry. The beauty of this work reminded me that that may be a good thing. I animated the largest rectangle - appearing only when the cursor is within it’s parameters. It represents that we do have some control, even when oscillating between orderly and disorderly states.
