This nook, this tree, this borrowed moonshine, oh-
I’m fettered, bound, constricted by this isle.
My mind began to stray some time ago,
To find the din, cacophony, and smile.
I can withstand the flame, I crave the light,
The hoar, aurora, hail, almighty squall,
Throw out my arms, it’s my life to ignite!
So full of air, hot, ready for a brawl.
A life in halves, I’ve got to join the dots,
Get goosed up, shake up life and sail the world.
It’s time to roll the dice and take the shots,
Discover who I am when I’m unfurled.
What now? The future’s not what it could be.
I don’t know what’s in store; life’s slippery.
