Welcome to this blog! As the name suggests, I will post an isopod species here everyday. I hope you can get just as much joy from seeing these amazing animals as I get researching them! :]
If you have anything to say or any feedback, asks are always open.
Happy browsing :]
More info under the cut!
General
Most of the time, a post will just consist of an image + the name of the species.
On special occasions, more information about an isopod may be provided (See this for an example)
I will try to post every species only once (submissions and asks are excluded from this, see Asks & Submissions)
If you see something wrong, tell me and I'll fix it
You can request a morph, but they most likely won't be posted if not requested
Tagging
#isopods #[Species Name] -> Normal isopod post
#an isopodic ask! -> Asks
#submission -> Submissions
#isopod meta -> General, non-isopodic posts (like this one)
#id #[Taxon Name] -> Attempts at isopod-IDs
Sometimes posts will be tagged with multiple of these. There are some special cases where an isopod hasn't been assigned to a specific genus yet (this happens with morphs), so the normal isopod post tag will look something like this: (See here for an example)
#isopods #[Taxon Name] sp. #[Morph Name]
Asks & Submissions
I am always happy to receive asks, about really anything. You can request isopods (or morphs), show your isopods, show your appreciation for isopods or just anything you can think of
Feedback is always appreciated
Inappropriate asks will be deleted
You can always submit an isopod, especially if you see one in the wild. (Don't worry about it already having been posted, submissions are always welcome!)
You can ask me to try and ID an isopod (emphasis on try)
I sometimes let asks pile up and then answer all of them over the span of a few days, so if your ask doesn't get answered right away, that is why
Obviously this is nothing final. It's just there to serve as a general outline of how the blog operates and is more thought of as a guideline than a law :]
Also: I am not a taxonomist, I am just autistic >:]
