Only Murders in the Building is proof that you can be a white man born before the Boomer generation and still not be creepy, outdated, or rely on that typical stale “old man humor.” You just have to be Steve Martin and Martin Short adapting your comedy to modern times in a way that feels natural and universal, becoming an adorable but cool grandpa whose dad jokes are weirdly hilarious instead of painfully cringey.
