When Opposites Attract, part 4: There are certain things that one must fight to protect

You know⊠that point in a story or character arc when emotions are at their peak and the story begins to unravel little by little.
Culmination points like this oneâŠ
⊠where two opposites meet in the middle to create something new.
So please excuse me while I nerd out about one of my favorite OTPs under the cut. Like⊠itâs nice to brainrot about an OTP that isnât trying to kill each other every once in a while.
I think there are lots of âwild fan-theoriesâ out there after Aqua and Rubyâs reveal to each other about their pasts. I understand that this might caused the ânew opinionâ about Ruby might be the ânew challengerâ of Aquaâs potential pairing partner and such on. We know that Sarina has her deep connection with the doctor which might be one of the tickling hint about romance possibility with doctor.
Despite the debate and wild discussion, I found that this reveal becomes a âgame-changerâ for Oshi no Koâs plot, which might be difficult in my opinion to know where the story will going to. If they reveal their pasts to each other, will they focus on the upcoming movie project in honor of their mother idol or will they bring up their grudge toward their pasts and looking on its closures? It seems like both Aqua and Ruby will tell each other on what has going through, just like the first time this kind of plot happened, which was the time Aqua revealed their secret to the public as Aiâs biological children.
The thing is, Oshi no Ko claimed themselves in climax arc, in which they have to answer a lot of story plots , including their current biological father and the crow girl. In the one side, the reveals have to be treated carefully because either it would be increasing the storyâs tense or just rushing it up for the sake ending the work. But on the other hand, this plot reveal might be the way of both creators (Aka and Mengo) to taking the real plot being back on track. I saw that previous arcs were focusing more into showbiz stuffs and vessels of the creators to do social criticisms about it. But now, I can see that the plot goes back to âDoctor and Sarinaâ, not âAqua and Rubyâ. Despite the title is âOshi no Koâ, the main characters are still âDoctor and Sarinaâ. This latest chapter might be an indirect message that the tense will get higher from now and the plots might be more thickened than before.
Who knows where the story will go through, but maybe this is a reminder that the story is about two people from the past who needs the peaceful closer, which bringing up others in the âworld of liesâ.
This is the revelation I get after reading one of the most trending Shueisha digital comics for past months.

After these 16 chapters, I realize that this comic is actually reaching a brand new 'rapidly growing audience generation', which is 'audience with problematic parents'.Â
The main characters are children with bad parents, which led to bad life, and ended up into villains of their life itself. From the sight, the comic shows how pure they were but the life was not. It hurts and disturbing at some points.
And there's Takopii, the 'messiah' of these children. Takopii comes from the good and loving family, while this little creature wanted to giving happiness to others due to its nature ("I want to make [insert here] happy, pi!"). But, life is not same for everyone. We ended up hurting each other because we learn that world is not same by treating us. But Takopii keeps trying because Takopii wants to share that everyone deserves happiness. The thing is, we have to facing the difficulties in our life on our own.
This comic is short, but deserved by its fast-pacing and packed lore. Â The story is really painful and disturbing, especially with people with traumatic experience of bullying, suicidal mind, and --especially-- crappy parents' treatment. However, I feel like the creator wants to tell us that life is short, life might be hard through us, but we have our own control to deciding what kind of decision we have to do.Â
Don't let your crappy life or parents dictating how your life and personality be, but be kind to others and let's facing it because we are not alone.
We are absolutely not alone.
Hopefully there would be a 'takopii' that would reminding you forever in the nearest time.
Once again, this comic has warning: suicidal mind, bullying, and traumatic experience.
Both of them have long hair.
Both of them are long-time higherups on their own respective circle.
Both of them specialized in water-related battle ability.
Both of them are kind of outcast of their own circle.
Both of them appear for the first time in the snowy day.
Both of them decide to saving a couple of sibling in nearly dead experience.
Itâs just, both of them are in opposite cohort in which the parallelism is uncanny.

Despite the situation that they face, I couldnât unseeing how similar their journey are in-canon. They accidentally met the respective siblings and decided to âgiving them second chanceâ to live. However, these siblings were also having polarly opposite life journey in which affecting lots of people as well.
While Douma shown himself with âmercyâ and humanly âsadâ while giving Gyutaro and Daki/Ume his blood, Giyuu was being harsh and rude to Tanjirou for assuring him that choosing the way to protecting Nezuko would be a bearish road to go through. It is kind of interesting that Douma is being so âhumanâ yet âkilling the humanityâ while Giyuu decided himself to âkilling his emotional humanityâ to saving othersâ.
Interestingly enough, Douma has silver to blonde hair and bright âbeautifulâ eyes while Giyuu has black hair with darken blue âdeadlyâ eyes. Both of them show interesting parallelism in which affecting the parallelism of the siblings as well. Even so, Douma goes so easy-going on behalf of his ignorance of humanity while Giyuu detaches himself from outside to keeping himself for not hurting others and also himself. They brought the outstanding two sides that actually kind of bigger potential to be explored in the future. At least, itâs a dream to be wished for.
Kimetsu no Yaiba: Entertainment District Arc shows how different ways might given different outcome. The theme is occurred around âtwo waysâ to go, regardless that both of them are existed due to âbeing survivedâ and âstrive for the lifeâ. Sometimes, fate is really unavoidable, based on who we met and what we choose to do.Â

