Mylingdans by Taima
This is a scene featuring the girl playing on the her flute for three mylingar.
A myling is the ghost of an unwanted child. In old times, it was not unusual that an unmarried woman would hide her pregnancy and kill the newborn. In fact, is was the most common murder in that time, since the mother would often become an outcast and sometimes thrown out by the family. Often the dead child was hidden away in the forest, sometimes it was even put out to die if the mother couldn't do it herself.Â
The myling would then scream and cry, and often pull pranks and scare unknowing wanderers. They show by the age they would've been if they were alive.
There were said to be a few ways to help a myling come to peace (it really differs from one story to another), such as giving them your name, bury them on consecrated ground, and usually - justice against the mother who killed them.

Irrbloss
/Canti
Once upon a time there were two children, a sister and a brother.
The brother suddenly disappears into the forest, following magical lights - irrbloss, and the sister is forced to look for him.
That’s when she hears a mysterious melody, from somewhere inbetween the trees… And suddenly she finds herself standing eye to eye with a fairy.
The fairy offers her the magical flute, and without understanding the implications of bargaining with such a fae, the girl accepts the trade.
Something that would prove to be the biggest mistake of her life…
Irrbloss is a game, but also a fairytale by heart, which the whole game is shaped around. The setting take inspiration of the deep woods of Sweden and Scandinavian folk lore - with little people, trolls, fairies, and all that comes with.
The music is one of the most important elements of the game, both for setting the mood, and for the mechanics of the game. The flute works like sort of a magic wand, but instead of magical words and gesticulations, you play notes with help of the keyboard to move forth in the game.
Everything to save the brother...
Have some gameplay (with music!!) from the first alpha-demo. c:
Please note: Graphics, sounds and music is not final.
This is a very early concept trailer we threw together over just around 24-34 hours hard work.
OBS: it's in Swedish, but there are English subs added through youtube!
Some of the first concept art made for the game, very early in production!
