Isat’s been a great inspiration for me, I’ve never been so active in another fandom. I found the game at a pretty low point, before being diagnosed with depression, before knowing I had something that affected me so much.

Seeing Siffrin’s struggles and my similarities to him pushed me to take that step (still took months to do so) and look for help, I’m not there yet, I don’t feel I’ve moved that far forward but, I’ve still gotta give it what I can.

Seeing yourself in a piece of media can make you feel so seen and that what you’re going through, can get better. If you take those first few steps the people who love you will walk with you.

For a lot of the game Siffrin feels like a “what if” for if I trusted my friends less, if I isolated more. It feels really nice to explore that experience and hold pride in the healthier choices I actually made.

ISAT helped me discover I wasn't actually content with the direction I was taking my life. Siffrin's backstory and the fandom's interpretations of it made me face the holes in my own memory, how I could relate somehow with the idea of an erased culture yet not processing the grief of something I actually never had. The family and yearning for staying together sent me into a rediscovered passion of wanting to be remembered and loving the life I had, have, and can potentially have.

this is SUCH a lovely idea for a blog. spreading positivity, giving people a space where they can sing the praises of a game they hold dear to their heart - love it, love it, love it <3

and to add some positivity of my own - isat is a great game. definitely in my top 10 games. top 5, even. i sure love seeing The Character go throught the Torment Nexus timeloop. i've been trying to learn how to play some of the soundtrack on my keyboard - it's a work in progress haha!

This game really connected to me as a fellow diaspora. Having my connections to my culture taken from me because of reasons beyond my control is a hard feeling that I've struggled with for a long time. This game and the community made me feel a little less lost.

Mirabelle's friend quest was the reason that I actually realized the aro part of me being aroace. (I'd already known that I'm ace for a long time beforehand though.) I don't quite know where I am on the aro spectrum, but I know I'm somewhere in there. But also??? It felt really nice to be so Seen by a character like. "YES, OH MY GOD, MIRABELLE YOU GET IT, YOU UNDERSTAND!!"

I never played ISAT but the fanworks and discussions made from it helped me so deeply move out of a dark time in my life and now I find love in my friendships and accept myself as greyish aroace. Siffrin, you forgetful rogue, I'll shake you in the Tragedy Jar i call my brain

I can relate to Mirabelle because I also love angsty stories that could potentially end either bad or positive. The romance is weird but also super sweet, she gets me and I'm glad she, and Siffrin with their own ace feelings, exists to make me feel not alone and show there's different ways for us to experience things even with a similar label 💖

I love that so many relationships between the characters can be turned into a queer platonic relationship. I love that these ships are all so familial and caring, because they're all a found family who literally fought to be together. It's so important to me as someone who greatly relates to Mirabelle in my own ace/aro reaction to romantic relationships. It's just so refreshing that this Fandom values deep platonic friendships on the same level as other ones.