Himejima has such a shipperâs heart, doesnât he?
He probably notices things that the characters themselves donât even notice, as a bunch of little comments throughout the second fanbook (besides the wonderfully insightful section on how the Pillars see each other) makes me think that the Wind, Water, and Insect Pillars are all especially dense when it comes to romance. Shinobu herself can only give Mitsuri love advice in the form of assessing it as medical symptoms, it doesnât seem sheâs dedicated much thought to her own heart and tastes.
So⊠my thoughts on Shinobu, and by extension, Giyuu and Shinobu as a pairing.Â
First, one thing to get out of the way: Giyuuâs got a type, itâs manly men. Sabito? So cool. Sanemi? So cool. He probably has no idea how this personality type attracts him, and Shinobu is so far from that. I doubt he felt any particular attraction to her in the first place.
Shinobu, if anything, seems like the type to get easily annoyed by men. It can be the same behavior, but somehow itâs more permissible from a girl than from a boy. Likewise, Shinobu is attracted to cheerful personalities (Kanae, Mitsuri, even Tanjiro grew on her really fast), which Giyuu most certainly is not.
But we also see in these little comments some other things that they subconsciously really care about. Giyuu doesnât say it, but he really likes that Rengoku and Mitsuri reach out and talk to him. Shinobu can probably tell that Giyuu is lonely, but itâs so frustrating, because he wouldnât have to be so lonely if heâd just talk more. Even if this trait annoys her, she seems to subconsciously worry about him.
Likewise, Giyuu appreciates that Shinobu talks to him. Giyuu notices that sometimes she looks unwell (sheâs probably been poisoning since before the Spider Demon arc, so good on him for noticing).
Himejima likewise sees a tendency in Shinobu to push herself too hard, heâs probably picked up on the fact that Giyuu is sensitive to this too. Himejma has known Shinobu ever since she was a little girl, so heâs probably grateful that Giyuu would pick up this about her too, since Himejima probably knows there are limits to how much he can advise Shinobu to take care of herself. Likewise, Himejima notices that Giyuuâs got a dark personality, but he seems to enjoy talking to Shinobu (yes, Giyuu is indeed happy when she talks to him). Himejima notices that a more playful side of Shinobu comes out when talking to Giyuu, and heâs probably grateful to see her relax around someone like that.
So, quietly, of course Himejima must be hoping itâll blossom into something good for them both.
BUT THEY ARE SO DENSE.
My further conjecture is that if Shinobu had any particular feelings for Giyuu, she either wasnât aware of it, or she chose to downplay it in her heart. We see one private fretful moment at the beginning of the Pillar Training arc when she scolds herself for not being able to keep her feelings under control, as she seems to find this a key element of being a good warrior. If she were aware of special feelings for that grim colleague, sheâd probably set it aside as silly, for sheâs got more important things to worry about, and people who she already has chosen to prioritize (avenging Kanae, seeing Kanao grow into a functional person, making sure no harm comes to weaker people in her care, etc.). Furthermore, romantic feelings have a way of making one vulnerable, and Shinobu is at a state of maturity where she probably flees from any sense of vulnerability.
If Giyuu had any special feelings for her, he probably had no idea. Heâd probably require someone pointing it out to him for him to get it, and heâd probably turn to stone for a day or so, and then if he accepts it, heâd probably not be able to act naturally around her all for a while (which would probably tick Shinobu off a bit if she doesnât know whatâs going on. Likely, since it doesnât seem sheâd suspect Giyuu of having feelings for her).
(Quick caveat: Shinobu might also be the type to distance herself from her emotions enough that she could enjoy a friends-with-benefits relationship. I think Giyuu would have more trouble with this, though, he seems like an all-or-nothing type. And most of the time, heâs giving nothing unless someone like Tanjiro forces his way in to make it an all-in friendship. In a âweâre colleagues but secretly weâre up to other stuff on night missionsâ sort of dynamic, which I can see working in the realm of fanwork (but not canon), my thought is that Shinobu would be the instigator, but Giyuu would quickly sink into deeper feelings.)
So, letâs say they do have feelings for each other, and somehowâSOMEHOWâmove past their own respective difficulties with fluffy feelings, and SOMEHOW become a couple.
It would take a really long time, I think, but if it were to happen, theyâd probably be a very solid couple. Theyâve got a lot of similar trauma they could unpack together, and likewise, it would be good for them both to have someone value them and get each other to accept that. Giyuuâs got years of feeling like he should had been dead and never deserved to even be in the Corp, Shinobu valued the people around her so much that she constantly tries to suppress her own feelings and nature personality, and if it means avenging Kanae, then yes, itâs worth going on a suicide mission.
But even with that kind of hard work going on under the surface, in the day to day, their interactions as a couple annoying each other and caring for each other in little ways would be a lot of fun.
Tl;dr: If Shinobu has a crush on any male character, yes, itâs probably Giyuu. But I place a lot of weight on that âif.â
Akaza and Doma are the only two of the upper moons with any kind of relatoinship to each other, namely in how much Akaza despises Doma, and how despite that Doma pretends to be his friend. For both of them itâs more like a hollow imitation of a connection than any genuine feelings between them. That being said, despite the fact they have no true feelings for one another the characters are heavily connected in story. They may not be best friends forever, but they are best foils forever. The reason Doma and Akaza could never get along is because they both believe the same thing, that there is nothing enjoyable about life and no meaning in continuing to live. The difference is Akaza had the love that made his life meaningful and lost it, whereas Doma never had any to begin with and has no idea those feelings even exist.Â
Which is why despite the fact that they do not get along, the two of them complement each other. They were made for each other in fact. Made to reflect each other. LETâS TAKE A LOOK UNDER THE CUT.Â

When I see the official ufotable goods for Kimetsu no Yaiba Halloween, I see like...
..when Giyuu uses Death God clothes and Shinobu uses Witch clothes imply that they are cursed to loving anyone and deserved to be alone. You know, in some cases, Death God will give bad omen to people that he cares lot and probably making them dead and Witch is supposed to not loving and be loved by someone because it will making bad fortune to her also the one that she cares on.
...so...yeah...you know...you can interpret it by yourself.
