You guys took Duets off spotify. Did you finally realize it just sounded like a worship band covering Fleetwood Mac songs?
Here’s me doubting you’ve heard Fleetwood Mac.
Also, it’s on Spotify. Listen and enjoy.
A thing to not miss.

shirt is the best shirt you've ever done fuckos
I like the Iron Pier ‘rodentcide’ shirt best, I think.
I’m wearing it now.
Self Defense Family - Brittany Murphy In 8 Mile
I say, “you need to separate the ill from the illness” You tell me, “it’s not so simple. Depression is part and parcel” and you’re sick to death of cures for you as a person
I say, “that’s probably truth. But I could’ve used some clues long before I got invested.” You reply, “I telegraphed it.” Daily tears since I met you, and that’s not a romantic gesture. True mess, that’s my nature. And I guess that’s what thrilled you. You wanted it until it bit you. Then you ran like it chased you.“ I say, "I have a nature too.” And you end with, “yes, I know.”
Austrian rest stop roll call. James was sleeping.
Is that rodenticide shirt on iron pier family authorized and approved?
One of my favorites. Makes me feel like we’re in Unsane or something.

Coming on Cassette Store Day 2016: Hollow Sunshine’s trilogy of EPs Coward + Leader + Omega
California-based duo Hollow Sunshine will release a trilogy of EPs, Coward + Leader + Omega, on the Iron Pier record label for Cassette Store Day. Available Saturday October 8th, 2016 this release is a one-time-only cassette pressing limited to 50 units.
The three EPs compiled on this release betray inspirations ranging from the spiritual-minded prog of Popol Vuh to Joni Mitchell's late-in-the-game experiments in rhythm and atmosphere. The pensive Coward casts a long, paranoid shadow, Leader's buoyant pop almost seems to defy gravity, and Omega burns the whole script in a psychedelic fever.
This is the first time Coward + Leader + Omega will exist in a physical format. Whether heard together or separately, they demonstrate incredible range from the duo of Reuben Sawyer and Morgan Enos and serve as a new chapter for Hollow Sunshine's increasingly bold and intriguing body of work.
Coward + Leader + Omega will be available on October 8th at Iron Pier's webstore and via other online and physical record stores. The label will also be hosting cassette specials for other releases at their webstore for Cassette Store Day: www.ironpier.net
Self Defense Family - Colicky (2016)
The absurdity of Self Defense Family’s output level not getting in the way of their stupidly consistent and experimental post-punk should always be something held highly, and when it comes to releases like Colicky, it’s so fucking easy to label them ‘best of 2016’. From opener 'Staying Current’, the production is fantastically distinct and lo-fi - suiting the somewhat basement-dwelling take on post-punk on display this time around - without driving the focus to aesthetic or gimmick. As always, Kindlon sounds fantastic doing something unusual, his reverb-driven moaning lands with a depth while leaving out overdone emotiveness. From that, to the vocally tiring but instrumentally light 'All True At The Same Time’, 'It Isn’t Very Clear, Is It?’ borders on instrumental with a bass/guitar combo that wouldn’t be out of place soundtracking a scene in a film involving drugs, in whatever grim and bleak way. This EP/mini LP/4 track release touches on the grittier side that SDF haven’t ventured for a while, but with recent releases like Superior, they’ve got into a great routine of lining up a number of releases with similar but distinctly different sounds, that are all deeply fulfilling.
