1D 10 year anniversary

On July 23rd former One Direction members: Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and surprisingly reconnected member Zayn Malik are planning something special for their dedicated fan base to celebrate the group’s 10 year anniversary. The band had their start in the music industry in 2010 when each member auditioned for the UK’s X Factor. Every young man auditioned as solo act’s and made it a few rounds as soloists’ until they were conjoined into a 5 member group.

The group eventually became finalist in the X Factor and came out in 3rd place. Despite most thinking their 3rd place achievement to be their highest level of success, One Direction former manager Simon Cowell at the time said “this is not the last of One Direction” which presumably signified, the future of One Direction was far from over.

While indeed it was not the end of this boy band’s journey, the group released 4 successful albums, won 9 awards, had a tv show, and captured the young hearts of many teenage girls around the world. Their road to success was never overlooked, their loyal fanbase who refer to themselves as “Directioners” always made sure One Direction was a group to be noticed.

Fast forwarding to 2020, while the young men have grown apart musically and have been exploring their musical preferences with their solo albums, all remain in contact. Fans all over the world are excited for the 10 year anniversary and are anticipating either new music or an official announcement of them reuniting as a group.

Whatever the surprise is, I, as a directioner myself just can not wait to see what we will receive from the boys.

Why John Ambrose McClaren should have been endgame

I picked up the books of “To all the boys i’ve loved before” after watching the movie, just because I was so curious about the last scene with that cute boy at her door. I knew he had to be a romantic interest and that I would like him (just look at his adorable face). I almost didn’t make it trough the first book, because the relationship between Lara Jean and Peter was… hard to swallow (it was better in the movie tbh). But then I read that the cute boy with the letter appeared in the second book, so I decided to just go for it. And now I love him.

*sigh * I always have second lead syndrome, so, of course I had to love John. The first book I didn’t even fully understand Lara Jean’s relationship with Peter. They were always trying to be in control, to compete, and their conversation felt forced (without mentioning how awful the whole ex girlfriend drama was and how stupid Peter was about it). It was always hard with him, but with John… He’s genuinely nice. Lara Jean laughs so easily with him, without thinking about surprising him or challenging his expectations. She doesn’t need to; with John, she feels funny and pretty and interesting for herself.

I just needed to take this out. I’m sad that he wasn’t endgame; I couldn’t stop myself from falling a little bit in love with him, even if I knew from the very beginning that it was a lost case. He pulled no crap, he was honest, attentive, caring and knew, just fucking knew, how to be a decent person and a better friend. Also, he is kind of mischievous and isn’t afraid to stand for himself.

The books are so light; I read two of them in a day. Although they don’t tell the kind of story I enjoy reading, John Ambrose McClaren, I read them for you, and it was worth it. You always cared about the little things and treated people with kindness and respect. Thank you, imaginary boy, I’m sure the girls in your school are glad Lara Jean didn’t pick you.

“I don’t think it was our time then. I guess it isn’t now, either.” John looks over at me, his gaze steady. “But one day maybe it will be.”>>
