always move your open windows around to check if things are opening in the back. yes, even if popups and ads are blocked, most shady sites can turn your computer into the sun by opening lots of tabs. especially on piracy sites.
adblockers. have at least 2. a main and a backup. some dont work well with youtube, make sure one is recently (last 2 months) updated. or just dont use youtube. invidious is good. yt.chocolatemoo53.com is my personal choice alongside inv.nadeko.net. you can watch any non-age restricted videos there.
minimize downloading. it isnt the 90s, most sites can stream. hell, you can have full movies running on google sites or any old gmail. reddit stuff has hours of it, although its mainly kids movies because redditors are redditors.
minimize searching for stuff like "freecartoons" or "free horror movies online". look for a specific website and then find the ripoff with the content you want.
pirating music is simple enough in the modern area (through specific websites, or just downloaders) that if you pay for spotify (or use it) youre kind of retarded.
if it looks wrong, get away. if anything looks weird, close the tab. dont download. trust your gut.
